Hey guys, this is query related to failover plan. Is failover plan dependent on replication job? When u select failover plan, u can select from replicas or infrastructure. From infrastructure option, can we select the VMs which are not replicated?

I used to be able to use the Veeam Agent software to back up a single physical Server 2019 server but when I went to the Veeam website last week it looks like the Veeam Agent software is no longer able to be used to back up physical servers for free. Is there still a version of the Veeam Agent software or another Veeam product that I can be used to back up a single physical Server 2019 server for free? I need to use a free solution until my organization is able to purchase another Veeam license.

Hi Veeam,Currently one of our customer using RMAN to backup there oracle database to the tape. They want to use Veeam RMAN plugin backup to the Veeam repository but the problem is they don’t want to completely stop the backup to tape.They are requesting there is any possible way to simultaneously backup their Oracle database to tape and also to RMAN plugin backup.They are having huge concern on RMAN plugin configuration. Because below RMAN configuration parameters will get updated automatically after plugin installation .CONFIGURE DATAFILE BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE SBT_TAPE TO 1; # defaultCONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE SBT_TAPE TO 1; # defaultCONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE 'SBT_TAPE' PARMS 'ENV=(OB_DEVICE=tape1)';which will lead them interupt in current Tape backup. Hey guys,A customer of mine has asked whether I could create recovery media for failover cluster but in this linkhttps://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/image_create_before.html?ver=110 tells that I cannot create a recovery media and I should enable creation of a Veeam Recovery Media for such clusters with a registry value. Has anyone faced this situation and enabled recovery media with registry value. Hi, I was reading the manual on Instant Disk Recovery Manual and I have a question.When you click “Migrate to Production” does this suspend the VM? The problem is that I have a VM which I restored the disk using Instant Disk Recovery, but on reading online further, it seems that when I click “Migrate to Production” the VM will be stopped until the disk has been completely restored. Hello, I want to ask about something belongs to Veeam Backup & Replication 11 Community EditionI had a machine with total size 4.3 TB on vCenter and all disks are on vCenter Datastore, I had to restore it yesterday to a specific old backup and hit enter and this deleted all current VM and started to restore from the old backup after that I got a call from the team to stop it (at 1%) and restore to some another old backup but when I was restoring to this one I checked the option Quick Rollback, I know this is not recommended at the current situation but that's what happened.My question now is it going to finish successfully or it will fail ? actually it's now 36% (1.6 TB / 4.3 TB)I just want to make sure it will finish with this checked option (quick rollback) Thanks and Regards,

Hi, What we have:A Protection Group (protection-sql) containing SQL Server Cluster: sql_c01 with two sql Servers. sql1 and sql2 I have one agent Backup Job bj-sql-01 , Type “Failover Cluster”. Useing a sobr with aws capacity and archive tiers. Anything is working absolutely fine. Backup ist fine. Offloading is fine. Whats going on:Both sql servers will be renewed. There will be two new sql server. sql1-new and sql2-new (agent already installed) After installation, both new sql servers will useing the same SQL Server Cluster sql-c01 sql1 and sql2 will be turned off.My Accepetion:Should I build a new backup job (clone) or is it possible to keep the existing backup job. bj-sql-01 ?I would manually initiate a Protection Group rescan. The new sql-server should appear in the Protection Group protection-sql the OLD sql server should disappear, because they do not belong to the sql cluster anymore. Hallo Zusammen,ich verwende V11 Standard Edition auf ein ESXi 7 Server mit ca. 20 Windows Server 2019 VMs.ich habe derzeit zwei Partitionen. Eine Archiv-Partition W: mit ca. 600GB bei ca. 3.5Mio. Dateien. Das sind Source Files von Software Projekten. Die Produktiv-Daten liegen auf der Partition C:Es würde reichen die Archiv-Daten einmal pro Woche zu sichern da sich sich normalerweise nicht ändern werden. Die Produktiv-Daten würde ich täglich sichern.Es geht auch um die Wiederherstellungszeit falls notwendig, da ich im Desaster-Fall das Archiv nicht mit zurück sichern müsste, zumindest nicht im ersten Stepp. V11 bietet die Möglich VMs komplett zu sichern und auch Volume Backups. Ist es Sinnvoll Volume Backups zu erzeugen oder ist Veeam so effizient dass ich mir das sparen kann? Die 600GB sind keine große Datenmenge. Allerdings die Aufteilung auf 3.5Mio Dateien ist durchaus ein Problem, mindestens beim Restore. Alternativ könnte ich das Archiv auf eine separate VM auslagern da ich Micros

I have installed Veeam B&R Community Edition. I have to take backup from x.x.x.6 to x.x.x.10I have successfully created Backup Repository for x.x.x.10Now I am creating Protection Group where in I am adding x.x.x.10 from where I have take backup. As soon as I Test the credentials (Either Local Host / Domain ) in both cases I am receiving the below error. I tried to OFF the Windows Defender but then also no success. Kindly advise

Hi !I’m using the extract utility for test all the password of encrypted jobs and it work well. Just a problem when the password contain a double quotes (“).I pass the good password but it seem that the extract utlity fails when we used password with double quote.The main command i use is that one : .\Extract.exe -dir $full_dir -password $mdpI got the error message “Password is incorrect”obviously I already have verified the password and he is correct. Does anyone have an idea ? or do i have to change all the password that contain a double quote ?
