Obligatory: If you haven’t registered for VeeamON yet, be sure to do so here: https://www.veeam.com/veeamonWith the agenda now available, we can see there are going to be huge advances in Veeam Availability Suite v12. With that in mind, what advancements are you looking forward to the most? Got a particular feature/improvement you’re hoping for? Drop it in the comments!
Greetings Community,Speaking with Kseniya last week, I asked if it would be possible to share with all of you a collection of articles that hope it will be of your interest. All of the articles, or projects, are related to VB365, some of them are just for fun, because we can do them (like translations of the Restore Portal), others are quite useful, like getting a valid SSL Certificate. It should be a note on every article of what is officially supported, and what is not, play carefully :)Please remember that a lot of them are Community driven blogs, tools, etc.How to have a holistic Audit of the Restore Operations - Perfect for anyone, but specially Service Providers, and big Enterprises that need to audit all the restore operations. How to restrict the login to certain users to the Restore Portal from Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v6 Perfect to give the right access to the right users. Build an allow list in a few steps. Looking for the Perfect Dashboard: InfluxDB, Telegraf, and Graf
Hi @all,i am new by veeam. I have installed the community edition and will testing backup. Next week i have a tech demo with a veeam consult for full version. But now i will testing the free funktions, and i have added my S3 Bucket. The connections to Amazon S3 works, but when i will configure a backup job, i cannot choose the s3 Storage as backup destination. It there a limit function for this storage in the communitiy edition? Many thanks forwards Stefan
I am going to be starting a blog series on VBM365 this week and wanted to ask if there is anything specific people want to see added as I am doing it from the perspective of the MSP since I work for one. Also if anyone wants to contribute as well let me know and I can add that to the appropriate blog as additional content.

Hello,a customer has the problem that his VBR server has gotten very slow the last days and since today some agent and plugin jobs are failing (and yes, agent and plugin jobs only are failing, no VM backup jobs...).I had a look at the server and it has hit the 10GB constraint of the the MS SQL express edition for the database size…Is there a procedure to shrink the database? For example to delete the session history or something else? The setting for the History under General Options is a option how much entries are shown in the console but not how many entries are saved in the db.Any ideas? 🤔
The Advanced Cross vCenter Server vMotion (XVM) capability was one of the most popular VMware Flings. A lot of customers were anxious to see this capability being an integrated part of vSphere. With the vSphere 7 Update 1c release, the XVM capability is embedded into the vSphere Client! There are two options for this migration “Cross vCenter Server Export” and “The Importing VMs Option“.Cross vCenter Server ExportThe operation is similar to the VMware vSphere storage vMotion.Select Cross vCenter Server export, Next.Input the management IP address of target vCenter Server, username and password, Next.Select the target compute resource, Next.Select the target storage, Next.Select the target folder, Next.Select the target network port group, Next.Select the vMotion priority, Next.Finish to confirm the migration task. The Importing VMs OptionSelecting the option “Import VMs” opens a wizard to walk you through the import process.Connect to the source vCenter Server, Next.Select the import vir
We recently ran in to an issue as noted here in the forums - Ubuntu Hardened Repository - Path is not XFS - Veeam R&D ForumsHas anyone seen this and come across a fix? We are working with support on it but wanted to ask the community. The server has been working fine and the path is definitely XFS as we validated everything.Error -
Hi, everyone! We have a single VM that is over 65TB in size, that we are backing up. We have run into a snag. VMware maxes out at 65TB, so we are running out of space on this backup and we don’t know what route to go in terms of setup. Is SOBR the preferred backup infrastructure for a VM of this size?

Hi everybody!I would like to share will all of you a little story,For almost a year, we were doing this "none written" rule, and it's being adopted by the whole department:"READ-ONLY MONDAYS"Tired of deploying things and changing production things on Mondays, tired after the weekend, and many people coming back to the office with tons of issues, after working from home on Fridays, we took this decision so we were able to fix and take care of the "after the weekend" issues, not adding extra failure points to the day.Now we are thinking of improving this rule to Mondays and Fridays! What do you think?Do you have any "none written" rules you would like to share? Many thanks.
Morning, Just to copy this sentence directly from the latest “Word from Gostev”:“So I do expect the on-prem object storage adoption to go through the roof after V12 comes out with its support for backing up directly to object storage.” There’s been talk of it before, but it’s great to see this as near to a commitment from Veeam as possible, prior to seeing it in the final product. This will do wonders for efficiency and scalability, I’ll be interested to see how this changes the dynamic of ReFS/XFS volumes vs just deploying object storage. V12 is going to change the game!
Hi Folks, VeeamON 2022 is coming up fast. Recently a video was put out that caused quite a stir. Veeam’s marketing department let a notorious Anti-Swagger slip through into one of their promotional videos for VeeamON. The repercussions have been quite serious and the upper hierarchy at Veeam are even discussing a ballistic Paddle Board swag response. He is second to last in the video . VeeamON is never dull!!
Hi, What we have:A Protection Group (protection-sql) containing SQL Server Cluster: sql_c01 with two sql Servers. sql1 and sql2 I have one agent Backup Job bj-sql-01 , Type “Failover Cluster”. Useing a sobr with aws capacity and archive tiers. Anything is working absolutely fine. Backup ist fine. Offloading is fine. Whats going on:Both sql servers will be renewed. There will be two new sql server. sql1-new and sql2-new (agent already installed) After installation, both new sql servers will useing the same SQL Server Cluster sql-c01 sql1 and sql2 will be turned off.My Accepetion:Should I build a new backup job (clone) or is it possible to keep the existing backup job. bj-sql-01 ?I would manually initiate a Protection Group rescan. The new sql-server should appear in the Protection Group protection-sql the OLD sql server should disappear, because they do not belong to the sql cluster anymore. The existing backup job should recocognize the missing sql Server but will continue backup the
I am happy to announce that I am preparing a new book, the topic is “Design and Best Practices of HCI”. In this book, the reader can find the design and best practices of HCI. And I also added the contents of data protection into this book, Veeam VBR v11 is one of the solutions. After this book, you will learn the total solution of “HCI + Backup + DR”. Please stay tuned.
