Hello,I’ve upgraded from 4.5.10 to 4.5.13 this week, since then my backups are failing.Looks like there is a new ambassador version since 4.5.12, which can’t be pulled (Back-off pulling image "quay.io/datawire/ambassador:2.2.2")Can’t find that image version on the quay.io registry. Is this a known issue?

I try to backup a VM Machine on hyper-v but i get error: 20.04.2022 10:56:18 :: Processing DC-01 Error: There are no available IP addresses to connect to Hyper-V Integration Service.   How can I solve this, with anoter hyper-v server it works. Thx Peter

Hi,Can anyone guide me as to how to take backup from QNAP using Veeam B&R community version. I tried various ways such as create protection group but it is not able to install veeam agent and likewise but not able to configure. Please adviseManish

Hello everyone,I am trying to federate the Kasten setup behind an Ingress Controller (see here for more info https://blog.kasten.io/posts/how-to-set-up-alerts-in-kasten-k10-to-immediately-catch-failed-backups) . It seems that everytime my Prometheus server tries to scrape data from the Kasten K10 Prometheus instance, located at the address http://<ingress>/k10/prometheus/federate it requires a login. I managed to do that by passing “authorization: credentials: inside the Prometheus job config. Are there anywhere any best practices to do it? What kind of service account, with restricted permissions, shall I create in order to just have the exact permissions to get monitoring data?Thank you!Mattia

Hi,  I have one VBR Server 11 wherein I have created the SOBR having capacity tier of azure blob.  While creating SOBR I have defined move policy with 0 days.  My retention policy is 7 days with 1 full and 6 incremental.  My requirement is to move the data onto azure blob automatically as soon as it reaches to performance tier.  In my case data is not offloading to azure blob and veeam is taking its default counter of every 4 hours with 0bytes of data offloaded to azure. Can anybody help? Regards,Sunny

GrazieLuca

Hello, 3 days ago I upgraded Veeam Backup & Replication from 11 to 11a (11.0.1.1261).Since then in the notifications in case of Warning I’m not getting the Details anymore.Actually I know the details of the warnings because they are “historical” and I can still see them in the console, but why they are not written in the e-mails anymore? (see example picture attached, the last column is empty even in case of Warning)Thanks for your help.

i have some backups that are failing

Customer is running backups of their VM’s at PROD site to at SOBR and running a backup copy for that job to their DR site (also to a SOBR).   They want to replicate some key VMs to their DR site as well and was hoping to seed those replicas from a the backup copy at the DR site.  Apparently seeding replicas from a backup (or backup copy) on a SOBR is not supported.   Trying to understand why not and how to work around this other than going back to non-SOBR backup repositories?

We attempted a disaster recovery test for servers backed up at Wasabi and 7 of our 8 servers recovered just fine.  We have a decent sized file server (2.4 TB) that won't restore from the capacity tier storage.  It gets to the same point each time and fails.  We have a support ticket and have attempted some fixes and no luck.  We would like to clear out both the performance and capacity tier of this one server so that it can create a new full backup at performance and then send the new backup to wasabi.  What is the optimal way to clear this out?  Just select this server from that object storage and select delete from disk on that server?  Or should I create a new job with this one VM and run it?

Hey guys,Is Veeam endpoint backup now called agent backup?

I have installed Veeam B&R Community Edition. I have to take backup from x.x.x.6 to x.x.x.10I have successfully created Backup Repository for x.x.x.10Now I am creating Protection Group where in I am adding x.x.x.10 from where I have take backup. As soon as I Test the credentials (Either Local Host / Domain ) in both cases I am receiving the below error. I tried to OFF the Windows Defender but then also no success. Kindly advise

hello everybody, i want to backup my server ubuntu to external repository (Google cloud storage).i find folder result backup from veeam on google cloud storage. How to restore from the google cloud storage file to vm like Aws EC2 or GCP ? This file a result SOBR from veeam to google cloud storage

Hello Team,  I am working on a project where customer would like to backup their M365 data (mailbox, onedrive, sharepoint etc.) using Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 and also backup Azure VMs using Veeam Backup & Replication.  I see Azure has both these available in the market place. So if I use them and deploy them directly on Azure Subscription it is good enough right? Or should I need any other instance of Veeam Backup and Replication or Veeam Backup for M365 in on-premise infra or Azure VM etc.? Cause I saw this video - Here I see the Veeam is installed else where and we are trying to connect to cloud appliance. So I am confused

Hi team, I have a new backup I am running that is failing at the first full. It fails and says that it cannot find a VMDK file that is located in an excluded disk. The error reads: “Processing servername Error: File 'X.vmdk' was not found. This disk is a USB attached storage device, but it was added to vmware as an iscsi drive so that we can exclude it in VBR. I have double checked the disk exclusions and confirmed that I have told the job to only back up the correct disks (the disks that aren’t this USB attached storage). I have also checked the checkbox to remove excluded disks from configuration. The file is present in vcenter. I checked. I can’t figure out what is going on and why this job is failing due to a file that should not even matter because I have excluded from the job, the disk the file is located on.

This is more of a processing issue but . . . I have one VBR system that processes some rather large file servers.  We’re going to be setting up Scale Out Repo to Wasabi into an object locking bucket. When Veeam locally merges the latest incremental into a new full, does it push the complete newly created full out to the bucket or is there some magic that happens where Veeam is only updating the current full that’s sitting out in the cloud.  People with small internet pipes want to know.  With a small domain server it’s no big deal to push 20gig but when it’s 25TB…..I’m also going to assume since Veeam is in control of the object locking and retention, I won’t have to figure out when things will be unlocked and the magical merge is going to happen. Thanks ahead of time.

Hi !I’m using the extract utility for test all the password of encrypted jobs and it work well. Just a problem when the password contain a double quotes (“).I pass the good password but it seem that the extract utlity fails when we used password with double quote. The main command i use is that one : .\Extract.exe -dir $full_dir -password $mdpI got the error message “Password is incorrect”obviously I already have verified the password and he is correct. Does anyone have an idea ? or do i have to change all the password that contain a double quote ?

Hello everyone!I am using kasten k10 v4.5.8 (with airgapped installation) on kubernetes rke v1.21.8 and I am performing some logical backups for some db (Mongo/Postgre/MsSQL).The snapshot are exported to a S3 Compatible MinIO Object Store (version RELEASE.2022-02-18T01-50-10Z) that is installed on barematel infrastructure.I defined some policy to backup application three times at hours and as retain I have defined 'ONE HOURLY EXPORTED SNAPSHOT' to have one local and exported restore point. In the blueprint I have the delete phase that is  delete: inputArtifactNames: # The kopia snapshot info created in backup phase can be used here # Use the `--kopia-snapshot` flag in kando to pass in `mongoBackup.KopiaSnapshot` - mongoBackup phases: - func: KubeTask name: deleteFromStore args: namespace: "{{ .Namespace.Name }}" image: ghcr.io/kanisterio/mongodb:0.72.0 command: - bash - -o - errexit - -o - p
