Tengo algunas consultas, he implementado varios repositorios inmutables, en el camino me he encontrado con el dilema de que distribución es mejor para ello y me he centrado en dos: Ubuntu Server y Red Hat.Algunos colegas me indican que mejor es Red Hat sin embargo veo muchos temas que hablan del uso de Ubuntu Server… ¿Qué creen ustedes, cual sea mejor? Adicionalmente, validando las buenas practicas, que entre ellas esta quitar el usuario del grupo sudo, que la maquina no sea virtual sino física, deshabilitar el ssh y no usar ntp públicos, etc. ¿Qué recomendación adicional pueden sugerir?

Hey guys,I have the same random problem with my Proxies (Windows), VMDK are still attached to my proxies randomly once the job finish. The proxies are not backuped during the different backup jobs. The Vms that Veeam processed is found to require consolidation.On the vmware side I found a log " Unable to access file since it is locked An error occurred while consolidating disks: Failed to lock the file. Consolidation failed for disk node 'scsi0:0': Failed to lock the file." at the end of the backup job.But I don’t find the root cause. Have any of you ever encountered this problem?

I need to migrate 12 Windows Server 2016 from Hyper-V to vcenter, can I do this with Veeam just restore from the last Hyper-v backup to vcenter?
I’ve recently gone through the process of upgrading my Veeam implementation from v11 to v12. Everything has upgraded correctly and I’ve even managed to get a hardened repository server upgraded successfully. My problem is that although all configured jobs are quite happily running and successfully completing under v12, the physical Veeam server running as an agent backup job fails. This was working previously before the upgrade. Is there any solution to this issue.

Dynamic Dan is keen to leverage new features in Veeam. At present he has 10 VBR servers over in 10 different locations all connected by the fast corporate VPN. For convenience sake he leverages Enterprise Manager to provide at a glance access to all of his VBR servers and RBAC capabilities. 2 weeks ago his company for the first time in 4 years acquired a new location and Dan was quick to install a new VBR server. However, when back at the head office he is having issues adding this VBR server to VEM. What could be the problem?

For anyone that is using the Veeam HOLs - are you having issues with completing sections and then when you click the section complete button it does not update the Progress % to 100%?I am seeing this, and it is very sporadic when a percentage will go in there. Hi, We have installed kasten helm charts via Rancher. Now I am trying to resize the catalog pvc, but cannot do it in rancher as will over write when new version helm chart is deployed..In App yaml file all I see is a resource “catalog-pv-claim” is created but no size is mentioned, I can’t find where the actual size is mentioned. May I know where in rancher config yaml we need to update the size of catalog pvc so that the volume can be expanded.the parameter “global.persistence.catalog.size” is left default in app configRegards,Raj
We are in the middle of migrating from Rubrik to Veeam. We have some Rubrik backup jobs that are called by our scheduling software, Tidal. The process is as follows:Tidal calls the pre processing backup job for our loan accounting system Tidal is informed of the successful backup, then it moves on to other jobs. These other jobs include all nightly cycle type items for any financial institutions like, sync’ing up general ledger with loan accounting, then with financial reporting systems, etc.. Basically this aligns all core financial systems for a “start of day” state and is a critical restore point for us. Finally, Tidal calls the post processing backups to create that restore point. Tidal is made aware of that successful backup and our nightly cycle processes are marked as completed successfully.We’ve been working with our Veeam account rep but we haven’t yet found a way to replicate this process with Veeam. Hello Team, I have recently upgraded Veeam Enterprise Manager to 12.1.1.56, upgrade is successfully however now am unable to open Veeam EA or Veeam self service restore browser. tried clearing cookies, rebooted Veeam EA however issue still persists.
After a power failure a VM on vSphere 8 couldn’t be started. Title says it all Got a customer who advises they are running Windows dedupe on the local OS, and I can see the backup copy job is getting really poor compression on the VM. Last month I got a POC request from my customer, they are looking for a new data protection solution to replace their current backup solution. The requirements are below.Backup storage should come with encryption and immutable features. The backup data retention is 31 days in on-perm. We target to have 7 days or more in object storage which will be managed by Cloud Service Provider. SQL transaction log backup will be happening for every 15 mins. For SQL backup, only backup the SQL instance and copy it into the object storage. The Cloud Service Provider cannot access the backup data directly from object storage Keep one data copy in two separate object storages. If both Veeam Backup Server and Veeam Respository are attached by ransomware, we can restore data from the object storage to the production server in HQ. The backup solution is fully supported with VMware vSphere 7.0 and 8.0.I prepared the following environment for this POC. HQ Site1 x Veeam Backup and Replication Server v121 x
ciao a tutti, nel mio LAB ho aggiunto nell’inventario in Unstructured Data un File Server che poi è un semplice windows 2022.Il rescan dei volumi fallisce e da un warning (anche se poi i backup funzionano) in cui suggerisce di andare a vedere un log che si chiama appuntoConsole_nomedelvbrserver_utenteche però non trovo proprio.Ho trovato qualcosa che lo ricorda in C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\Satellites\tintowin2022\TINTOWIN2022_Administratorove sta un file Satellite_Console.lognel quale però non trovo nulla. Se rifaccio lo scan non si aggiunge nulla.Qualcuno ha idea di dove possa essere e/o come mai mi succede che fallisce?Grazieeeeeeeeeeee
