Hey,I have configured Linux Rocky 8.10 with kernel 4.18.0-533.16.1.e18_10.x86_64 to the Hardened Repo. However, I encountered an issue when trying to add this server to Veeam. The problem is with the Installer Service, and I receive either an exit code 1 or a timeout when connecting to Rocky via SSH. I have already turned off all firewalls and allowed all traffic. My question is whether version 8.10 is supported.I can connect to the repository via SSH using the command line from Veeam server. Veeam version 12.2.0.334 Here gave info that Rocky 8 is supported..https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/hardened_repository_limitations.html?ver=120
I asked this in the Veeam forums, I figure I ask here as well: I have Veeam B&R server1, with a SOBR repo, the capacity extend going to Azure. i have a Veeam B&R server 2, with a SOBR repo, with the capacity tier going to Wasabi. What is the best way of getting the backups going to Azure on Veeam server 1 to Wasabi on Veeam server 2? Goal is to eventually decommission server 1.I can recreate the backup and backup copy jobs on server 2, so then point forward, it will use Wasabi. But how will I get the existing historical backups in Azure on server 1 to Wasabi on Veeam server 2?
Again, Veeam has exceeded expectations and delivered a new release for the Veeam Data Platform with many new features and integrations. This release expands Veeam Backup and Replication platform capabilities significantly. This post will focus on Proxmox VE compatibility, MongoDB support, Nutanix Prism Central integration, and Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB support. The VDP 12.2 for VBR release also delivers other new workload integrations, enabling customers to transition to new platforms with confidence and security, like:IBM Db2: Linux on Power support and SLES 15 SP5 support. SAP HANA plugin: now operates on RHEL 9.4 for SAP HANA. Veeam Agent for Linux: support for the latest Linux distribution versions like SLES 15 SP6 (for x86_64), Debian 12.4, and Fedora 40. VMware Cloud Director 10.6 support and vSphere 8.0 Update 3 support. Amazon Redshift Cluster and Amazon FSx protection. Microsoft Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 protection. The new release brings many other new features and improveme
Mongo DB and VeeamTraditional relational database systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Postgres are built around the concept of tables of information organized into Rows and Columns. These tables/rows/columns store data in a rigid structure. When a new row is created for a table, it should have all the same fields as other entries in the same table. Some fields in a table can reference information from other tables through foreign keys. There is a Schema to define what fields exist in which table and how tables cross reference each other. Data is entered and retrieved through a Structured Query Language which is similar across each of the different vendors but might have slightly different syntax. Each platform has a unique way to manage scale and improve performance and how storage is managed, as well as implementations of other features like replication and high availability.Relational databases aren’t the only option for storing data. NoSQL databases offer more flexibility in how

Hi,after backuping ubuntu ever since without problems, the first fresh installed ubuntu 22.04 came up with this warning message in our latest veeam b&r 11: Failed to index guest file system. mlocate was not found. As since ubuntu 22.04 the package mlocate is just a transitional package to plocate, there is no mlocate binary. So I did a ln -s plocate mlocate and expected the message to be gone - but it keeps reporting, that mlocate was not found. updatedb and locate do not show any errors:root@ubuntu2204:/var/log# updatedb -Vupdatedb (plocate) 1.1.15Copyright (C) 2007 Red Hat, Inc. Hello friends, could you help me with a problem?I have a cluster with 8 HP servers, and they run Windows Server 2012 R2 and the Hyper-V feature.I have a Veeam Backup Community and every time I register my servers as a Hyper-V Stand-Alone Cluster, after a few hours, Host Discovery gives an error and gets disconnected. It only reconnects when I repeat the process of including the Host again, but then, after a few hours, it stops again. And with this problem, all the backups I schedule give an error.Does anyone have any tips for me?Please.
Good day team,Is there way to connect more than Veeam B&R server/software on different servers across both wan sites and/or locally? How can this be achieved? It is recommended that i install Veeam Enterprise Manager on the first server and/or site then start the connecting. If so, is this free/does this require a license? Any other method?
Hi folks, I have an interesting one. I have a client whose 12.2 upgrade experienced issues and the server had to be rebuilt. That said, the encryption password kept on file for whatever reason doesn’t match what was used in production. I have reattached to the local and VCC repo that the client was using. When the restore points are showing as Encrypted in the console, I don’t see an option to delete the datat. For the local repo, I was able to just delete the data directly from the repo and rescan, but I don’t see an option to do the same on the VCC repo. If I CTRL-Right click the job name in the Backups, I have an option to Remove from Configuration or Decrypt Backup. Anyone have a suggestion on how to delete the restore points from the VCC repo aside from having support do it on the back-end (it’s an Iland/11:11 Systems VCC)? I guess I can see an argument for not allowing locked restore points from being deleted in the console, but wanted to make sure there may not be anothe
In this post I would like to highlight the new support for MongoDB within the Veeam Data Platform 12.2 and in particular within Veeam Backup & Replication. What is MongoDB? I expect many of you have come across SQL and maybe heard of the term NoSQL but what does this mean? These are two types of databases amongst many others but the purpose of this section is to discuss and highlight that MongoDB is a NoSQL database. a document-based, database management system (DBMS) that stores and manages data in flexible, JSON-like documents. It's a non-relational database, which means it doesn't use tables and rows like a relational database management system (RDBMS) does.See what they say themselves about their offering - https://www.mongodb.com/company/what-is-mongodb I will also add that MongoDB can be leveraged in many different platforms, It could be in the form of VMs making up your replicaset, it could be their SaaS based version which is called MongoDB Atlas, most of the public clou
The new “Technical Report 4948 NetApp E-Series storage with Veeam Backup & Replication: Reference architecture and best practices” is online! But let's start from the beginning - how exactly did this happen? While we often use NetApp Ontap systems for primary storage environments, there are other requirements for backup storage. What really matters for backups:- Reliability- Blockstorage to get immutability through the hardened repository- Price/performance per TBFor smaller environments, we like to use rack servers with RAID controllers and internal HDDs.However, as soon as multiple 100 TB are required, the use of rack servers with internal discs is not always optimal, in terms of restore times, RAID expansion, etc.A very common combination for us is therefore a 1U rack server with a SAS or FC card. The E-Series is connected "Direct Attached" to this, this combination then provides a reliable and high-performance repository.I always call the E-Series "a better external RAID control

