veeamhubrepo not activating ssh

Hi,After an upgrade to B&R 12 i need to deploy components to my offsite immutable repo.I run “sudo veeamhubrepo”, chose the default user and press enter, but ssh is never enabled so my B&R server cant connect. I recall seeing a note in the header of veeamhubrepo once about SSH being enabled, but now it just showing the IP. Any hints?

Best way to replicate Veeam Backup Repository Off-Site

Hi EveryoneLooking for an advice on the best way to keep backup repository data replicated to off-site for redundancy.The setup is: 2x hardened Linux repositories each on Synology NAS.At the moment the backups are copied using backup copy jobs, however it would not copy all of the backup data chain, just backups created after the creation of the backup copy job.I would like to keep both repositories in full sync in case on of them is lost because of the disaster.

What is your overall experience with Veeam in a Hyper-V environment?

I seem to have a lot more issues with Hyper-V that I do VMware. I was curious what you all’s overall experience is? In particular, Veeam does not seem to like clusters and I see lots of issues with checkpoint creations that pop up.

Managing the maximum concurrent tasks on repository level.

Hi all, I am looking for the way to manage the number of concurrent tasks on repository. Two questions regarding it.I was expecting it to be the option of CBackupRepository object but doesn’t seems so. So how to retrieve the current configured number? Whats the difference between LimitConcurrentJobs and MaxConcurrentJobs options in Set-VBRBackupRepository commandlet and which on is actually reflect the option in UI?Cheers,Alexey

Hi, I would like to know, what if my customer have 2 VMs Windows Server and using file share with SMB protocol, do i have to backup those VMs as VMs or File Share ? according to Veeam Best Practices

For example, the file can be damaged after transfer over the network or from hardware failures on the backup storage side. With Veeam Backup Validator, you can quickly verify the integrity of any backup file, without extracting the VM data from the archive.Veeam Backup Validator is a command-prompt CRC check utility that tests a backup at the file level. With VBR v12 Linux proxy server can get a new role! A Linux server can become a Tape Server.We will see more details like supported Linux distributions and versions with general availability of v12.But I would bet on one thing: Linux Hardened Repository Server will be excluded from this feature – for security reasons.

One of the must-have features for providing access security for any sensitive application is the ability to implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) as part of the login process. Veeam and Tape III - Restore of Backup Job Files from Tape which were backed up with a File-to-Tape Job

This is the description of an unusual scenario where Backup Job Files (.vbk and .vib Files) are backed up with a File-to-Tape Job instead a Backup-to-Tape Job. This has several disadvantages, e.g., you must know on which tape your files you want to restore are residing. You cannot find your tape backups under the backups section in the “Home” view of console and many more…OK, now have a look how we get these files back from tape.See the results of the File-to-Tape job and find the tape number the files reside on. If you don’t know the tape, read further, and use the search function ( Note: the warning in the screenshot can be ignored. The filesystem is too big for VSS Snapshots, I have forgotten to switch the VSS snapshots off for this test backup job.).Then go in the Veeam Console to the “Tape Infrastructure” section. Either go to the media pool where the affected tape is in or look for it in the Media section of your tape library.Right click on the tape and select “Restore Content”.

Replication Job, Storage vMotion source vms?

Hey Everyone, As I understand it Veeam is fully vMotion aware. That includes storage vMotion. So if someone storage vMotions a VM the replication job should not have any issues? However, if someone moves the replica to a different datastore, based on @MicoolPaul best answer then you would need to remove from the configuration database and seed and  map in the replication jobs to the replicas on the new location.

Oracle database restore to another server

Hi Veeam,We are taking oracle database backup through Application-Aware backup job in Veeam.It happing seccessfully. Now, we are trying to restore Oracle database to another server (Same OS and Oracle version installed). But it showing some error that “Failed to get database files from mounted backup”.Please help me on this. I dont know how to mount backup in Veeam.Thanks.The error snapshot is showing blow.

Storage Snapshot Restore to a different volume

I’m trying to do Instant Recovery of a large server from a VeeamSourceSnapshot to a different volume. There is no option of doing this, what’s the workaround? We are using NetApp and it has a 100TB limitation on the volume size so this is the reason why I would like to restore to a volume that has more free space. Appreciate your input!

CHMOD mask: [0].Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.RestoreText}.I create a backup copy from the backup as a secondary target and want to store it on a NAS (Synology SMB3 share).I have a second hardware server that I can back up to a second Synology with completely the same settings in an SMB3 share without any problem. The only difference is that NAS1 uses ext4 and NAS2 uses btrfs.What can I change to make things work again?
