Hello.I tried to uninstall 6.3.2.1205 on Windows Server 2019. Control panel / Uninstall programs... Uninstallation reported that there are more users logged in. I clicked cancel uninstallation. Veeam disappeared from list of installed Programs. When I tried to install 6.3.2.1302 the error pops up »The installation cannot be updated automatically. Please contact Veeam support for assistance with manual update. «I did several reboots. I removed Veeam folders from Program Files and ProgramData, I removed Veeam key from registry (Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam). Still “cannot be updated…”How can I convince Veeam Agent installer that I do not want to update. I just want to freshly install or repair installation.Regards, Tomaž
Can we get backup status for VDC M365 using powershell like in VBR?
Backup Job using Storage Snapshot Unable to Find Ontap SnapMirror Relationship for Secondary Target. Backup finished with Warning: Cannot find any relevant ONTAP SnapMirror and SnapVault relationships Storage Replication between the Source and Target destinations is working. I was looking at the job log and saw that Veeam was able to identify Primary SnapProtections. There were lines showing WARNING: Replication of all disk snapshots of vm asdasdfasf is not possible for ‘Snapshot Replication’. Thanks again for your input as to possible reasons why this is happening.
is it possible to backup exchange calendars, and SSO using Azure AD in veeam m365? thanks in advanced
Hi everyone,Earlier this year, I was honored to achieve the Veeam Legend status. I knew this was a great recognition, but I didn't realize it would open the door to such an incredible experience: The V100 Summit in Prague.Walking into the venue, I wondered: What will it be like to meet the people I’ve only known as avatars in the forums? It felt like meeting old friends instantly. The barrier between "experts" and "newcomers" just didn't exist.I am especially grateful that I was able to share this experience with my friends @lukas.k and @Dynamic. They were the ones who encouraged me to try and get into the V100 program in the first place. Being there together with them made the whole trip even more special. My Absolute Highlight: The AMA Session While the deep dives were great, there was one specific moment that stood out above everything else: The AMA (Ask Me Anything) session with all the Product Managers.Seeing the entire PM team lined up on stage, ready to answer any question we
Happy Monday everyone, It seems like we have a clear winner for Blog of the Month November 2025! Congratulations @matheusgiovanini !👏👌😼 Best, Madi
My V100 story began in 2024 as a VUG Leader in Berlin. This year, I returned, but as a Legend. The setting for this new chapter? The magnificent city of Prague; I’ll share some interesting facts about it at the end of the article. For now, let’s dive straight into the heart of the event: the Summit sessions.GLOSSARY SESSIONS1- AI & Security Security AI: How artificial intelligence is revolutionizing cybersecurity. Veeam’s AI Strategy: A practical approach and real-world applications within the portfolio. 2- Virtualization & Market Dynamics The New Post-Broadcom Landscape: Impacts and opportunities in the era of virtualization. Market Trends & Dynamics: Where the industry is heading. Veeam’s Competitive Strategy: Our positioning and response to market shifts. 3- Partner Program (VCSP) New Business & Scoring Models: Updates on commercialization and metrics. Security Profile: Enhancing the security posture for partners. 4- Enterprise Applications Direct-to-Object Stora
Every year the Veeam V100 Summit feels like coming home – only with way more NDAs, swag, and Czech beer. This invitation-only event brings together Veeam Vanguards, Legends, MVPs, and the most active user-group leaders, plus a hefty dose of the product-management team. It’s Veeam’s way of saying “thank you” to the community while giving us an exclusive look behind the curtain. Prague was the perfect host city (again), and the 2025 edition was, without a doubt, one of the best yet.Day 0 – Monday: SureBackup Deep-Dive & Swag pick-upThe summit kicked off with an optional but highly recommended workshop on SureBackup – hands-down the most underrated feature in Veeam Backup & Replication. Everyone says they love it, yet hardly anyone uses it to its full potential. Tim and Wesley delivered an excellent update on new capabilities and best practices, capped off with a demo.surebackup workshopAfterward? Swag collection time. Pro tip: always fly with an almost-empty suitcase. This year’s
In fast-paced IT environments, keeping everything running smoothly is a constant challenge. Every day involves checking backup jobs, analyzing failures, resolving issues, applying updates, and planning new projects. For those who manage multiple infrastructures at once, this workload becomes even more demanding. To streamline this process and improve visibility across environments, I configured several automated alerts using Veeam ONE. These alerts are sent by email and play a crucial role in proactive monitoring. One of the most valuable is the alert for VM snapshots older than 2 days, a common but often overlooked issue that can quickly lead to major problems if not detected early. Why Monitoring Snapshot Age MattersOld or forgotten snapshots in VMware environments can cause numerous operational and performance issues. With Veeam ONE, detecting them becomes much easier. Some of the most common risks include: Increased backup window duration Higher probability of snapshot corruption
We all know how it feels to come back to a few thousand emails.😀 After finally catching up with everything that happened at work while I was gone, and getting over a nice amount of sick I caught on the flight home, things are back to normal and I figured I’d recap the Veeam100 Summit for 2025.Until you go to one of these, there is really nothing to compare it to. Sure, it’s sort of a conference, but it’s also a bit like attending a course, it’s also sort of like hanging out with your friends, and there is also some parties, and everyone's in really good moods and having fun, and you get to experience some really cool events, and you also find out things that Veeam has coming in the red content. and…. you get the point. As there are many other posts on this years event, there is no need for me to give a play-by-play of every session. I’ll instead discuss a few and some of my personal experiences.Being my second time to Prague this time was very different. I was much more comfortable,
