Hello Community! It's been two years since I published a script for a OneDrive for Business file check in this community. And even back then I had the code ready that also checks recovered files for possible malware. Of course, Microsoft 365 also has certain mechanisms, which are documented here.Trust is good, control is betterI have now taken up my idea again and packed it into a new script. The script restores files from the lastest OneDrive for Business restore point and scans them for threats using Windows Defender. A single file can also be restored and scanned. There is a "beautiful" listing when the scan has detected something. Please read the README document on my GitHub for more details on how to use the script.⛔Important!⛔ Make sure that there is sufficient disk space in the directory where the files are to be restored. Also use an empty directory to save the data, as the script cleans everything up after execution.Question to the communityWhat do you think of a script that rest
I have been neglecting my home lab the last few months! So much so it was running a rather dated version of Kubernetes - 1.27.7 I wrote a post here on the trials and tribulations of the upgrade path to 1.30.6 which is the stable version and latest and greatest version that Veeam Kasten supports https://vzilla.co.uk/vzilla-blog/upgrading-my-talos-kubernetes-cluster
Last week I finally had the time to write my review of the recent Veeam 100 Summit that took place in Berlin for 2024. It was a fantastic event and experience as always meeting new V100 members and talking with the veterans. It even had a surprise announcement from @Cragdoo moving from the V100 over to being a Veeam employee - congrats again Craig!Feel free to check my blog here as it is quite lengthy with many screenshots and pictures -Veeam 100 Summit Recap - Berlin 2024

Dear Community did anyone face this issue while installing the new Veeam One? Need your best guideline in the logs file i can see that
Hello to community. I have question regarding Veeam SQL plugin. Is it possible and supported to use Veeam proxy when configuring SQL plugin. Thanks to everyone.
In my previous Topic I showed how to use the Veeam Architects Site ,but how does it give us the amount of Cores and memory that the proxy will use? I'll show you … Getting the right amount of processing power is essential to achieving the RTO/RPO defined by the business. In this section, we will outline the recommendations to follow for appropriate sizingWe defineD = Source data in MBW = Backup window in secondsT = Throughput in MB/s = D/WCR = Change rateCF = Cores required for full backup = T/100CI = Cores required for incremental backup = (T * CR)/25Example:Our sample infrastructure has the following characteristics:1,000 VMs 100 TB of consumed storage 8 hours backup window 10% change rateBy inserting these numbers into the equations above, we get the following results. We need to change TB to MB / We need to change Hours to SecsD = 100 TB * 1024 * 1024 = 104,857,600 MB (Source data in MB)W = 8 hours * 3600 seconds = 28,800 seconds (Backup window in seconds)T = 104857600/28800 = 3,6
Unable to see DB backups from Enterprise Manager or VBR when using Veeam's SQL plugin for SSMS.Not sure if this is by design to allow DBA full control of their backup and restore processes or I’m just missing something here. Thanks again for all your inputs.
Hi! I would like to share an additional aspect that I was able to experience during the Veeam 100 Summit in Berlin. In addition to Summit's fantastic agenda, already brilliantly described in posts by colleagues in the community (congrats, @alrasheed) and by @NikolaPejkova , this contact with history was a very constructive and rewarding experience for me!I had the rare opportunity to visit symbols that marked my youth and have always fascinated me.One of the things that impacted me the most during my adolescence was the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, which I watched on TV. This event celebrated its 35th anniversary six days ago (!). 👏🏻👏🏻The fall represented a symbolic victory for freedom and determination for the entire world, still caught in the Cold War. It is worth visiting the Berlin Wall Memorial, the Wall Museum near Checkpoint Charlie, and the DDR Museum. As an engineer, I have always admired the incredible engineering behind the Boeing 747, a masterpiece developed in
Hi everyone,I have 2 servers with VBR and I’m trying to connect one of those as a backup proxy of the other, so i can manage backups from a single backup server and disable the other one. adding the server as general purpose and CDP proxy works just fine but when I try to add it as vmware proxy it shows me an error message “Transport service is unavailable”. I checked, the service is online and correctly listens on the default port (matter of fact it works as general purpose and cdp proxy, as stated above). The server runs on the very esxi host I’m trying to backup, same hypervisor this server backups daily with no trouble. I updated and rebooted the server with no success. I cannot understand the problem. Can it be because they are slightly different versions? The server that has the problem is version 12.1.1.56 while the server I’m trying configure the proxy in has version 12.1.0.2131. Never encountered this, please help, I read some documentation and the system requirements are fine.
A sneak peak at Veeam 13 on Linux!!
This KB came out years ago and was updated in January. Just a reminder to check all of your Veeam infrastructure, SQL hosts, and guest OS’s that have application aware and indexing enabled. I found a few servers that have been created in the last few years missing a few. I don’t know if I’ll see much a performance increase, but it can’t hurt 😀 Antivirus Exclusions for Veeam Backup & Replication KB ID: 1999 Product: Veeam Backup & Replication | 11 | 12 | 12.1 Veeam Cloud Connect | 11 | 12 Published: 2015-02-03 Last Modified: 2024-01-02 Purpose This article documents antivirus exclusions that may be created to reduce the impact that antivirus software has on the functionality of Veeam Backup & Replication. These antivirus exclusions may be applied to the Windows built-in antivirus or third-party antivirus software. Note: Antiviru

