Currently i already backup virtual machine under Azure Local / Azure HCI environment.Now i have plan to upgrade the Azure Local host and to mitigate if the upgrade failed i want to restore from the backup.So anyone know here how we can make backup for azure local host itself? Since the OS is using Azure Stack HCI

There is an option for cross hypervisors VM creation in instant recovery, what would be the performance (any impact on the performance?), compatibility issues, and what would be the required tools (if any)?

Hello guys,Having a problem with one of our Repo.I upgraded the VBR from v12.0 to v12.3.2 before I upgrade it to v13 since it’s required.After that I have problem with this repo. How to check which account VBR is using when trying to do the upgrade and is there a way of manually upgrading the repos?Thank you. 

If you are using the Veeam plugin for Nutanix AHV. Please do not upgrade to Nutanix AOS 7.5 release. We have encountered some serious compatibility issues in our testing. Once it is validated we will update the forums post below. https://forums.veeam.com/nutanix-ahv-f51/aos-7-5-t101416.html This has been fixed with a patch for PC 7.5.0.1. A couple of days ago I started to implement an idea that I had for a long time. Wouldn’t it be cool to have an awesome-like list that has a bunch of links but with a built in search functionality. That way, you can add a lot of links and still keep it useful. The result of this experiment can be found here:https://tdewin.github.io/veeamdex/All processing is done in the browser (that is why it can be hosted on github). Even this community is linked. But what I personally like the most is that you can do “deep queries”. It doesn’t do anything but it prepares the links that support it for instant search. For example, deepq q=object storage, prepares google links that can search in the selected sites. This is handy if you don’t want to type in helpcenter.veeam.com all the time inside of google. Well hopefully you guys like it (and use it). I can see there are still some optimisations to be done, but just wanted to start by sharing and see the feedback.

Hi Everybody,a Customer of mine posted the following in R&D forum because we have some issues with his M365 Backup. They have a Case open since May adressing this issue but there is only litte to none progress. I thought that maybe anybody here might had a similar issue in the past and maby even a solution or workaround:We’re currently facing a critical issue involving both Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR), and we’re hoping to hear from others who may have encountered something similar.Background: After restoring Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) — whether from Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 or via VBR from local backups — the files can no longer be opened. They appear to be corrupted, even though they were fully functional in their original state on SharePoint or in the file system. Restoring to different SharePoint sites or local paths didn’t help. One notable detail: the restored files are smaller in size than the originals.Suspected C

Hi everyone,We’re running Veeam Backup & Replication 12.3.2.3617 Community Edition and during the Backup Copy job that copies to a USB drive the “Backup Copy USB.vbm” is not saving backup meta.Error message:Failed to save backup meta to [\\ServerName|usb|Backup Copy USB|Backup Copy USB.vbm] Error: Failed to call RPC function 'FcRenameFile': An unexpected network error occurred. Failed to rename file from [\\ServerName\usb\Backup Copy USB\Backup Copy USB.vbm_13_tmp] to [\\ServerName\usb\Backup Copy USB\Backup Copy USB.vbm].I went through several troubleshooting steps in Veeam Backup to try to fix the recurring error with the VBM file.Troubleshooting steps taken were firstly to disable Indexing on the USB external hard drive.I also forced Veeam to rebuild the .VBM file on the external USB hard drive.I copied existing VBM file, deleted it off USB hard drive, then resynced the Disk (Copy) to USB backup job. Veeam then automatically rebuilt the .VBM. This worked, but the same error is s

Not sure if many are aware but I found this out today with my VHRs deployed from the JeOS ISO that the WebUI on port 10443 is disabled by default so you cannot connect to it.  You need to log in via a console (if a VM) and enable it to connect.  You will see a banner at the top about disabling once you are done which is just a click.Learning something new each day with v13. 😎

I was going over my feed today and stumbled upon a bunch of folks talking about how Minio is now in maintenance mode: https://charts.min.io/Minio was the first S3 and I used with Veeam way back in 2019 and also used it a lot for Kubernetes. Sad to see it go but this seems to be a trend I guess.I think the lesson for everyone is make sure that there is competition and alternatives. If there are not then expect unpleasant surprises.

With my colleague ​@zzsoka  we have developed a procedure the inject needed variables for initial configuration of the Veeam appliances and now we would like to share it with you. When you deploy Linux appliances at scale, cloud‑init is usually the go‑to mechanism for injecting instance‑specific configuration (IP, hostname, NTP, credentials, etc.) at boot time. However, the Veeam Software Appliance used here does not ship with cloud‑init currently, so we need another way to achieve the same result: build one customized ISO and then let vSphere guest variables drive per‑VM configuration.This post walks through how I achieved that using:- a customized Kickstart file,- a customized GRUB configuration,- VMware guestinfo / OVF properties as the source of truth for variables, and- a small shell script that dynamically extracts and uses `vmware-rpctool` (even though open‑vm‑tools is not installed in the installer environment), cleans up after itself, and hands configuration over to the post‑i

Yesterday, during the VEEAM User Group Germany someone was missing a Maintenance Mode for VEEAM. The main problem was to keep which job was enabled and which was disabled. I wrote a script some times ago which stopped all jobs and disable them but before the state is dumped into a JSON File.