Virtualization Mode is a dedicated management experience built for virtualization infrastructure. Unlike the standard “administration mode” of WAC which is oriented to individual servers. vMode gives a fabric‑level view, letting you centrally manage Hyper‑V hosts, clusters, storage, VMs, and networks at scale. The official WAC vMode overview mentions that one of its capabilities is “integrated disaster recovery with Hyper‑V Replica. You can learn more from here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/manage/windows-admin-center/virtualization-mode-overviewThe underlying DR technology is native Hyper‑V Replica. According to Microsoft: Hyper‑V Replica supports three failover scenarios: test failover, planned failover, and unplanned failover.Test failover : You spin up a test VM on the replica host/cluster, based on the latest (or other) recovery point. This test VM is not necessarily connected to production network (by default no network). This is useful to validate that repli

Can we use Veeam Backup Replication to backup Azure VM?
Hi everyone,I would like to share my lates experience at the V100 Summit in Prague. For those you don’t know what the V100 Group is an exclusive community of Veeam experts and enthusiasts that includes the Legends, Vanguards and VMP.Once a year, we are gifted with the opportunity to meet in person, attend to many conferences and be hand to hand with the Community team, as well as the Marketing and Product strategy team, getting access to all cool content, new ideas, etc. Many of the other V100 members had share already their experience, from tech perspective mostly, Im going to turn that into more sentimental or “romantic”. Have you ever feel that you don’t belong to anywhere? Or simply you don’t fit with the “standard” like around you?In the Veeam community, I have found a place where I can be myself, and be surrounded by people who likes and live the same things like I do, technology, knowledge sharing, and friendship, no matter where you are from, which language you speak, if your En
Tape Library (Tape Library) What is it? A Tape Library is an automated storage system used for backing up and archiving data onto magnetic tapes (cartridges). It fundamentally consists of the following components: Tape Drives: Hardware components where data is written to or read from the tape. Slots: Physical locations where the tape cartridges are stored. Robotic Mechanism (Picker/Robotic Arm): An automated arm that retrieves cartridges from their slots and places them into the tape drives, or vice-versa, according to software commands. This system is ideal for storing large volumes of data at a low cost, in an energy-efficient manner, and for long periods. Cartridges typically use LTO (Linear Tape-Open) technology. How to Use Tape Library with Veeam? Veeam Backup & Replication supports tape units, including Tape Libraries, standalone drives, and Virtual Tape Libraries (VTL). The general steps for use are as follows: Tape Server Installation: The Veeam Tape Proxy component is
The Veeam 100 Summit 2025 was more than just an event, but a journey of innovation, intense human moments and shared visions. Once again, the Veeam community demonstrated why it is considered one of the strongest and most technical in the IT landscape. In this article, I want to share my personal experience and explain what inspired me, what struck me, and why this Summit gave me insight into the next stage of my professional growth. I wrote about my first impressions of what happened in my previous article. Innovation at the core: Veeam V13 and Veeam Data CloudThe event was a succession of information aimed at conveying a clear message:Veeam V13 and Veeam Data Cloud are reshaping the future of data protection. The new V13 version is not just an upgrade but a reworking of a resilience project. I already started talking about it in this article. At the same time, the strong focus of the sessions on Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) sparked my imagination regarding new features, strategies and integr
Hi Everyone,In the ever changing landscape of data protection… Shut Up AI!!!!!! Sorry I just felt like saying that today 😁 Turn off the Playstation turn on Veeam 13 in the Lab! Like most of you I have sidelined my PC gaming activity (somewhat) in order to dive into the latest Veeam 13.0.1 release.Veeam Security Officer Reminder, always follow Veeam’s best practices and create a Veeam Security Officer or as we all know them as veeamso! The veeamadmin then is forced to ask for approval to enable certain services, like ssh and shell. Veeam Green? After following diligently the new process (caveat, this is my home lab where I wear many hats, in fact like all my jobs ever in IT :(, I am the security officer), asking the security officer for approval, I received access to the shell. Immediately I noticed the green. In fact I am lying I did not but a colleague at work mentioned it. Green here is not Veeam but Terminal Multiplexer which is now default in Veeam.TMUXSo what is tmux: tmux is a t
Hello Community,I encountered the following error while performing a restore operation: 8:26:00 PM Error: bad allocation Failed to upload disk. Skipped arguments: [EmulatedDiskSpec]; Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk} What I’ve tried so far:Verified network connectivity between components. Checked available storage space on the target. Restarted the Veeam Backup service.Despite these steps, the error persists. Has anyone faced this issue before? What could be causing the bad allocation error during disk upload, and how can I fix it? Any insights, troubleshooting steps, or best practices would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,My backup job, for instance, XYZ fails with these messages: Question: What could cause snapshot creation to fail in Veeam Backup for Google Cloud, and what should I check first?