I have been using the free version of the Agent to back up a Windows 11 PC for some time. At some point recently - unfortunately I’m not sure exactly when - it stopped working with the following being displayed:I have triedupdating to the latest version of the agent Checking both the source and destination disks for errors reformatting the destination disk and re-registering it.Nothing seems to work and there is nothing in the way of an error log to indicate where the problem lies. Any ideas?

Hi all, I am trying to get support with Veeam but they are giving me the run around (we have a valid license but apparently its not assigned correctly and our account manager is away until the 18th) so I thought id ask here. But I am a bit disappointed Veeam has always been great with support and regardless always tried to help :( Veeam ticket is Case # 07501120 I am getting the following error Error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond This Repo has been working for over a month, no blip or issues. However, just today it started having an issue. The only thing that has changed is I am using a proxy now rather than the backup server direct. I rebooted the immutable repo and Veeam was happy again. However, logged on this afternoon and it says disconnected again. Now I have reinstalled the components onto it again, hopefully it stays - has a

Good morning,I am using Veeam B&R CE, and use to backup my Proxmox VMs.My Homeassistant VM after a restore is able to start, but it goes directly in restore mode so it in unaccessible.Someone else experience the problem? Thanks a lot,A.
Yesterday, Veeam released the Community Preview of the Hardened Repository ISO (Build 0.1.15).The ISO respectively the project was presented at the Veeam ON in Fort Lauderdale this year. I have been eagerly awaiting this installation ISO since the information was published. What is this Managed Hardened Repository ISO by Veeam? The Managed Hardened Repository ISO is an installation ISO to correctly install a Veeam Hardened Repository with Veeam’s best practices and a full hardening.Inside the installer you have to specify some settings, but everything else is predefined, so that after the guide guided installation you have a DISA STIG hardened repository. The whole thing without any further necessary adjustments. Benefits of the ISOThe biggest benefit of the ISO is that you don’t have to make any further customizations or run any scripts (the system is already hardened through the customized installer). There is no root user. Due to the use of Rocky Linux as the base, you have 10 years
Hi everyone, I'm using Veeam for quite a while now but recently we added some NetApp ONTAP devices to the storage infrastructure. And for each also a NAS Filer object under unstructured data. I can select a NAS Filer and create a file backup job easily. But I want to automate this if possible.I can use Get-NetAppHost to get the ONTAP device and then use Get-VBRUnstructuredServer combined with Get-VBRNASServerPath but I can't link it all together… Also, when I look at an already configured job I cannot reverse engineer this to usable PS code. Can someone point me in the right direction to create a file backup job of a share on a NAS filer with PowerShell?

It's looking odds lot of files.I want to show it as the previous one in a single file. Is it possible? pls check the image. Thanks,Biplob
