Been waiting on this one for other upgrades like VSPC and VONE as well.  Time to get testing as I am sure my company will be on me about it.  🤣

Guessing this is another “don’t upgrade from beta” release like VBR was?  Going to have to look up the process for building new on this one an migrating from the beta to use the same data I have in Wasabi...

@dloseke

Yes. This will never be supported. We even write it in the provided release notes on page 22.

You can‘t migrate beta repositories and use it for GA. The format is not supported. Please create new buckets and start from new.

Note: Upgrade from the beta version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v7 is not supported.
Note: that version 7.0 is not compatible with the pre-release repository.

Manually remove the target folders in object storage: <bucket_name/container_name>/Veeam/Backup365/. Note that version 7.0 is not compatible with pre-release object storage.

Thanks,

Fabian

Thanks Fabian.  I checked the release notes but missed it apparently.  Good to know about the buckets…didn’t realize there was a format difference between the Beta and GA.

Man...I sucked it up and not reading up on things - I had skimmed her post but that was about it.  It’s been a madhouse around here so I’ll take the blame for not RTFM.  Thanks for the info!

Backup Format and Metadata may change anytime between pre-release builds.

Never use Beta in production environments or labs you still want to use after GA is out. Always use dedicated backup server and repositories for Beta testing. :)

Best,

Fabian

Makes sense.  The beta was really my first time using the product with any seriousness so it’s all new to me.  I knew the server used was going to be throwaway, but didn’t realize it on the bucket.  But that’s fine.  Thanks again for the info!
