VeeamON 2024 - Use Code "COMMUNITY10" for 10% Off!
Hi,I gave that a try but Veeam does not appear in the list. Is it dependent on the Data Center location?
Great overview! Thank you.
That does look really cool!
This was a great question! Helped me clear up a few bits I was uncertain about with the way the backup RI works. Thanks all!
Great recap again and congrats to all mentioned. I second that!
Luckily, we don’t have any SureBackup jobs to delete at the moment so all good at the moment.
Mine was a ‘Grow a chilli plant in a can’ Unfortunately, it never grew and it looked like there were no seeds in it. So we have a gardening theme already? It was a failure.

Great guide @Kseniya Always wondering if there was a guide but I was always too lazy to go look for it. Haha here you go, @dips! Thanks you :D

Thanks for the heads up!
Generally, as a rule of thumb, I tend to leave the C drive for the OS only. In this instance the C drive will not be suitable as a cache due to the high rate of IOPS and change that will be taking place, and potentially impact the OS running.
We tend to have a change freeze but something always comes up that needs looking into to resolve.
Great video! Always a handy reminder on performing restores.
@MicoolPaul what a story!!! 😳 😄 I just went with my nickname that most people end up calling me by :) @dips, does this nickname mean something? 🙃 Nothing as cool as @MicoolPaul So my real name is Dipen but what tends to happen is just randomly, everyone starts shortening it to dips and I thought I’d roll with it. Nice and short :D

This is great! Will also help keeping track with progress for myself.
Thank you for these links! They are going to be massively helpful.
As ever a great post!
Thank you. The extra tip is really helpful.
Thank you!
Really enjoy watching these recaps!
Congratulations everyone!
Yes, VMware seems to have finally found clear words. Was indeed long overdue! Agree. I was trying to tell someone about not using SD/USB cards but they didn’t take notice as there was no ‘official’ annoucement.
Hi, Yes, that is correct. SureBackup will run in an isolated environment but you will need to setup some additional networking on your VMware environment and specify the information into the Veeam SureBackup jobs. In terms of what it can do, have a look at this: How SureBackup Works - User Guide for VMware vSphere (veeam.com)Additionally, with Veeam, when you setup your backup jobs you can enable a Health Check. See here: Health Check for Backup Files - User Guide for VMware vSphere (veeam.com)Essentially, run a backup and verify the backup files. Then run SureBackup to make sure the VMs can power on and services come up. Hope that helps.
