Good day team,

Trying to create a sub folder under the backup tree in container and i get this error. This blob storage is working Buexec, backups going to it etc.

I also cannot move forward as i need a folder name to select.

How can i resolve this?

Hi @SysEng

this is first repo on Azure ?

Do you have checked this requirements ?
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/required_permissions.html?ver=120#adding-microsoft-azure-compute-accounts

Regards.

this is first repo on Azure ? YES

The company already has a storage account in Azure currently used by buexec. In Veeam so far, I have already connected to the blob storage using that account name and shared key. I am trying to connect to that storage account/blob in my VBR 12.

Should i create a new storage account or is there a a fix for this error/possibly bug.;

Additionally, i have 2 sub folders that i created in the azure web portal and still not seeing it populate in the veeam azure setup dialog box.

If you use an existing Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) application (select the Use the existing account option at the Account Type step of the wizard), the application must have the following role privileges for the selected storage account:

  • Storage Account Contributor
  • Storage Blob Data Contributor
  • Storage Blob Data Owner

Marcoluvisi,

I am using the “Microsoft Azure Storage Account (shared key)” option, where I plugged in account name and shared key.

Do you have already read this KB ?

I would check this KB to see if anything pertains.  Otherwise with something this sensitive you may want to contact support and open a ticket.

Hi, just as a heads up it is unsupported to use a storage account between Veeam and anything else so 100% you need to make a new storage account! It’ll save you time doing it now VS support asking you to if you hit issues down the road

Thank you guys. I have already begun the process of creating a new storage account, but have not clicked the “review and create” button as yet lol. I appreciate all the expert responses.

Can someone please direct me to the Veeam support ticket portal/hub?

You can access that here but need an account and registered product/license/support - https://my.veeam.com/open-case

Thank you Chris.

Thank you Chris.

Not a problem.  Hopefully you resolve the issue.

You are most welcome.  I hope Veeam support is trustworthy and wont exploit information from customers. The support case was taken on quickly, very impressive. I still fee like doing what @MicoolPaul suggested, but I will await further. Veeam support is indeed impressive and I hope trustworthy with IPs, etc

They are without a doubt.  I have dealt with them all the time and nothing is compromised from them about your network, system, VM, etc. details.  So rest assured you are in good hands.

Thank you Chris for the assurance. Veeam support said i should create a new storage container as a test, so i will do that and get back to you guys.

@MicoolPaul it worked. @Chris.Childerhose thanks, everyone else, just create a new Azure bucket/container.

Veeam rocks!
