VeeamON 2024 - Use Code "COMMUNITY10" for 10% Off!
I bet you will remember 3-2-1 forever after that! Always :)
Learning from mistakes is the best way to learn. Thanks for sharing your story @mhmdadl Yes, the best way to learn indeed. never forget
Hello,It can be configuration issue, basically, check on the credential used, and also verify that the inventory between Veeam Backup & Recovery (VBR) and vCenter is synchronized. Can you share screenshot or logs?
@Chris.Childerhose This session was on top of my list. Unfortunately could’t make it because of my flight. But it seems very useful.
This is usually happened if your tape is in the slot. However, if you believe that the tape is in drive, so restarting the tape library might help (happens to me with IBM tape library but with older versions) @khaled depas
If you like this, consider attending the official design & optimization class: https://www.veeam.com/vmce_advanced_design_optimization_course_ds.pdf It will be good indeed :)
For option 1: you can set it as “Auto”.
Great content will be much helpful for fresh customers.
Downloading ONLY updates needed in every version rather than downloading the whole version. and make Veeam updates itself direct from the internet with required ports. That’s what on my mind.
This is huge
@eprieto This is great. Thanks
@vNote42 I wanted to let Veeam One able to perform actions and workflow if error happened for example.
@eprieto It is good indeed, but lack of app version like on ipadOS for example. I used to use Lucidchart instead because of this availability.
Great idea. I’d support it. It will help spread the community.
@eprieto Frankly, SureBackup is the feature made me take my decision to go for Veeam . Previously I had a bad experience to take a backup and cannot restore it due to some technical issue. However, using SureBackup for testing porpuses is a quite helpful.
@BertrandFR Basic task to do is to enable orphaned snapshot reports (comes with Veeam One). It will give you an insight into snapshots in your environment. However, when Veeam tries to take a snapshot and finish the backup task, it consolidates the current snapshot by default. In some cases it won’t be able to do so but simply taking a snapshot and delete all snapshots after it will delete all snapshot chain.
@Kseniya As VAO is quite new, it will be good to know more advanced features about it.
I miss some advanced technical topics. Explanations are good but some how-tos may help.
For option 1, you could use the advanced multi-host virtual lab and ensure DRS is enabled on the cluster as this would at least introduce some randomness. For option 2, while originally Veeam did recommend a proxy per host for VMware VSAN, this is not the recommendation at this time. Rather, just calculate how many proxy tasks you need as per the best practices guide and then ensure you scale as needed. Need to know more about option 2 solution you mentioned.
