So, I’m going to be working on rebuilding our repos to be Linux repos to leverage the new security in V11.If you were going to build a repo for 15 TB drives running on VSphere 6.7. Ubuntu. These will provide back up copies to 5 customers each. I can look at what the specs are but I want to know what you all think. Thanks all :)
This is the first post in my new blog series about small improvements and/or features in v11.The first improvement is a tiny one. Experienced User will not recognize it and for new users it will make it easier to proceed. It is about the item-restore wizard. More detailed: the last page of the wizard, before the item-browser starts. Here is a screenshot of the new page:Do someone recognize the modification? The word Finish was replaced by the word Browse!I still can remember when I started the wizard the first time, and I see Finish at a point I expected to select single files. I re-started the wizard and was afraid what's coming next. Did anyone else feel the same way? No one will ever go through this horror again.

Hello all,I’m trying to determine if Veeam B&R supports the IBM FlashSystem A9000 Storage for Storage Integration. The Add Storage wizard only lists IBM Spectrum Virtualize and the Get Plug-in webpage doesn’t list any other IBM storage plug-ins. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks
Hi, A feature I think would be great is to enable the Veeam vSphere plugin without requiring Enterprise Manager. Now we are on HTML5 people are looking for the “single pane of glass” experience. It would be great to see Veeam Protection information polled straight from Veeam B&R. Currently the enterprise manager requirement can put extra burden on infrastructures using default SQL Express for example.

I’ve just read about the release of Cumulative Patch 20201202 for VBR 10a in the forums and wanted to share it here: https://www.veeam.com/kb4050I think the support for vSphere 7.0 U1 and Windows 20H2 is what many people were waiting for.
Hello everyone, wouldn’t it be nice if we could see the duration of every backup job inside the Veeam Service Provider Console?I am pretty sure I could see this kind of information before in the following view, when the tool was still called Veeam Availability Console.I guess this is a feature that has been removed. What do you think? Morning Guys, So like a lot of you we’ve been playing with Veeam Backup for Office 365 v5 and deploying the updates on our services and for our customers, we’re catching a bug fairly frequently that is having major consequences. The Veeam Repository isn’t able to upgrade, which is a requirement for the subsequent backups to run, causing immediate backup issues. We’ve engaged with Veeam support and been informed that there’s a hotfix, but that hotfix has also caused issues it appears and jobs are still failing to run. Just wanted to advise prior to everyone upgrading their productions, it might be worth waiting for a few more days… Thanks!

Hello,It is known how to make Replication configurations on VBR software, but there are not many configurations for failover plans. For this reason, we will discuss "What is a Failover Plan on VBR, How is it created?"What is the Failover Plan? If you have many VMs running interconnected applications, you need to define them as a group and make a failover plan.In the failover plan, you set the order in which the VMs should be opened and the latency times for the VMs. Set Delay (latency) time is a period of time that Veeam Backup & Replication must wait before starting the process of the next virtual machine on the list. It helps to ensure that some VMs, such as the DNS server, are already running when other VMs start. Latency can be set for every VM in a failover plan, except for the last VM on the list.If the virtual machine is closed in the VM group you created, you can manually start the relevant failover plan. When you start the process, two options appear, you can start the ope

Here in South America is very common to find deduplication appliance without / with integration as primary backup repository...I would like to know what you think …
An interesting question arose some time ago. A customer changed permissions of files on a Windows file-server VM. Changes were replicated using DFS. So far so good, but the amount of data that was processed at next incremental backup of target VM was even more than a full backup. Because incremental backup is based on VMware Changed Block Tracking (CBT) feature, it was suddenly interesting to know whats the size of a CBT block. After some recherche I did not find an answer to this question. But I did find a great script that calculates CBT incremental backup size. Based on this script I created the following script to list the amount and the size of blocks changed in between of two snapshots. Outcome in shortWhen using the script – described in detail later – to show CBT blocks I was surprised. I thought there will be a number of fix-sized blocks that are marked to be backed up. But – assumed, script works correct – there isn’t a fixed size of CBT blocks. There seems to be a wide varia

Today’s #VMCE2020 #DailyQuiz walkthrough is ready. Most people seem to agree having multiple restore points is good both for backups and replicas, but how do you really failover to an older restore point than the latest one?Try this question and more at https://rasmushaslund.com/vmce-practice-exam/
