For those of you with access to a lab/test environment, what do you use when you’re “on the move”. Maybe it’s public cloud, maybe a VPN back to a DC/Home, maybe it’s a portable enough workload you can run it from your laptop.
Curious to hear how people tackle this when mobile

I use two
I connect over VPN / HTTPS to my “primary” home lab
also I carry My MacBook Pro with a mini virtual lab on it.
depending if I’m in a plane, train, or confortable with a good internet connection.
and of course how much it worth the tasks I’m running in the lab.
cheers.

Wow that is great
I use VMware Workstation on my laptop when I am not able to connect to my home lab since my laptop is an X1 Extreme with 64GB of RAM.
But if I need something more powerful I will use VPN to connect to the lab at our one DC we use for testing. Makes it easy when having WiFi.

Wow, my topic was the 3000th last night and I didn’t see it…
And to your question: I don’t have access to my lab from remote at the moment. I have separated it completely from everything else-
I can run a k8s or k3s cluster on anything, even your refrigerator :)

That one is too funny
sandbox on dedicated infra at work, so VPN :)

No remote access for me. I have a VPN set up for my home automation setup, but not for my lab set up. I try not to leave it up 24/7 these days anyways seeing my test environment at work is really good. Frees me up in the evenings and keeps the fan noise down in the house :)
