Hey guys,I read in helpcenter document that you can deploy a dedicated distribution server to reduce the workload on backup server for agent backups. If have multiple agents to backup, can I use the same distribution server for all the agents?
Greetings, I have been searching for a bit now and have not come across an answer to this. I was wondering if there was a way to export the actual backup job settings and import into another server that already has existing backups.I have multiple Veeam servers I would like to consolidate into one server. I have moved the backup files and rescanned the storage, that part all looks good. What I am unable to figure out is a way to just get the backup jobs onto the new server, and repoint to the storage I have moved the files to.Is there a way to do this without recreating all the jobs?
Confused on what to do with the monthly license review. This has started popping up on us in the last few days in the backup program (though we’ve been using Veeam already for months...not sure why it’s deciding to start appearing now)We rent a license from a 3rd-party provider. It’s in their name.I don’t have the “submit” option available when I view the report. I can only print or save it. I have a pdf of the file now, but have no clue what to do with it. Apparently creating the pdf also caused the message to go away every time the program was launched. Is this all I have to do? It referenced having to submit it to Veeam, but I have no way of doing that.As far as I am aware, I do not have any access to the Veeam Cloud to send this to you. Do I just send this pdf to my 3rd-party provider to submit on my behalf? If so, will my backup program automatically know when they submit the report so I don’t hit the “must submit by” date?
Hello, relatively new user to Veeam BU here. I am trying to find the cause of the error below:The login is to the vCenter Server. So is Veeam complaining about the certificate for the vCenter Server? Where do I start looking at this point, thanks. ..ar
Hello, I have a Veeam server that backs up a Win server 2016 server located at another location. Veeam connects to this VM over a SDWAN connection (Zerotier) This has worked perfectly for years. All of a sudden, a few days ago, it started failing. I uninstalled all components (Veeam Agent) from the server, then redeployed the agent. I can ping the remote server, install the veeam agent, etc on it. But when I run the job, I get an error: “Error: Failed to connect to remote backup service.” Any ideas what could cause this?
Hey guys, for creating agent backup, there is a job mode called failover cluster. Is it for always on failover cluster instances in SQL server?

Are you backing up your Office 365? And… why not?I’m not going into the lengthy and exhausting discussion of why you should take care of your data, even if it’s stored in something unbreakable like “the cloud”, at least not in this post. I would like to focus on one of the features of the new Veeam Backup for Office 365 v4, which was released just the other day. This feature is “object storage support“, as you may have guessed it already from the title of this fine post! So, this means that you can take Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure Blob Storage or even IBM Cloud Object Storage and use it for your Veeam Backup for Office 365. And even better – you can use any S3-compatible storage to do the same! How cool is that?!To test this, I decided to use the Exoscale SOS (also S3-compatible) storage for backups of my personal Office 365 via Veeam Backup for Office 365.I’ve created a small environment to support this test (and later production, if it works as it should) and basically done the followi
For some reason and to come to speed with all the Veeam components, I decided to revive my Veeam Lab and during the process, I encountered the following error “Error 1064 - An exception occurred in the service when handling the control request : No connection can be made because the active machine rejected it “. Before I proceed to fix this issue, I would love to discuss the capabilities of Veeam for anyone that may stumble on this article. Veeam Backup & Replication is comprehensive data protection and disaster recovery solution that provides a centralized console for administering backup, restore, replication operations in all supported platforms (virtual, physical, cloud). Regardless of what your needs are ranging from flexible hybrid cloud capabilities from AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, or the most robust ransomware protection and recovery options. Hey everyone, Tim announced earlier today that his famous RPS (Restore Point Simulator) tool is now deprecated. If this name doesn’t mean anything to you, the URL likely will: https://rps.dewin.me. For years this tool has been a must have for anyone working with data protection. Now Veeam have an official tool (Fun Fact, some RPS code was used/referenced in the official tool so it lives on!). The official tool is available at https://calculator.veeam.com/vbr, it has been available for a little while now but today is the day Tim officially announced the deprecation of the project. As such please remember to use the official tool as part of your sizing efforts moving forwards. And finally, thanks Tim for all the times your tool has helped us out!
Hey Guys,Is it possible to initiate an application item level restore for MySQL backup?
So I had fun the other night. I had an older Synology NAS that was on NFS4.1 that i upgraded to the latest v7 OS. However, 4.1 has been removed and reduced to 4.0 for that architecture (i’ve since seen you can bodge it in cmd line but not going there yet).So I had to remove the NFS datastore from vcenter and remap with NFS3 and re-import the VM’s that were solely running on that storage. So now Veeam see’s the VM’s as new ones but one is a large archive server. Before I try to back that up, and find that it needs to backup the entire 20Tb offsite!! is there a way I can convince Veeam that this VM is the same as the one on it’s database.Or do I not need to as it’s clever enough to realise?
Hello, I achieve a functional configuration for SureBackup custom scripts, already created some of them. But I saw that the only result of the scripts that is presented is a true/false output, that is translated to passed/failed on the report of SureBackup. I like to customize this result, write some custom words on the result instead of only passes/failed. Is there some way to do it? On the .xml configured for the Role I did not found any TAG related to it. Thank you in advance.

Hey guys,Can veeam integrate and store backups with Dell EMC Powerscale ?
Hi everyone, Quick one here due to time sensitivity. Deadbolt, the ransomware that has previously been utilised to attack QNAP NAS devices, has been used to attack Asustor NAS devices. Looks like there’s an exploit in the EZ Connect system, so advice is currently to disconnect the NAS from the internet and disable this service on the NAS. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/if-you-own-an-asustor-nas-shut-it-down-now The official Reddit mega thread has been pouring through the services that could’ve exploited the NAS whilst Asustor are looking into this. Even Asustor’s live demo page got impacted! (Won’t post a link due to potentially malicious content, it’s in the Reddit thread if anyone is feeling brave/stupid) I’ve been affected, what do I do? Shut down the NAS immediately, this will prevent further ransomware damage.Do not initialise the NAS or you’ll lose your data on your disks.Await further updates from Asustor for the OS remediation steps. At this point you’ll likely need to utili

I had some – in review stupid – error with an backup of a single private computer with the free version of the Veeam Agent for Windows.I had told the owner of this machine to use the Veeam Agent for backup, because it is free and reliable. That I am using the products of this company professionally and didn’t have much problems with them and that they are very easy to use.So this poor little owner downloaded the agent, installed it and configured a backup job according to the procedure and recommendations I have given to him.The he tried to run the backup and after a short time – BANG Error. He called me and told me that there is a problem. I asked him to send the error message to me and I will have a look at it.19.02.2022 14:29:59 :: Error: Shared memory connection was closed. Failed to upload disk. Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}. Exception from server: There is not enough storage space available on the data medium. Failed to write data to the file [S:\VeeamBack
