Hi,

For those of you who are running HPE servers with ILO 5 or 6.

We were hit hard last weekend when updating HPE ILO 5 from 3.05 to 3.06. It took our entire vSphere cluster down.

See:

Hmm...interesting. Thankfully I run Dell PE servers.

Thanks for sharing @Franc

Wow 😳

Thanks for sharing this as we do have many HPE servers mind most have iLO4 but some do have newer.

Thanks for the heads up @Franc

HP seems to have issues with firmware releases at the moment. There was a buggy BIOS update as well a few weeks back that bricked certain HP Laptops

Bugs are of all times, but what strikes me the most is that HPE is not open about this. There wasn't any advisory sent out to customers about this critical issue and also on the download page there isn't any mention of this, only a small line on the third bullet on the fixes tab, but the wording of that is quite vague.

Interesting...I don’t have many HPE servers under my control, but I do have a client with 4 DL360’s that I’d better check into...thank you for the notification.  I do with HPE did a better job with notifications of issues like this.
