The v11 PB has been invaluable so would love to see this updated to reflect v12 capabilities and best practice. Reality is → Best practices guide needs to be field proved & tested; so give it a few months!

Yes, a misfire on my part. For the Linux repositories - let me look into this. The new agent should be on the .ISO however.

@Rick Vanover -- not sure if you know yet but can RTM be upgraded to GA, or will we need to wait on a patch?  I am going to be testing with GA regardless so that is not an issue at all for my company. We expect that patch later in the week, I’m working on the details of that - will have more info later today/tomorrow.   The Installer will warn you in advance, but it is essential you do not upgrade until the Provider informs you that they have upgraded, as this will impact all Cloud Connect functionality with that Provider adversely.   Did I get that correctly: even with us as VCSPs already on 1402, VCSP tenants should not go to 1420 unless we’re also on 1420? So there is something more important in 1420 than expected?  Or does that just relate to V12 at the provider’s site at all? There will be a patch to go from 1402 to 1420, which should be

Backup Configuration job warning after upgrade to VBR12 RTM

Hi @ROLS733  You need to wait for the “RTM-To-GA” Patch. It shouldn’t take to long. I will update this post with the KB article after the release.   Best, Fabian What Mildur says - but I expect it Friday. The internal communication was that the patch would be readh Thursday close-of-business from the devs; then the KB made right after that - so Friday.

Frankly, I have not understood the new “file to tape” license but have not researched extensively.   Right now I use the Community Edition and the 10 free instances are used up for Hyper-V and agent backups. I have about 6 TB of data, VMs and agent backups which I store to tape using different jobs. As a home user (aka hobbyist) I wonder which license I would have to acquire and how much this would cost me.   Thank you very much for any links. Another thing I’d add @toko42  in addition to the Golden Comments from @Mildur  is that A) V12 has enhanced logic of NAS to tape and B) NAS to disk already exists. The enhanced logic is no longer free as it’s much smarter, so A and B are separate “data movers” and therefore consume VUL>

Set a file list for backup in before job script

For an existing file to tape job its possible to set the file selection with a powershell script. It's been a while since I've used it, so I cannot guarantee that it still works. Vulnerability in Veeam Backup & Replication - March 2023

I keep getting the same error to stop and disable all jobs. I have made sure there are no running jobs and have rebooted the server. Do I need to disable all jobs even if they aren’t running?   One trick I’ve done for this message is reboot, and before the services start back up - run the hotfix.  If you still can’t get it installed - I’d recommend you open a support ticket.

Similar thread on the Forums FYI: Backup configuration job with warning after upgrade to V12 - R&D Forums (veeam.com)  - Short answer is if the plug-in isn’t used, it was uninstalled and error stopped.But I like @Mildur ‘s response just above.

Vulnerability in Veeam Backup & Replication - March 2023

Hi there, unfortunately for this task I’m neither an educated nor a professional admin. Nevertheless I have to update a VBR on an Hyper-V VM running now 11.0.1.1261 P20211211. I downloaded the iso-file (app. 10GB) “VeeamBackup&Replication_11.0.1.1261_20230227.iso”. But I don’t know what to do know. I guess I have to mount the iso at the VM. But I’m afraid to overwrite all current settings… Is there a step by step manual? Or could anybody please help me and could explain what I have to do exactly? Thanks a lot. Just wanted to add that when downloading the Veeam B&R software an email is generated saying, ‘Thank you for downloading Veeam® Data Platform — Foundation Edition..’ Further down the email, there is a ‘Getting Started’ section:  Screenshot from email with links to Veeam V12 related documentationThe Upgrade Center link takes you to V11 rather than V12   Thanks for this Dips - will get it fixed!
