I am using Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Update 4.My backups are sent to Amazon S3 buckets after 30 days.I am trying to do a Instant VM recovery from a Restore Point located in the S3 bucket.I ran the restore and the Log file is telling me.Restore session Status: In progress.Log (Last 2 lines)<machine name> has been recovered successfullyWaiting for user to start migrationI don’t know where to go from here. I am having a hard time finding any documentation for this.Using vSphere Client version 6.7.0.46000Any help would be appreciated. 

Can any one speak to Pure FlashArray//C Dedupe/Compression in combination with Veeam space efficiencies? Can Pure still get 3:1 after Veeam does its thing? I’m getting mixed messages on this. Thanks in advance!

Hello, we are using file-to-tape jobs to archive old files like pst files. After running the file-to-tape job we delete the files on the file-system.In the Veeam B&R console you can find the archived files in the “files” section and you can search the file name. This information is stored in the tape catalog data and you can find this by double clicking on the tapes, too. So this information is saved in the database, but how can i migrate or export/import this information to another veeam server? I am currently migrating some smaller Veeam server together to one single management server and the smaller server will be used as backup proxy. (without db) So on a new Veeam server i will get this information only by doing a inventory and catalog of all the old tapes.Is there another solution for this ?  

Hi,    One of my customer currently has “Veeam Availability Suite” License and has “Veeam One” Deployed. They did a Failover and Failback of a Single VM Manually using the VBR console and would like to get a report from Veeam One with the following information:Start time of the Failover. Time it took for the failover. Amount of Data Replicated during the failover. Start time of the Failback. Time it took for the Failback. Amount of Data Replicated during the Failback.I have checked Veeamone and unable to find a report that can provide this information. Is there anyway without using “Veeam Disaster Recovery Orchestrator” to get this information. ThanksRavi

Hello, I have been asked by one of Veeam partners about my take if it comes to Veeam support for VMware Horizon VDI platform, despite the choice of taking the POC option I also chose to take your input on this. Considering that VMware Horizon VDI is based on ESXi, do we still consider the desktops(Instances) or sockets as unit of licensing?  If so, is there any operational implication or/and limitation if it comes to operations and protection of the VMware Horizon components?  Just to mention I was able to get this old article (posted 2011) but with many Veeam versions since then I decided not to fully reference ithttps://forums.veeam.com/vmware-vsphere-f24/vmware-view-best-practices-backing-up-vdi-server-clients-t6517.html

Has anyone set up a Scale-out Backup Repository using an Azure DataBox?  Having certificate issues for all the jobs copying (from the Repository)to the DataBox.

Hello,I need recommendations and perhaps solution on this issue. I have got to archive on-premise data to Microsoft azure.When I got to the point where I had to scale out repositories, I keep getting an error that the target repository is being used for jobs.I tried creating another repository but it got to a point the wizard asked if I will be Ref file type to format and had to stop because I don't know if that will format the entire volume that the backup jobs resides.Kindly help on what to do.Thanks.

It has been very helpful to configure a monitor to this support article, to get notified via e-mail every time there is a new patch available.As a bonus, you have 65 free scans per month. When provisioning public IP addresses within VCC there isn’t a mechanism that allows to assign/unassign public IP addresses to specific customers. Scenario: I have multiple IP address blocks, each with a different default gateway, if I pre-populate these various blocks into VCC, it will pick an IP address at random, regardless of the primary IP, subnet and default GW assigned to the NEA with no way of correcting this. The only workaround is to keep only the IP addresses in use within the configuration and when expanding the number of IP addresses used by a customer, provisioning the addition IP into the VCC configuration and then immediately increasing the public IP count for that customer by the number of additional IP required. This causes headaches if a customer outgrows the available IP addresses within a scope and requires a lot of work to reconfigure failover plans etc vs a centralised management. How does everybody else deal with this? Hello, We have Veeam Backup & Replication v10. We do backups of our file servers VM’s (in ESXi 6.7) with guest file system indexing option enabled. Also we have tape backup jobs of these servers.We need to restore an individual file from a tape media set, is there a way to restore that file directly from the tapes? or I need always restore all the vbk file to a disk before to do a file restore from tape? Thanks in advance, Omar De Souza.

A lot of us are really busy and while it is nice to read the “create your own Kubernetes” posts, sometimes you just don’t have time to do so. If you just want to jump in and learn to swim as @Rick Vanover said in the last Weekly recap 20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wn7m1F3lvI then there are some ready to go free clusters that you can play around with. My favorite is the O’reilly Katacoda kubernetes playgroud https://www.katacoda.com/courses/kubernetes/playground but many big cloud providers will give you some free time to evaluate as well. A nice full list has also been composed by a github user name salaboy and learnk8s with various contributors here https://github.com/learnk8s/free-kubernetes Kubernetes is very much a hands on technology. What does “Warning: some restore points failed to process” mean? I got this warning on a cloud copyjob and I can’t really find out what specifically it means or why it happened? Does this mean the copyjob failed or in a disaster recovery scenario that I’d have missing data that I couldn’t restore to from the cloud because it didn’t copy over? I ran a new sync and it was successful, but I am wondering what this warning means and how can I present it in the future?

Veeam Backup & Recovery 9.5 (VMWare)When setting up my Backup Jobs. “I Enable backup file encryption.” If I am correct this would mean that the file is “Encrypted at Rest” on the backup disk.After 30 days I move this to a Amazon S3 Bucket. I have set up the Capacity Tier to “Encrypt data uploaded to object storage”. Is the Backup “Encrypted at Rest” in the S3 Bucket or do I need to turn on disk Encryption in Amazon?Is there some documentation that explains the above scenario?

How can I perform backup verifcation or sure backup in our NSX-T environment? We need to perform restore test regulary. So what kind of options do we have?Heartbeat test would be ok.
