@vAdmin - does your script work for that specific scan engine? Because, in looking at your script, you peruse the “Malware_Detection_Logs” folder. There is no such folder for Inline scans. @coolsport00 ,I haven’t tested it yet, where is the location of the logs to parse ?
Great little script @vAdmin ! I wish Inline Entropy events were more descriptive though 😕 Thank you @coolsport00 , yeah, hence I created this script after reading through your thread and the R&D forums feature request.
Appreciate it Scott. Yeah..the main issues I have is with Inline Entropy scan. It’s so vague, it’s difficult to determine/pinpoint the cause of the detection. Hopefully Veeam can come up with a solution to provide a bit more detail in that engine. Regardless, I agree...this feature is still a really welcomed one. Also looking forward to future enhancements. Anxious to see what they come up with. Yes, Exactly my pain point here.The actual object locations is not included in the email hence it is hard to investigate this issue.Hopefully, in the next release, there will be detailed logs where to find the location of the offending objects.

@k00laidIT ,Yes, I agree with you the Surebackup feature is the best in business.The other feature that I like is the malware scan feature which is recently released.
Having people work remotely, deploying more infrastructure in the cloud and being able to attack remotely while connected to a high-speed internet connection, this method is becoming more prevalent.

It's better to test the system in our test environment first, and then perform a controlled release into the most likely attacked computers.Also, please keep in mind that the attacker will try to test our security measures as well when they get the chance.

Unfortunately, we are at the stage where not if a breach will occur but when. This is probably scratching the surface as a lot of smaller places may be storing data incorrectly and may have been breached but they will not know. Supply chain attack?

Exactly right, @regnor . As a best practice, I usually recommend to Customers to have one of the ESXi added as standalone, by IP. So in worst-case scenario like the whole AD/DNS, plus vCenter is down. At least they can fire the recovers to that node quickly. It does not hurt to have it there, ready to rock’and’roll. Great post @Rick Vanover ! Yes, that is the reason for the Stand alone ESXi server as IP address under the VBR console.
