Veeam ONE - Thread Center Dashboard - Reporting for "Data Protection Status"?

Hi @Chris.Childerhose -VB365 workloads won’t be counted into this percentage. Cloud Connect won’t show here as well.It only takes into account VMs, Computers, unstructured data, cloud instances, enterprise applications. If you don’t have vSphere added into Veeam ONE, this percentage will be heavily impacted same with RPO anomalies widget.

Veeam ONE - Thread Center Dashboard - Reporting for "Data Protection Status"?

Hi-This percentage is based on protected workloads, for example - Protected VMs Report, Protected Computers, Protected Files & Object storage, etc. That is why it doesn’t point to one particular report, as it takes into account these reports and if the workload is protected based on the defined RPO specified in the widget settings.If you edit the widget, and change the defined RPO does that change the percentage? Once you have changed the defined RPO in the widget, rerun the data collection and see if the percentage updates appropriately.

Great write up @James.Janney - One question I have is, if the performance tier is also cloud object storage, would you need to still put it into maintenance mode (performance tier) to get the higher speed for recovery to the cloud?  I hope that’s not as dumb as asking the Mcdonald’s worker if the ice cream machine is working this time :-P

Thanks for clarifying @damien commenge -I’ve seen many service providers using Veeam ONE for the reports and dashboards it contains. These provide insights into workloads protected (VMs, Cloud Instances, physical servers, Microsoft 365 objects), SLA requirements and can help ensure compliance. Hi @damien commenge -There are couple things you can get started configuring. If I was first getting started with Veeam ONE, I would probably start with managing alarms, setting up appropriate notifications and automatic remediation where needed:  This video is a little dated, but the material is correct. The Dashboards can be very useful as well, Heatmaps is a good visual on performance of backup repositories and backup proxy usage.  I guess these are just a few things, but is there something more specific you want to get started with? Maybe using RestAPIs or reportbuilder, etc? Let me know and I can point you in the right direction. I did a vbrownbag talk a couple weeks back, and this may be a good starter to see what’s possible with Veeam ONE.

Veeam One 11 pdf scheduled report - landscape orientation?

Hi @luis.sandoval - From my knowledge, the only way to get the report to show in landscape orientation is to press the print button after the report has been generated. Here is where you can choose between the different orientations. Additionally, you don’t necessarily have to ‘print’ the report but you can save it as a .pdf.  Thanks, Kirsten

Veeam ONE Alerts - is this a training period

Yes- like others have mentioned it looks at the latest three 3 incremental backup runs, and alerts you if they have increased substantially. This could easily be triggered if there is a lot of change rate on your machines before a backup run takes place. Like Christian mentioned, if this is being triggered frequently, it is better to edit and adjust the alarm for those jobs.

Hi @dloseke  -  Yes, through the use of remediation actions you can add VMs to backup jobs. It may be a good idea to have a “catchall” job configured in B&R, and when the alarm is triggered have it set to automatically add the VM that is not protected into this catchall job to make sure its protected.

Question about Custom reports, VeeamOne

@ralphrenierkens -yes, that’s the standard output of the report builder, having the data generated sequentially in a row.  I am not sure ‘why’ it specifically generates like this, but we can put in a request to make the report builder more customizable or at least raise this inquiry further.

New Veeam user or haven't attended a User Group in awhile?

We already have basic failure notification and space utilization reports that are sent to us.  Are there other reports we could setup like no backup in x days?  Or how many backups/replication is still going on at 7AM in the morning? Perhaps it’s in the documentation and I’ve just overlooked it. Hi @raquel.idziak  If you are using Veeam ONE, the Protected Computers report would work well here. It will tell you if there is one valid restore point that meets your RPOs. This can help identify those machines that have not been backed up in X days.  Additionally, there are a couple alarms you could look at that will help you with backup jobs running long, these are Job Exceeded Backup Window and Maximum allowed job duration.  Just a few things to consider. Let me know if I can give you anymore information.
