I am trying to clean up my Veeam Backup environment. Since they launched the Malware detection many of my backup sets are marked as containing files that Veeam thinks are malware. Most file extensions are not and some are files that have been created from our internal Applications Development team. I am either deleting non-relevant files or adding the extension to the Trusted Objects list.One extension that Veeam marked as Malware is *.kill . It found 2 files on our file server with this extension. Confusingly, I have not been able to find these files when I search the file server.  Can anyone point me to an application or process that could locate these files?

I have a backup copy job for OneDrive that has been running for over 60 hrs. and I am attempting to stop the job.  I stopped it in the GUI however the job still shows running with a status of “Queued” and the details show “Operation pending”.  The job status has not changed for 30-60 minutes.   I have also attempted to stop the copy job with the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Powershell Toolkit but I am running into syntax errors.

Does the Veeam Media Creation tool depend on the host OS when creating the bootable ISO or does the Veeam Media Creation tool contain everything it needs?None of the ISO’s that are created on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 24H2 PC’s can connect to the Veeam backup server to perform a Bare Metal Recovery but they can ping the server’s name and IP when using Tools → Command Prompt.I posted detailed info, with the errors, here:https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-agent-for-windows-f33/recovery-media-does-not-work-v6-3-t97990.htmlI’m wondering if the IoT edition of Windows (or maybe version 24H2 in general) doesn’t come with something, that other Windows editions/versions do come with, that’s required during the media creation process.Has anyone else ran into this iss

Hello, I am currently in a battle with VBV - Veeam Backup ValidatorAs has been my experience, the health check of an agent backup job is done by the machine running agent.That, for some reason, the VBR itself cannot perform this function; even though the agent is managed by the VBR and the VBR has full access to the backup repositories.As I run my veeam over tailscale, when my laptop is outside the home LAN, the health check takes many time longer than the backup job itself.So I am try to come up with a workaround. using VBV, to offload the health check to a machine inside the LAN.So far, very frustrating, I cannot seem to use /backup flag on a backup job that does not contain a VM.I did tried to set /vmname to the name of machine running agent, but never worked.Is that correct?"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\B

Hi!We have Kasten10 Operator installed on top our OpenShift.We have 5 worker nodes, so we should have been licensed: "Veeam Kasten has two free editions: a five-node version (no time limit) and the Enterprise Trial version, which provides up to 500 nodes for one  month. Both are fully featured. Hey Folks,Perhaps this is a feature request or maybe people have their own way of doing this. It sometimes happens that I am doing a post and get distracted or have to leave it. Then for whatever reason I lose the post (dumb laptop shutdown but not only). So first of all to the Community Managers, is there any chance we can get a save draft functionality here?If not what do other people here do? Or do you simply sit down right the post and click create?Copying and pasting from word does not work well and I am assuming creating in .md format to paste in would be best. In that case what markdown editor do you use?

I don't get it.I have backup and replication Enterprise.I backup my VMware servers to a local storage and then I want to backup copy them to Azure storage blob (Hot).All I can see in backup and replication is the option to connect to an exsisting backup in Azure.If I try to create a new storage with folders, Veeam cannot see the folder.I read somwhere that I must deplot an enterprise app in Azure to create this folder.Is this really true?Can someone please give me some direction?

My inhouse system & handful of remaining customers all have almost identical configurations. They all have Community v12.0 but all will likely go to Foundation. Each has:Production Host Hyper-V Server MS Server 2019 Replication Target Hyper-V Host MS Server 2019 Win10 Backup Server with Veeam Console Ubuntu Immutable Storage unit. Since the Win10 unit is also my local Admin unit it is on the domain. Several of the Production Servers are also on the Domain before I received the info. Problems encountered:When I setup the last Replication Target, I took the previous Production Host and removed it from the domain. It lost all knowledge of Hyper-V and existing VMs. No problem on that as I just resetup from scratch. Don’t want to do that with a Production Host if possible. I’m sure removing the Win10 Backup Server/Console/Admin unit from Domain will make a mess. I don’t mind resetup as I’m going to install Found

I’ve encountered a couple of issues with B&R and I’d like to start from scratch. I’m contemplating renaming my old B&R server VM and creating a new VM with a freash OS and Veeam B&R install since my current B&R server has been updated many times and was switched from Microsoft SQL to PostgreSQL.Is there a way to export/import only the Credintails & Passwords? I want to manually add all of the other info into the B&R server because one of the issues I’m encountering seems to be database related.Issues:I replaced a physical workstation that uses Windows Agent. I reinstalled the old SSD into the new computer. I renamed the PC. Everything works, including Veeam Agent backups but I noticed that email alerts and Malware scan related errors still reference the old computer name even though the new pc name is displayed in the B&R control panel. Hi, I have an M365 environment with about 600 Users. I have divided my backup jobs into 2, Outlook and OneDrive, but for a long time the backup jobs are working but not progressing. What should I do? 

Using 12.3Is there a way to restore a DB to a CIFS share? I have a MS SQL VM that points to a CIFS share location on our NetApp SAN. When I try and do a restore I cannot specify the Database files target location to anything other that a drive the server sees as local, meaning not a cifs share, or a network mapped drive.

This comes into my mind as the Partner Community, Customer Community and Customer Community Plus are not required.Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone!I performed an Instant Restore, but most of the time, I need to manually unmount the NFS datastore. However, sometimes Veeam does not automatically remove these datastores after the jobs have finished running, so I have to remove them manually.Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hi all,Trying to understand how GFS works. B&R 12.3.0.310 Enterprise Plus. I recently add GFS media, trying to learn how it works. It seems similar to the standard media pool but with additional write protect quarterly/monthly/yearly etc. It seems that everyday I’d get prompted with insert a tape to continue and it doesn’t seem to happen to all the jobs either.I don’t really have a physical tape drive, I’m using AWS Tape Gateway. The backup sizes is smaller than the actual tape capacity that I specify on AWS (15TB). Because of this, I’d like to use the same media, just append to it. This is kind of getting frustrating and I’m thinking to just go back to regular media and increase the restore points and abandon GFS.For this illustration, I have an Active Directory backup. I’ve been a long-time user and promoter of Veeam B&R. I have provided many sales leads which have resulted in new customers and increased revenue for several different companies that I consult with. In order for me to stay informed and current, I have an extensive home lab. I’ve used an NFR license with Veeam, for years.Folks like me used to be able to report bugs and obtain support by posting on forums.veeam.com. Things have changed over there and that forum can no longer be used for support. I have tried opening support cases with Veeam Support but they always get closed because resources are not available for trial and NFR license holders.So what are folks like me supposed to do when we encounter issues that appear to be bugs? The lack of any support for trial and NFR users is genuinely making me consider installing and learning a different backup solution and I love Veeam.

Hi All,We looking in to the option for our small remote sites with not a great bandwidth to replace our virtual Data Domains as copy target with Veeam Vault.Looking for pro/cons, someone's experiences on this, all that can help us with our decision.Thanks,Benny 

 We have migrated our Veeam server to a new VM but old VM keeps active, and the job is running on that VM. What is the process to decommission the old backup server? because all jobs are disabled but SOBR is still running. Should I just uninstall Veeam software if new VM is running all jobs?
