La présentation s’est poursuive avec la présentation des améliorations de sécurité de la version 12.1.Support Key Management SystemVeeam supporte enfin les solutions KMS ! L’objectif ici étant de s'attaquer aux mauvaises pratiques des mots de passe (absence de complexité ou de longueur, etc), mais aussi dans la plupart des cas ces mots de passe ne sont pas changés fréquemment voir jamais.Veeam s'intégrera aux systèmes KMS pour résoudre ces deux problèmes, avec des rotations de clés  de sécurité générées automatiquement (KMIP). Four Eyes AuthorizationUne protection contre les suppressions accidentelles de sauvegarde (suppression de sauvegarde, repository...) ou certaines actions critiques (modifications de rôles, désactivation MFA...).Une fois cette option activée, ces actions nécessiteront l'approbation d'un deuxième administrateur avant d'être appliquées, s'il n'y a pas de deuxième approbation dans un intervalle de temps spécifique, la demande en attente est automatiquement rejetée et

Après une petite pause, plongeon dans Veeam Backup & Replication V12.1 !La sécurité est le focus de cet update ! Un grand nombre de nouveautés, en voici certaines qui ont retenu mon attention :Inline Malwares Detection Veeam peut désormais analyser vos sauvegardes à la recherche d'infections potentielles et/ou réelles par un ransomware. Attention ceci n’est pas voué à remplacer votre solution EDR! Protégez votre environnement de production car il est « trop tard » lorsque vous trouvez des données chiffrées ou des logiciels malveillants dans les sauvegardes ! Les scans sont effectués à la volée pendant la sauvegarde, Veeam utilise des outils “MAGIC” pour collecter des metadatas dans le système, découvrir ce qui a changé (chiffrement, delta size...), et créer un score de probabilité de risque (AI/ML) qui est utilisé pour signaler les points de restauration suspects. Bonjour @KAROIL_DSI ,Quel est la volumétrie de votre sauvegarde Full à externaliser sur bande?La récurrence d’externalisation sur bande va dépendre de vos exigences, demande spécifique d’un organisme pour une cyberassurance par exempleJe recommande à minima d’avoir une externalisation sur bande d’une sauvegarde full par semaine.Concernant les robots, chacun apporte plus ou moins de fonctionnalités par exemple Quantum possède un système pour isoler les bandes dans un slot particulier non visible par Veeam, une sorte d’étagère virtuelle. Dans tous les cas je recommande de sortir les bandes physiquement du robot régulièrement.Maintenant suivant la volumétrie vous pouvez opter pour un robot standalone.Il est possible d’imaginer une externalisation des incréments tous les jours. Cela va nécessiter en revanche plus de manutention et il faudra bien stocker les bandes afin d’avoir la full et tous les incréments qui lui sont associés.

VMCE v12 x VMCE 2021

HeyThe VMCE 2021 exam is being retired. The last day to register for the VMCE v11 (2021) exam will be December 27, 2023. The VMCE v12 exam will become available on October 1, 2023. I just passed the VMCE2021 this Monday 😄, if you have already follow the classroom for the VMCE2021 you have to passed the certification assossiated. After that you could pass the VMCE v12 without to do the formation.If you are not in the rush you could wait for the V12 formation, the pilot should start soon, some  Legend/Vanguard are part of it, they will probably give us some feedbacks.Advice, if you have to pass the VMCE2021 and you are already used v12, be careful of the difference between the two versions ;)

Backup SQL Transaction logs in Veeam Backup for Azure

Hey @chris392 Veeam Agent for Windows is a data protection and disaster recovery solution for both physical and virtual machines. This solution can operate independently or be managed by a Veeam Backup Server (excluding Veeam Backup for Azure). It offers a wide array of functionalities, including the capability to back up transactional SQL logs.Regarding the Plug-in aspect, it necessitates having a Veeam Backup & Replication environment initially. Do you have this setup, or do you exclusively possess Veeam for Azure? In my understanding, the plug-in allows DBAs to utilize Veeam components to manage their backups. With the Plugin, you can restore a database to the same or different Microsoft SQL Server instance. If you have backup of Microsoft SQL Server transaction logs, you can specify a point in time to which you want to restore the database. Backup SQL Transaction logs in Veeam Backup for Azure

Hello @chris392 ,You want to backup periodicly the SQL transactions logs ?For me it’s currently not possible except if you install a Veeam Agent for Windows on the VM.Enable application-aware processing ensure that the applications will be able to recover successfully, without data loss, but you cant choose the application, by default Veeam does not process application logs and creates a crash-consistent backup of VMs with applications that use transaction logs for operations. You can create a transactionally consistent backup - in this case Veeam Backup & Replication will process application logs.
