Just read a excellent and very comprehensive article about VMware vSphere VM quiescing. This is the necessary process - within a VM - to get a consistent status of the guest OS (especially virtual disk) and applications. So VM gets quiesced before vSphere snapshot is created. Because VBR uses (like I think any other backup software vendor) vSphere snapshots for backup/replication, I thought this article would be interesting to share. I have a performance tier on a scale-out of several repositories and a capacity tier on object storage. I copy backups to object storage as soon as they are created so I can have a disaster recovery in case a repository failed irremediably.What is the best practice to restore the whole data of a repository starting from data in object storage? 

I am using VEEAM community on my cell phone often, especially in the evenings When I want to write an comment on my cell phone there are few functions avaliable only…On my PC the comment window has a whole bunch more functions.So it would be a huge improvement for me when the available functions were equal on all plattforms… What do you think?

Hi!I need to select in Powershell all backup jobs that do not have a backup copy associated yet.They are vCloud backup jobs.The complete task, just to give you a better understanding, involves checking if every backup job on a pre-filled list (not all backup jobs are on the list) has a backup copy.I’m looking for a properties  or anything else you could suggest. Thanks in advance

Great session by @Rick Vanover and Melissa Palmer (= you know it will be extra special!). I think my favorite takeaway is “What does your business expect?”. Managing expectations is important, don’t forget this is often how you can get budget allocated to satisfy actual business needs vs. just asking for money for that shine thing.Finally, I want you to go into the video with this in mind: “82% of businesses do NOT feel prepared to recover their data center in the event of disaster”… do you feel ready?

So, I’m going to be working on rebuilding our repos to be Linux repos to leverage the new security in V11.If you were going to build a repo for 15 TB drives running on VSphere 6.7. Ubuntu. These will provide back up copies to 5 customers each. I can look at what the specs are but I want to know what you all think. Thanks all :)

This is the first post in my new blog series about small improvements and/or features in v11.The first improvement is a tiny one. Experienced User will not recognize it and for new users it will make it easier to proceed. It is about the item-restore wizard. More detailed: the last page of the wizard, before the item-browser starts. Here is a screenshot of the new page:Do someone recognize the modification?The word Finish was replaced by the word Browse!I still can remember when I started the wizard the first time, and I see Finish at a point I expected to select single files. I re-started the wizard and was afraid what's coming next. Did anyone else feel the same way? No one will ever go through this horror again.
