Backup only one client in Protection Group

Hi @Hammer -Yes...you should be able to perform a Quick Backup of just 1 computer in your Protection Group. You can read more about Quick Backup from the Veeam Agent Management Guide:https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/quick_backup_start.html?ver=120As it states, it is an incremental backup, not a full.Also, a couple limitations exist, which you should already meet:There needs to be at least 1 full for the computer The computer must be protected by the Veeam Backup serverGo to Inventory view > Physical Infrastructure, click on the Protection Group, then rt-click the computer & select Quick Backup

Veeam v12.1 Issues?

Hello. After 12.1 upgrade I have an error on a proxy veeam when “disk discovering” on rescan : [16.04.2024 16:19:18.936] <17> Error (3) Access denied or timeout expired. [16.04.2024 16:19:18.936] <17> Error (3) Check if you have local administrator privileges on computer “xxxxxxxxx” Privileges are ok (admin account) Antivirus exceptions are ok A ticket opened at support, waiting solution. At the very least, you can remove the Proxy & readd it. If any of your Jobs use this Proxy explicitly, just temporarily change them to use Proxies "Automatically". Remove the Proxy; remove it as a Managed Server; then readd as Managed Server; then readd as Proxy. If any Jobs had this Proxy explicitly added, reassign it to the given Job(s).

Veeam researching support for VMware alternative Proxmox as backup buyers fret about Broadcom

We’re currently moving from Hyper-V & Veeam to Proxmox. A Proxmox-Veeam solution would be great for us. As we’ll use Proxmox in a testing environment for the next 6 months, we could beta-test Proxmox & Veeam. Good morning! It’s time to provide the answer and link!First off, I want to apologize for the question. I do try to look at & review my questions/answers a few times after I write them up, and again before I post, to make sure it’s not too vague & is accurate. Unfortunately, I didn’t fully succeed at this one. That being said...let’s get to the answer/explanation and link. First, the answer is indeed B & D. But, Chris’s answer isn’t totally incorrect either. Veeam does a real good job at their questions now and imo wouldn’t have a “semi-correct answer” question on their exam like this one. What is semi-correct? One of Chris’s provided answer of A. Why I didn’t have that as an answer is because the listed parameters do not explicitly say TLS 1.0 and 1.1 disabled in the S&CA. But, upon 4th or 5th glance at them (yes, I did look at them that many times, at least), it does say in the list Deprecated versions of SSL and TLS should be disabled. So for that reason, Chris isn’t

And, the answer is???………….. Yes, it is A. GREAT job for those who got it correct! Chris provided a screenshot (thank you, Chris), but the User Guide link is:https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/malware_detection_guest_index_enable.html?ver=120 We had enabled both options and didn't have the folder Malware_Detection_Logs… Is it created after something was found only? And @JMeixner - you are correct, as well. The only thing about that is this wasn’t a possible answer. But if it was, it would be correct. And though it doesn’t explicitly say ‘folder is created only if malware was detected/found’, you can infer that from what is stated in the Guide → From the User Guide:“Information about detected malware activity is stored in malware detection logs. The path by default: C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\Malware_Detection_Logs.”Last paragraph at the following link:https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/hyperv/malware_detection_guest_index_hiw.html?ver=120Well done everyone!

Would you network over a coffee connect with VeeamON attendees?

Hi @Daria_K -I think this is a GREAT idea! Just as a frame of reference, in the early days of VMworld (VMware Explore), the VMware Community...on its own, did a similar “meet & greet” at a local pub in a locale wherever VMworld was for the given yr. It was a non-sponsored event, meaning it was simply a ‘come and meet people on your own. If you want food and/or drink, it’s on your own dime’. In the early years, this was understood, but as more & more vendors sponsored events at conferences over the years, this became a bit misunderstood by “new” attendees. Anyway, I think this is a great idea. I certainly would not mind meeting other attendees, new or alumn. Let me know if I can help further.
