Hello Veeam, I would like to ask regarding on how to size repository needed for Veeam via http://rps.dewin.me/If customer gave the data size that needs to backup which is 28tb and backup policy must have 2YR retention and the sched will be 24months Full, 4 weekly Full and 7 Daily incremental. So technically I will create a "Backup Copy Job GFS” in Dewin, and will enter 24 in Months the total for that one is 219.2TB, will create another one for weekly will enter 4 in Weekly and total of 44.2 TB, and last for Daily incremental will select "Forever Incremental” and retention will be 7 and total of 31.89 TB. For all type of backup i checked the Refs/XFS, 10% conservative for change rate, and 50% on data left after reduction. So it means i will add the total for all and that is equivalent to 295.29 TB of storage. So i need a total of 295.29 TB with 2YR retention? I think is is too much give that Veeam have dedup/compress features, if you will size can you share the details as well. Thanks
Hello, Can someone share the main difference of veeam replication and CDP, on where scenario best to use them and other details as well :) thanks
Hi Veeam Team, I would like to ask if you have any deployment of veeam, which is th Mgmt is located on prem and the repository is located on the the Huawei Cloud. Cant find specific article on that, please feel free to share docs :) Thanks
We have provisioned VBR in production, tecnically with compute and storage. Can we replicate the recovery points from prod VBR to VBR dr? In dr, we will provion as well VBR dr resources. upon checking with veeam, they can replicate in the dr but the source is the vcenter prod as well, meaning 1vbr is enough as long as they vcenter in dr. Thanks
Hi, we have customer with VMware infra in Production and using Nutanix AHV in DR. They want to replicate from VMware to Nutanix and failback if needed? Is that possible or what will be the work around using veeam?
If the source VMs have virus/infected, technically Veeam can backup that but can Veeam knows that the source is infected with virus/ransomware?
We have VBR BAAS, provisioned in VM, initially we sized it with the server inventory provided. How can I know or what will be the basis if I need to add addtional cpu or ram in the veeam backup server?for example: addtional 10vms added in the job will add 2 cpu and 2gb ram?
Hello, Customer have an existing veeam on prem setup plus tape, they do manually tape vaulting - they manually transfer the tape from HO to dr site (vaulting site). What is the best and seamless approach so that customer no need to go to Dr site to do vaulting. Can we relocate the Tape from HO to Dr, setup veeam resources (server and storage) and have copy/move from HO to Dr then do the tape backup jobs? Thanks
Is there any chance that Veeam will sponsor for a training+certification exam? :)and what is the validity of VMCE?
Can someone enlighten me on my queries? If I have to replicate the backup from Prod to DR, what will be the best approach?I believed you can install veeam in the VMware Prod only then Replicate the VM directly to the DR VMware environment, it means no Veeam Mgmt in the DR installed, but on the failback what will the approach for that? I handled other backup before, on Arcserve I must have arcserve on both sites to do the replication, is that approach is feasible to veeam? must have both veeam mgmt for prod and dr If customer have exisiting vsphere replication for critical apps. Do I need to maximize the CDP feature instead of veeam replication? Thanks :)
Hello, I would like to know what is the best design for Simple and Advanced. For Simple, I have 1 server with the veeam backup, proxy and storage. For Advanced, I have compute as veeam backup and a third party storage. if customer have 16tb source backup, (1) what will be the best design to position, have a Simple to lower the cost or position a Advanced Deploy since date is 16tb?(2) For Simple, what will be the basis to position the Simple Deployment? atleast 5tb and 10 jobs? or how many jobs or source data, so we can consider that as Simple?(3)For Advanced as well, how many jobs or source data? I am reading the article below. Thankshttps://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/deployment_scenarios.html?ver=110https://bp.veeam.com/vbr/
Hello Veeam Community, If customer have 500gb left in their datastore, how can I know or compute If how many days/months the 500gb will be? Assuming the daily trend average backup size is 900gb definitely it will reduce since there is dedup and compress in Veeam and have forever incremental sched. Thanks
We have VMware private cloud, consists of different VMs for different customers, technically is has 1 center. We have a separate infra of backup, with them as a backup solution, different Veeam instances as well for different customers,Now we have ongoing project for backup and provisioned veeam instance1 we will connect to the vcenter of our vmware private cloud and assuming it will be successful, moving forward for veeam instance2 3,4, and so on and we will use as well the existing vcenter for different instances. Is there any problem or error since Veeam instance1 already connected to the existing center? Then definitely we will connect other Veeam instances2, 3,4… Thanks
Can you share a tool on how to proper size of veeam vm/physical resources as well the repository? thanks
Hi Team, I would like to verify if we will backup the NAS (which is located in Prod), how can we replicate it to the other site? via Backup Copy job?I believed veeam replication is for VMs only, but customer have NAS and must have a copy as well in DR sitereference; https://forums.veeam.com/file-shares-f57/nas-backup-copy-job-with-restore-points-t64904.html Thanks
