This is it, we’re in the final month of the year.

The month where the world is unsure whether to work, or eat, or drink, or be merry, or some combination of the above.

The month where IT is asked the age old question, “since there’s nobody in over the Christmas period, can we not just overhaul the entire infrastructure then?”

 

So, to prevent the arguments with the family that we’re being anti-social on a laptop, we invented the change freeze. Does your organisation have one? How long do you give yourselves of sweet, sweet, read-only bliss?

We want to see plenty of this: :fork_knife_plate::beers: :man_dancing::dancer:

And none of this: :skull_crossbones::calling::tools::envelope_with_arrow:

 

If you haven’t had a change freeze yet, it’s not too late to try, you’ve all been working hard this year, you deserve a bit of downtime.

Change freeze is from mid of December to the second week of January.

No one wants to repair damages over the holidays which are solely caused because some people makes changes without the correct colleagues present… :rage:

Same here! We have freeze last week of each quarter and last 2 weeks at the end of year!  Great time for building new stuff in dev 

We tend to have a change freeze but something always comes up that needs looking into to resolve.

Yeah but being an MSP we don’t want things to go wrong over the holidays.  There are things we do during this time for maintenance, etc. just no major changes to client services mainly.

change freeze during christmas time (3 weeks) but only for business apps, we can do infrastructure changes if mastered and approved.