From my experience, most organizations leverage tags to organize their backup jobs. But here’s the tricky question: How are these tags managed?Do you tag during deployment? When the business requests it? Based on applications or SLAs? Or do you sometimes forget to tag workloads? There might be a better way:Let Veeam ONE handle the heavy lifting for you. What are we going to do?Reduce operational overhead by dynamically adding or removing VMs from jobs Use Veeam ONE to automate vSphere tags Target workloads with db or sql in their names Exclude replicas of those VMs Create a backup job targeting the newly created tagRequirementsVeeam ONE needs permission to create tags. For this, the Business View must not rely on external sources—Veeam ONE will act as the managing component.Navigate to Server Settings → Business View and disable synchronization with external sources.Categorization & Conditions In my example, I have multiple database systems. The common denominator? They include db or
Are your Veeam Backups failing because your VMs live in DMZs or tightly firewalled networks? You're not alone! In large-scale, secure environments, traditional network-based Guest Processing often hits a wall (literally!). But there's a simple, yet powerful, fix you might not know about: Changing the order of Veeam's Guest Processing Methods. We're diving deep into the Why and How of prioritizing networkless processing for both VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V. This quick configuration change ensures Veeam always tries the most suitable, hypervisor-channel-based communication first, bypassing those tricky network barriers and keeping your backups successful.https://integriservices.blogspot.com/2025/11/regkey-of-month-november.html
Zero Trust or Bust but Community Trust is a Must! The ransomware avalanche that we have experienced over the last few years has turned most IT people, including Data Protection professionals, into paranoid zero trust fanatics. Everything is viewed through the lens of “beware”. To some this can become overwhelming, after all we humans like to feel safe and comfortable and that requires a trustful environment. So where can we find that comforting trust zone? The community, that is where!I had the great pleasure of participating in my 4th V100 Summit this November in Prague Czech republic. Veeam is a special company that does something remarkable for its community heroes each year. They bring them together from around the world to share product updates, and gather feedback. Perhaps most importantly they help the community members bond together.I could spend time going over the fantastic sessions and the great content that I was present for at the Summit but I wanted to focus on something
I have three machines, one, an old Windows 10 (22H2 19045.6332) box and two Windows 11 (24H2 26100-6899) boxes. All are being backed up with nightly incremental and weekly full using the Windows Veeam Agent for Windows Free edition 6.3.2.1302. Each time a new version of the Agent is released, I install it and create new Recovery Media.Recently, I needed to restore one of the Windows machines, so using Rufus 4.11 and the most recently created Veeam Recovery Media ISO, I created a recovery USB.This USB booted just fine (although it seemed a little slower than other recoveries), but when it got to the initial menu screen, I had no access to either my keyboard or mouse. I tried re-creating this on both other machines and both had problems; Windows 10 had not network connectivity and the other Windows 11 machine had the same not keyboard, no mouse problem. As I got a warning from Rufus regarding out of date Windows boot files when creating the Win11 USBs, I went back to Rufus 4.5 which di
Hello, dear community! I am here with another packed newsletter. 🤓 There has been a delay this month as we have been busy planning and executing the Veeam100 Summit at the beginning of the month. In the middle of the month, I was co-organising a local VUG event, so my newsletter have gone slightly out of the standard timing. This one is full of insightful content related to various Veeam products, patches and releases. Take a look for yourself and stay tuned for the November edition, which will be published at the beginning of next month as usual.
