Veeam server collecting too many files in the Index\Machines folder. The issue is with only VM . The retention period is 20 restore points , but seeing more than 20 folders with different dates. We are using  Enterprise manager . Tried deleting old  folders from the index folder for this machine and monitored , but still seeing more than 20 folders. I think retention is not working. Please advise.

I am implementing AntiForgery into a WebApplication. Whilst I know this works server side using the AntiForgery Library by adding a hidden element and then validating it on a master page event, we have hundreds of ASPX Page WebMethods to consider when it comes to client side implementation with jQuery or reactJs.Is there a way of creating a filter to tag onto WebMethods that does an AntiForgery check?

Although the post is very small, the news in it is big 😃With v12 you can start a Active Full backup of a single VM processed by a job. Just open the progress dialog of the job and right-click the VM you want to backup. As you can see, this can also be used to run a Retry just for selected machines. Important: this will just work when you use the also new feature in v12: True per-machine backup files

I have a strange issue and have been trying to solve it for a few days now.  Fresh install of Veeam Backup 12 for the purpose of migrating a few dev/test VMs from one ESXi server to another.  The install went proper, I created a Ubuntu 24 server on each ESXi server and installed the backup proxy components via the GUI in VBR which registered them there.  Since this is more of a migration project, there isn’t a need for a separate backup repository.  When creating a quick migration job, everything goes well until the backup proxy selection.  The only Backup Proxy that is available is the VBR server and not the actual proxy servers themselves.  Since the migration job is having to use the VBR server as the proxy, the performance is horrid.  I have performed:-repair on VBR 12-reconfigured the proxy servers from VBR GUI (no errors)-proxy servers are on same VLAN as VBR server so no firewall challenges Any thoughts on what I have missed?  Thank you all

We are currently managing a Windows Agent backup policy configured in "Managed by Agent" job mode. The policy is set to perform a "File-Level Backup" and is configured to include the following objects:E:\ C:\Windows\System32\LogFilesWe need to modify the policy to include the operating system volume in the backup. To test this, we cloned the job and made changes to the policy using a test machine. Happy Thursday Community! Thought I'd share another Linux process today – how to resize a Linux volume used as a Veeam Repository in Linux OS, specifically increasing its size. This also is in reference to using an array as your Volume-backed storage. Logical Volume Manager (LVM) processes won't be discussed. Additionally, though there is a process to decrease Volume sizes as well, I also won't be discussing that process either. When wanting to decrease Volume size, I highly recommend creating a new Volume of the desired size, then copy your data to it to prevent potential data corruption.As most of you probably know, increasing Volume sizes within Windows is pretty straight forward → increase LUN storage on your array, then rescan your disks in Windows Disk Manager, then Extend the Volume. What is Health Check?A health check is a planned process within a backup or backup copy job that helps ensure the data integrity of the backup chain. When Veeam Backup & Replication initiates a health check, it performs a CRC check for metadata and a hash check on VM data blocks.CRC Check stands for Cyclic Redundancy Check. Hello, well, the fun never ends.I moved a VM named ‘user01-Virtual-Machine agent_vserver03’ from one folder to another folder on the same drive letter V:The vm itself runs fine, no issues.Now, the backup fails.I tried to search about the error and for 'HvGetVolumesByPaths', but foud nothing at all.Error: Failed to call RPC function 'HvGetVolumesByPaths': The file or directory is not a reparse point.
