I’m trying to add two Physical Computers (Linux 20.04) into inventory to backup.Both are in the same protection group.When adding the servers and clicking “Test Now” the test is successful.After applying the Protection Group changes, I briefly see both servers, then one always disappears.It seems random as to which server remains. I see different fingerprints for each server.I’ve tried using separate protection groups, but the issue is the same. I initially added the computers as part of a backup job creation, but when adding the second server and job, the job always failed. We have uninstalled the agent from both servers, and repeated the process, always with the same result.Veeam Enterprise Plus 11All the other backed up servers are VM’s.Any suggestions? 

The below are just the thoughts that I've been having over the weekend now that Server 2025 has been announced. Curious if anyone else is running into issues when replying in the hub.  I tend to get a lot of emails to catch up on topics and open tabs for them and then come back.  However, there’s a been a lot lately where I open a tab, come back to it 15-30 minutes later, reply, but when I go to post my reply I get the below error.  Usually refreshing the tab and then posting works, but in the meantime, I’ve lost what I typed.  Curious if anyone else has been running into this issue as of late.  Seems like the past week or so I’ve been having this issue.

Hi Everyone,Looking for advice. I have never really looked at Nutanix, except for at one time setting up Veeam with it but relying entirely on the Veeam docs. For those Nutanix superstars out there, what recommendations/tips/tricks do you have for learning it? Free resources? Community Edition?A lot of this I could google or go to their site but I find asking folks who have walked the path before saves you a lot of time not taking turns onto dead ends!  

I have a virtual Backup Server and the Repository is a SMB NAS repository and I keep the backup there for 30 days, does it make sense to activate Synthetic Full Backup in such an environment or is forever incremental better?

Hi Folks, As always in the world of $$ money people will stretch meanings and at times outright make false statements. There is no point in going after them time and time again. Instead just make sure to read and understand the guidelines provided by the source. Veeam have created a great white paper on Zero Trust in Data Protection. They have spelled things out to make it easy for everyone to understand. So approaches that don’t follow what Veeam have stated means that you are taking more risk. Be very careful as I have seen advertising using the terminology of Zero Trust but describing something that is doing the exact opposite of Zero Trust. 

We just moved a couple of servers to a new volume in NetApp using its new large file/volume feature. Nothing has changed on the backup job except the volume that it is backing up. The smaller server around 3TB was able to be backed up using SAN but the other server that is approximately 43 TB is being backed up using NBD. Prior to the move, both servers are doing SAN direct.  I would think that since these are both on the same volume is one has been successfully backed up using SAN the other should as well. Both servers are also in the same compute cluster and both are using the same proxies. What is causing this behavior?

Good morning guys,I recently noticed that some of our M365 backup jobs (various tenants and various backup VMs) always complete with warnings. We are having this problem for about a week or so. The messages always look like this:Failed to backup item: /personal/testuser_testdomain_com/Documents/Todo.one, Download request retry timeout exceeded. Has anybody of you noticed similar problems when trying to backup OneNote-Files? Thank you very much best regardsyanni4iwx

Hi everyone, I am planning to add new SOBR for existing environment (x2 Hyper-V host actually) connecting to the tape library with simple deployment scenario. While we plan to add a new HPE StoreOnce to the infrastructure, is it possible to install the gateway server on the host?Or should it be installed on the backup server?       

I have a Vsan Cluster with 3 ESXi (25Gb Network) and a vm with Veeam 12 and a physical Windows Repository connected with 20 Gb20 VMs must be backup , 3TB ca I am planning how much proxy I need, I am not sure if the proxy installed in the VM where B&R is installed is enough or should I install an additional proxy per Esxi?      

I’ve come across this twice now, and I’m curious if any of you have seen it.  I have a relatively new client that we setup backups for with a copy job to run to a Wasabi bucket.  I have set the repo for 30 days of immutability.  I’m having issues with one of the VM’s being backed up and decided to just blow it away.  Backups are fine, but the copy job has failed on this VM for a couple of months (the newest restore point is from the end of November) due to an odd error when Application Aware Processing is enabled.  Since AAP isn’t really needed for this VM, my plan was to  work around this error and move this VM to a separate backup and copy job where AAP is not enabled but moving to the new job failed.  So I tried to delete the data, and that also failed.  I get the error that the data is immutable until October.  What am I missing here?
