I have backup olicy to backup sharepoint using VDC and this job run from Jul 29 and until now the job still in ‘Object waiting for processing’. Already open ticket but until now the support team still investigate. 

So i posted here hopefully someone here know how to solve this

 

Hi ​@hs08, when viewing the backup session information there’s a column that says items processed. Is this number continuing to increase? I’d suggest taking a screenshot/note of the number and then checking it an hour later. Is this an initial full backup or an incremental?

The number is not change from Jul 29 until today. This is incremental because before Jul 29 the abckup is working fine.


Is this tenant on AMER, EMEA, or APJ? If it’s AMER/EMEA I have access to look at additional information, feel free to share the case number here

I’ll review the ticket in a bit when I’m working but I won’t have access to APJ backend to review anything there so keep working with support

Morning ​@hs08, as mentioned I don’t have backend access to APJ as I’m not based in that region so please continue to work with support.

 

At first glance it looks like your backup job is backing up a single, very large SharePoint site (large in terms of file count). Based on the screenshots provided we already backed up over 300k items. I want to make you aware that some Microsoft Graph APIs do not support above the 300k file limitation such as Delta backups, meaning we’d have to read the full site each time to check for file changes.

 

As the site is so large it will take a lot of API calls to initially backup the site, and I noticed from the support notes there were logs generated that we were being throttled by Microsoft.

 

Lets continue to monitor that job’s progress, and if at any point you wish to escalate your case, please go to the Veeam support portal and select “Talk to a Manager” to trigger an escalation.

These steps usually resolve the issue.

If your SharePoint backup is stuck at "Object waiting for processing," try splitting the job, excluding the root site, and back it up separately. Also, increase the number of backup accounts to reduce throttling.
