Unable to backup pvc with cephfs provisioner: rook-ceph.cephfs.csi.ceph.com

k10toolsTried to use cephfs provisioner: rook-ceph.cephfs.csi.ceph.com by the “k10tools” command and portal. Both the result is failed to create snapshot and backup with PVC and data. May I know if there is any method to use cephfs provisioner with Kasten to backup? And, Since the PVC has to set AccessMode as ReadWriteMany, the rook-ceph.cephfs.csi.ceph.com provisioner can’t be insteaded with rook-ceph.rbd.csi.ceph.com

Error: File Does Not Exist. Failed to open storage for read access.

Hi All,I’m receiving this error on within Veeam running a Backup Copy to a QNAP. I’m a novice at Veeam so any help is appreciated. Looking in the C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup folder, which log file in particular will detail where exactly this error is happening? Below is the summary of the Failed ‘Backup Copy to QNAP’ job.

VBR backup to Data Domain compression settings

Best practice to rotate drives.

Hi allWhat is the best practice to physically rotate backup drives.I have a remote system that I will go to once a month to change or rotate the drives. So ejecting the drive and connecting the new drive with out effecting the backup repositry.System is a physical Windows 10 Pro with Veeam Backup & Replication not VM. Thanks,

‘SSD Speed’ HDDs from Seagate

Morning, Saw an interesting news story today relating to some new HDDs from Seagate, boasting a maximum capacity of 18TB, these 7.2k RPM SATA/SAS hard drive, capable of a maximum sustained transfer rate of up to 554MBps. For those interested it is the Seagate Exos Mach.2. So how does it reach these alleged high speeds? Let’s dive in 👇 Firstly, these hard drives have two actuators, with the disk capacity divided neatly in half between them. As always, the random IOPS falls through the floor with these disks, achieving 304 random read and 560 random write IOPS, tested at 4K Q16.For the cache, it’s a 256MB multisegmented cache helping boost some of these numbers which isn’t that surprising. These hard drives are designed for the datacenter, so pricing isn’t publicly shared and I don’t believe we’ll see these drives on shelves any time soon, and with power consumption of up to 13.5w under load, these will certainly be contributing some heat when used in bulky RAID Arrays. object storage integration in the coming agents (6.0)

So in B&R v12 it is possible to directly backup to an object storage - same is valid for the agents if I’m not mistaken. Testing the current beta hasn’t given me that option to choose an object storage as target repository, so I guess it can only be achieved in combination with B&R? Or does it still have to be developed? Thanks!

Windows Server 2012 R2 Foundation migrate to Server 2016 Essentials hosted on ESXi

Dear concern, I’m looking for a way (if even possible) to migrate a Windows Server 2012 Foundation(!) to an upgradable Windows Server 2012 Essentials or higher. Final goal is to get this system on a 2022 Essentials including all installed applications. The Server 2012 Foundation is not a DC !A direct upgrade of a Windows 2012 R2 Foundation to any other Windows Server version is imho not possible.Previous steps so far:New machine running main lates ESXi7.02 Migrate physical Server 2012 to VMware host. All test have been successful executed. Install Veeam Community main lates to the VM  Backup VMNow my question concerning the restore. Will this be done to an existing VM e.g. running on a Server 2016 Essentials or even higher? What restore method will be applicable?highly appreciate your comments/hintscheers

I recive test mail from veeam backup for microsoft 365 and no email when the job is done

Email notification is working but I was recivinig somthing like chines letters and i try to fix it with dis article KB2692: Notification emails from Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 are sent in an unexpected language , and now test mail is working and whan the backup job is finished Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 in action many said that email notification is sent, but I dont recive any emails.Help ?

Restoring the whole folder from the NAS archive repository

I’ve just been informed by support that Veeam does not allow restoring more than one file per restore job from a NAS archive repository. They suggested I create a feature request, so here goes.  Can I suggest adding a “feature” that allows for multiple files and whole folders to be restored from archives? Restoring one file at a time is a ludicrous proposition if you need to restore 1000’s or even 10 files.  We’ll need to find an alternative solution as we are already concerned about user requests for future data restoration from our already archived repos.

Backup job not running anymore

Hello everyone, I have run into an issue that I can’t seem to figure out.  I have my system set up to backup on a daily basis but a backup has not run in the last 12 days.  The only change made 12 days ago was a reinstall of Slack on my laptop.  I have rebooted my system multiple times since that date along with performing an uninstall and reinstall of the agent.  I am including a screenshot of the Windows agent and my system uptime below.I am not sure why there would be a job still running at this point and could really use some help.  I am using Veeam B&R 11.5 CE and my laptop is running Windows 11 22H2.  I know that my version of Windows technically is not supported until B&R 12 with Windows agent version 6 but they have not been released yet.  I do know that the only thing that will not work with my version of Windows is the backup recovery media creation.  Everything else should work according to Dimitry Popov in the following post.Dimitry Popov's post

Hi guys, have you ever happened to upgrade your servers, for example Veeam for Office 365, and then hear customers complain because they can no longer connect to the provider using Veeam explorers?How frustrating and tiring is it to have to update all clients' explorers every time!Please Veeam, allow us to update them remotely with VSPC! :) Marco

Unexpected network error

Hi, I had an unexpected network error on my windows server 2012R2 and Veeam Agent for Windows ver. 5.0.3I have setted “keep backups for 35 days” and I have on my nas 2 Tb free out of 3 Tb total. Now, I have 34 backups and when i run a backup, after about a minute, I get “processing finished with errors” and “error: unexpected network error. Failed to read data from the file”. I tried to free up some space, to stop and start Veeam agent service, to restart nas, to modify the number of backups (trying 30 and 40) but every time i got the same error. what else can i do?

Veeam backup copy job directly to the cloud?

Hi,Please can you clarify if it is possible will Veeam to do a backup copy job directly to say an AWS bucket, or Azure Blob? We want to move away from using tape, but do not want to implement Veeam Connct and all its associated complexity.Kind regardsAndrew Rycroft
