Hi, everyone! I have a quick question about coypjob intervals. If I have my copyjob set to 1 day starting at 4am, does that mean that the copy starts at 4am and runs until 4am the next day and then just starts over? I am seeing some warnings about things not being copied over in the copy interval. I’m a little confused on how this works. How can I make the copy interval longer?
I’m prepping for the upgrade from Veeam v10 to v11. I have 80+ RMAN clients that use the Veeam Plugin. The documentation says the RMAN clients plugin version should match the VBR server version. Do I have to upgrade each client one by one?
Listen as I talk through what’s new and enhanced in Veeam Backup & Replication v11a.https://anchor.fm/virtualization-is-life/episodes/Veeam-Backup--Replication-v11a-Release-e181pln/a-a6jua5bThis is sourced from the sister podcast to the blog, Virtualization if Life! by Anthony Spiteri https://anthonyspiteri.net/backup-replication-v11a-release/
I was reading an excellent article by Randy Lee, https://www.randylee.com/misc/dr-temperatures, and wanted to see what is your DR temperature? Do the categories align to your business? What is your range for RPO and RTO? “Who” was involved in deciding the values? When was the last time you confirmed the numbers are achievable?
One of the first scripts I wrote after I joined Veeam was one that produced a license usage report using the Veeam Availability Console API. Since then, a lot has changed! The product was rebranded to Veeam Service Provider Console (VSPC) and it’s API was greatly updated in a complete rewrite! That change occurred a couple years ago... As such, it was definitely long overdue for this script to be reworked so it could leverage this amazing new API! This script uses minimal API calls to retrieve current point in time license usage for every company in VSPC. On top of that, if the company is managed by a reseller, reseller information will be included in the output.Developer’s notes...This script is meant to be a stepping stone as the framework can easily be used in other automations. I tried to keep most of the code modular by design so folks can use the script as-is or take the pieces you need for your custom Veeam integration. It can also serve as a reference on how to use Asynchronous
If you setup a VBR agent based backup on a machine that has 3 volumes listed in the OS (one volume being the VBR backup repository), and you set the backup type to entire computer; VBR by default will backup all 3 volumes listed in the OS, including the backup repository volume, correct? For context, in this scenario, the Veeam repository volume points to a NAS setup via iscsi initiator.
Another video from the quick and nerdy series. This video is half how-to half showcase of the true flexibility of Veeam and cloud data protection. It starts with taking a backup of an EC2 instance with VBAWS, using a VBR server to backup copy job to a SOBR with Wasabi and finally using that Wasabi bucket to Natively restore to Azure. This one had a lot of moving parts so it went a little over the 10-15 minute structure but it’s worth a watch!
Since majority of us use Windows for our day to day operations, in this guide, you will learn about Windows update expiration policy.By expiring older, redundant packages, you will get better performance, shorter scan times, a faster user experience, and a reduced risk of deploying older updates that have been superseded with newer, more secure ones.Note: This policy only applies to Windows updates. Updates for other Microsoft software or firmware may have different policies and should be considered separately. An expired package will not appear in Windows Update scan results thereby reducing internet data usage.Kindly visit this link to learn more.

Hi TeamI have a customer where we have configured VBA for AWS backups across different tenants..KMS encryption configured for at the repository level.VBA integration with VBR using the VBA plugin to assist with centralized licensing and a single pane of glass for VBA management has also been configured.Customer was hoping he could create a backup copy job of data residing on AWS to an Azure or GCP bucket.Would this be possible ? If Yes How and if not possible would it be possible to configure a backup copy to a different region within AWS itself. Was unable to bringup any details of the same .Someone from Veeam presales had stated that it would be possible with regular password encryption and not KMS but how would this be achieved. ThxKarun
I used to be able to use the Veeam Agent software to back up a single physical Server 2019 server but when I went to the Veeam website last week it looks like the Veeam Agent software is no longer able to be used to back up physical servers for free. Is there still a version of the Veeam Agent software or another Veeam product that I can be used to back up a single physical Server 2019 server for free? I need to use a free solution until my organization is able to purchase another Veeam license.
Today’s #VMCE2020 #DailyQuiz walkthrough is ready. Are you running SureBackup tests on your production hosts? or did you decide to repurpose older hosts for this? If yes, what happens if there is insufficient CPU or memory on those hosts? What about custom roles? Did you create any? If yes, for which applications?Try this question and more at https://rasmushaslund.com/vmce-practice-exam/
