Hello, relatively new user to Veeam BU here. I am trying to find the cause of the error below:The login is to the vCenter Server. So is Veeam complaining about the certificate for the vCenter Server? Where do I start looking at this point, thanks. ..ar

Hello, I have a Veeam server that backs up a Win server 2016 server located at another location.  Veeam connects to this VM over a SDWAN connection (Zerotier)  This has worked perfectly for years.  All of a sudden, a few days ago, it started failing.  I uninstalled all components (Veeam Agent) from the server, then redeployed the agent.  I can ping the remote server, install the veeam agent, etc on it.  But when I run the job, I get an error:  “Error: Failed to connect to remote backup service.”   Any ideas what could cause this?

Hey Guys,Is it possible to initiate an application item level restore for MySQL backup?

So I had fun the other night.  I had an older Synology NAS that was on NFS4.1 that i upgraded to the latest v7 OS.  However, 4.1 has been removed and reduced to 4.0 for that architecture (i’ve since seen you can bodge it in cmd line but not going there yet).So I had to remove the NFS datastore from vcenter and remap with NFS3 and re-import the VM’s that were solely running on that storage.So now Veeam see’s the VM’s as new ones but one is a large archive server. Before I try to back that up, and find that it needs to backup the entire 20Tb offsite!! is there a way I can convince Veeam that this VM is the same as the one on it’s database.Or do I not need to as it’s clever enough to realise?

Hello, I achieve a functional configuration for SureBackup custom scripts, already created some of them. But I saw that the only result of the scripts that is presented is a true/false output, that is translated to passed/failed on the report of SureBackup. I like to customize this result, write some custom words on the result instead of only passes/failed. Is there some way to do it? On the .xml configured for the Role I did not found any TAG related to it. Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone,Hi have a question concerning veeam disaster recovery seting up with veeamCurrently I have my full infra on my production site.For my disaster recovery project, I plan to move my NAS which is used as SMB Repo, I  plan to also move my backup + proxy server using for replica job.After that i will install veeam disaster recovery orchestrator on the DR site and manage my disaster recovery plan with it.I my architecture I don't a vcenter server in my DR site. I plan to use the main site vcenter server to manage DR Esxi (2 hypervisors).Is it recommended to do it like this?I would like to know if not having a dedicated vcenter for my hypervisors on the PRA site could be a problem.I would like to have comments and recommendations on this architecture. A turboencabulator, or retro encabulator or any other such derivation is a brilliant fictional item with some of the (IMO) best technobabble ever! A fools errand on the other hand is normally a prank to someone, asking an impossible or nonsensical task, my favourite of these is in a pizzaeria, it’s not uncommon to ask the junior to go to the fridge and get the dough repair kit. And then finally we have the in-jokes, those comments that make you laugh because you know it makes no sense. My favourites being either “Write-only memory” or if there’s any “IT Crowd” fans here, the internet!

Hey folks, A non tech question. How do you keep up with it all?Background. Since becoming a Veeam Legend a year ago I have made an effort to focus more on social media. I engaged Twitter and started a daily Linkedin watch. Every time I see something interesting I follow the person, I have also added a huge number of Linked in connections (nearing 1000 now!). The other day someone asked if I had not seen their post on Twitter. It was a great topic and the person knew it was of special interest to me. It became clear that I am simply not able to keep up with the constant stream of information. What do you guys do? Can you create special watch groups for important feeds? Or should I just become a linkedin/Twitter junkie a la Facebook early 2000s and if my phone dies when camping up North in the woods go into severe withdrawal ! :)

Dears, I have Veeam backup & replication connected to Veeam service provider console, and I would like to customize a user on VSPC to be allowed to run and stop specific jobs on VBR and not all the jobs created.Because my client wants to run some jobs manually and not periodically and I do not want him to have access to all the jobs created on VBR. Regards.

Morning all,Happy Friday!As per @victorwu’s post, vSphere 7.0 U3c is now rereleased!I’m not here to kick them when they’re down, but VMware didn’t have the best of times with vSphere 7.0, but after their divorce from Dell EMC and the subsequent pulling of vSphere 7.0U3c for quality concerns, will this release finally be worthy of the VMware name? So, my question to you all. vSphere 6.5/6.7 are end of life later this year, so if you’re still on 6.5/6.7, will this release make you look at upgrading? Or are you still unsure and want to hold out until nearer the EOL? Share your thoughts!

Can someone enlighten me on my queries? If I have to replicate the backup from Prod to DR, what will be the best approach?I believed you can install veeam in the VMware Prod only then Replicate the VM directly to the DR VMware environment, it means no Veeam Mgmt in the DR installed, but on the failback what will the approach for that? I handled other backup before, on Arcserve I must have arcserve on both sites to do the replication, is that approach is feasible to veeam? must have both veeam mgmt for prod and dr If customer have exisiting vsphere replication for critical apps. Do I need to maximize the CDP feature instead of veeam replication?Thanks :)