I am getting the error shown in the image. UAC is disabled. I can connect via IP, but I cannot connect via machine name. Can anyone help? Thank you.
Hi to all,I need to rename the Veeam Enterprise Server hostname that has already been joined to the AD domain. In the past, on version 11, with the change of ip and hostname I had several problems, do you know if they were fixed in the latest version?Thank youFederico

Hi all,During the upgrade to V12 for several of our customers we received an error where we couldn’t upgrade all the components.VeeamVssHwSnapshotProviderSvc.msi with Veeam VSS Hardware Provider Service (VeeamVssProviderSvc) service inside does not work on client Windows 10 A short workaround on this: Connect to the database and perform the following statement (of course, take a backup of your database first!)delete from [dbo].[HostComponents] where id = '8A3F9C13-90F3-4B1C-A2A7-C82E6AB66E0F' It seems that not all Windows 10 installations are facing this problem. We’ll try to figure out of certain builds are involved in this. On the other hand, a fresh v12 install in Win10 works without any problems.
Do you want to understand in depth how Veeam Instant Recovery works for SQL Server databases?I invite you to watch my latest YouTube video in the "Veeam Back to Basics" series where I revisit Veeam's most iconic technological innovations and the technological fundamentals that have made Veeam renowned and successful for over 16 years. 🏆🥇**AI-Generated Voice**, as I'm not a native English speaker... But, it's me, not an avatar :)In this video, you'll find:A detailed explanation of the technical functioning of Veeam Instant Recovery for SQL DB A demonstration of SQL database restoration using Veeam Instant Recovery Practical tips to optimize its useIf you prefer a quick overview, here's a summary of the key points covered in the video:Why Instant Recovery?Traditionally, restoring a SQL database involved fully extracting the backed-up data, transferring it over the network, then rewriting it to the target SQL server. For large databases, this process could lead to significant downtime.

Hi alltogether,a customer of mine is planning a NetApp solution running NetApp Synchronous SnapMirror as DR / HA solution. I know it is offically not supported stated in the documentation. But is only the snapmirror to the secondary system and restore from second system not possible? Or is the backup from primary storage snapshot and snapshot creation possible within NetApp Synchronous Mirror? Thanks, Dennis

Por favor, alguien me puede ayudarSaludos y gracias de antemano,--------------------------------Good evening,After installing Veeam ONE on Windows Server 2022 I cannot modify the Windows Proxy settings (inetcpl.cpl), when I click on “OK” it does not accept it, so it does not allow me to assign the proxy to be able to update the Antimalware footprint.I have already checked the local policies and I do not have any for the I
Hi Community. I have an Azure storage account I am no longer using as a repository for VBAz policies. I was going to delete the account until I noticed there are three containers named “veeamdeployer<random>”, and each container contains the same 3 files: veeamDeploymentdll.dll, veeamDeploymentSvc.exe, and veeamNetworkRedirector.exe. Does anyone know if these containers and files are needed now that I’m well beyond deployment into Azure? Thank you.
Who here is using it and who is not? I’m going to start this thread to get an idea of how long the first jobs will take following enable it. Please list the approximate size of your data, or specific jobs, and how long compared to normal the first backup was due to not using CBT. Myself I am wanting to enable it, but really wish I could enable it on 1 backup job at a time as the CPU load is not as much of a concern as the added time to my backup window.
Hello,I’ve created a bootable USB Drive using the “Create Recovery Media” tool and wanted to test the bare metal recovery. But every time I boot from the USB stick a Windows Recovery screen appears saying the kernel is missing or contains errors. And after searching for this issue I found this post which describes the exact problem I have: https://superuser.com/questions/1804131/windows-10-re-kernel-is-missing-or-contains-errorsPS: I’m using Veeam Agent for Microsft Windows to create the backups
