Backup to Vultr object storage

Hi All,I am very new to Both Veeam and Object Storage.I have created a container in Vultr and I can connect to it with Cyberduck with no issues.When I go to set it up in Veeam I am asked for the Region which i am not asked this in Cyberduck and so I am not 100% sure what to enter here.Does anyone have any clue as to what this might be? Server Endpoint: ewr1.vultrobjects.comRegion as far as I can see is: New JerseyAnyone wanting to have a go please treat yourself to $100 credit with Vultr by using my referral code:https://www.vultr.com/?ref=8896724-6GCheers, Aaron.

I'm Sure You've Head, But If Not...Watch Your SD Cards! with vSphere 7U2!!

For those who don’t go to the VMware forums (another ‘communities’ based vendor website) often, there was finally a VMware employee who somewhat unofficially acknowledged the issue of running ESXi on SD cards, specifically with vSphere 7U2. I say U2 because v7 and v7U1c, of which I both have run on DELL IDSDMs, runs flawlessly; and has for the past year.To read a little more on the issue, you can review the VMware Communities post here. The issue, it seems, has to do with their newly formatted boot partitions. But honestly, I think the mishap (Hosts disconnecting/hanging) is mostly due to a new vmkusb driver. VMW is currently working on a fix, though they’re really recommending orgs to start using ‘high-performance’ storage (i.e. disks) for the boot  device moving forward. All that to say is, if you haven’t upgrade to 7U2, I recommend not to. If you’re running your boot on disk, I think you’ll be fine. An on-demand sandbox has been started with the Keep application group running feature. What will happen to the on-demand sandbox if it is still running when the backup job starts and completes on the next backup run?

Veeam Agent for Windows One Drive backup failures

Hi, everyoneI have configured Veeam Agent for Windows to backup to One Drive, for a user, and I am getting constant and consistent failures and I am not having much luck finding a solution. The errors mainly are: Veeam Agent 'job’ name finished with Error and will be retried. Job details: Error: Shared memory connection was closed. Failed to upload disk. how to move backup data from AHV proxy to B&R repository

Poll : immutable object storage appliances

Hi all,This week no top-10 or top-15 or a best practice from me, but a poll this time ;-)Since object-storage is more and more interesting for putting backups onto, I want to implement object-storage appliances using SOBR capacity tier at our biggest customers and also on our VCC infrastructure. This especially for having an airgapped/immutable copy of the primary backups.Requirements it must meet, are : it has to be IMMUTABLE object-strorage, so implementing the object-lock functionality it needs to be VEEAM READY (must be on the list Veeam Alliance Partner Technical Programs) it has to be an appliance (so no need to use Linux CLI, but just a user-friendly web-interface, an all-in-one box, all included) easy scalable cost-effectiveI think on Cloudian, Nutanix and Quantum object storage appliances.What is your personal expericence with those and others regarding : cost-effective? easy scalable - modular? what is the minimum setup? number of appliances? what is the minimum storage? expe

Hi Guys, I need some help please. I am going to do my exam in the next week.In the textbook, there is the Design Scenario Part 1 and Part 2. Veeam Archive guarantee over 10 Years

Hi,does veeam archive guarantees that archived data will be readable for 10-30 years? We need to ensure that archived data will be readable due to company requirements. We are using the archive extent in the scale outs. Configured with a gfs retention. They are stored as full backups. People are saying that a backup tool is not an archive tool. I would like to avoid useing another archive tool. We need something offical.

Devices not powered on

Hi I’m using Veeam community edition 11. I have 2 physical machines that are only on a few times a week, never on Saturday when the synthetic backup takes place. I have retention set to 7 days. Will these devices ever do a full back and the older restore points be removed ?

Flashcards for Studying

Hi Folks,I know a lot of you are busy studying for various exams. I like to use flashcards for memorization. I use Anki as it is free and can be installed on laptops and phones. https://apps.ankiweb.net/ I generally create my questions/answers on my laptop and then use the flashcards whenever I get free moment on my phone.
