Does the Veeam Media Creation tool depend on the host OS when creating the bootable ISO or does the Veeam Media Creation tool contain everything it needs?None of the ISO’s that are created on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 24H2 PC’s can connect to the Veeam backup server to perform a Bare Metal Recovery but they can ping the server’s name and IP when using Tools → Command Prompt.I posted detailed info, with the errors, here:https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-agent-for-windows-f33/recovery-media-does-not-work-v6-3-t97990.htmlI’m wondering if the IoT edition of Windows (or maybe version 24H2 in general) doesn’t come with something, that other Windows editions/versions do come with, that’s required during the media creation process.Has anyone else ran into this issue or know how to troubleshoot to find out specifically why the connection to the B&R server is not being made? Below is an image which shows and odd build number of Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 24H2: Below is an image which s
Hello, Thanks, How can i use VBR to backup a VM on windows 11?https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/hyperv/system_requirements.html?ver=120
Hello, I am currently in a battle with VBV - Veeam Backup ValidatorAs has been my experience, the health check of an agent backup job is done by the machine running agent. That, for some reason, the VBR itself cannot perform this function; even though the agent is managed by the VBR and the VBR has full access to the backup repositories. As I run my veeam over tailscale, when my laptop is outside the home LAN, the health check takes many time longer than the backup job itself. So I am try to come up with a workaround. using VBV, to offload the health check to a machine inside the LAN.So far, very frustrating, I cannot seem to use /backup flag on a backup job that does not contain a VM.I did tried to set /vmname to the name of machine running agent, but never worked. Is that correct?"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Backup\Veeam.Backup.Validator.exe" /backup:abp_theen10_falconerPolicy selected, provide one vmname you want to check. So far, the workaround seems to be hardcoding t
This warning occurs when a time shift is detected in the Hardened Repository regardless of the deployment type used. In this article, the focus is on “VHR ISO”. This is a safeguard against immutability manipulation that can also be triggered by intentional time changes etc. But in my case, it was as a result of extended shutdown. As you can see below, the backup job completed with warning(s).Did a little troubleshooting and found the root cause. Please, see the error message for more information ‘A problem occurred during setting the immutable flag: repository time shift detected, immutability flag cannot be set. Please refer to KB4482 for more details.”If you are using the Veeam Hardened Repository ISO, this solution is very easy to implement. All you need to do is connect to the VHR and in the in the Configurator Main Menu, use the Reset time lock option as shown below. Now that the Timeshift reset is successful, please rerun the backup job again. As you can see, it completed without e
Hi!We have Kasten10 Operator installed on top our OpenShift. We have 5 worker nodes, so we should have been licensed: "Veeam Kasten has two free editions: a five-node version (no time limit) and the Enterprise Trial version, which provides up to 500 nodes for one month. Both are fully featured. "Since today, we cannot login to kasten10 GUI, it just stay on login screen, doesn’t do anything..In log I’ve found:“[0] tcp.0: [[1742911413.740498230, {}], {"File"=>"kasten.io/k10/kio/license/license.go", "Function"=>"kasten.io/k10/kio/license.(*License).LicenseExpired", "Level"=>"info", "Line"=>306, "Message"=>"License currently expired”I don’t know if it is for “starter-license” or “trialstarter-license”.Can enybody help us with this matter. Thanks!
When trying to add VBR to Veeam ONE and you run into the following error “failed to connect to VBR: Veeam ONE supports Veeam Backup and Replication and Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager version 10 Update 1 and later”Then, while tryin to perform this upgrade, you run into the following “Setup has detected inconsistent configuration: some Veeam ONE components are missing. Remove the installed Veeam ONE components manually and start the setup wizard again”.I have got you covered from start to finish with the following guide “Install Veeam ONE and Add VBR: Fix failed to connect to VBR”.
Hi, I am setting up a Linux Hardened Repository for our backups and have followed @HannesK ‘s very good instructional videos found here: https://www.veeam.com/blog/rocky-linux-veeam.htmlI got everything done on the setup of the Rocky Linux machine, however I cannot get it added into Veeam Backup an Replication Console. It gets stuck on this part It is exactly the same error as this forum post however, I am not being successful What I have tried so far:I have disabled the firewall on the Rocky Linux machine: Same errorI have added the user to the Wheel Group to give it Sudo permissions: Same errorI have as suggested in that link chose the less secure linux and not one-time password option… which then gives me the error same as this. https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-replication-f2/problem-setting-up-linux-repository-t75144.html The setup is Veeam Version 11 latest build P20240304Rocky Linux 9.5 I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me to try.
Hey Folks,Perhaps this is a feature request or maybe people have their own way of doing this. It sometimes happens that I am doing a post and get distracted or have to leave it. Then for whatever reason I lose the post (dumb laptop shutdown but not only). So first of all to the Community Managers, is there any chance we can get a save draft functionality here?If not what do other people here do? Or do you simply sit down right the post and click create?Copying and pasting from word does not work well and I am assuming creating in .md format to paste in would be best. In that case what markdown editor do you use?
I am currently in the process of migrating several hundred TB of data (millions of files), and while it’s taking a long time due to the file count, I have noticed duplicate data and a very unorganized structure. This is causing me issues, requiring manual verification, and I have also encountered incorrect permissions. Here are a few tips when archiving your data for the long term to avoid these issues. 1) Implement Proper Naming ConventionsConsistent and meaningful naming conventions are essential for long-term data retrieval. Five, ten, or even twenty years from now, poorly named archives will create challenges. Establish, maintain, and adapt a structured naming system to prevent data from becoming unusable due to disorganization.2) Use Compression to Optimize Storage and PerformanceUploading and managing millions of small files can be inefficient, expensive, and time-consuming. Compression helps mitigate this issue, especially when leveraging cloud storage or archiving to tape. How
I don't get it.I have backup and replication Enterprise.I backup my VMware servers to a local storage and then I want to backup copy them to Azure storage blob (Hot). All I can see in backup and replication is the option to connect to an exsisting backup in Azure. If I try to create a new storage with folders, Veeam cannot see the folder.I read somwhere that I must deplot an enterprise app in Azure to create this folder. Is this really true? Can someone please give me some direction?
My inhouse system & handful of remaining customers all have almost identical configurations. They all have Community v12.0 but all will likely go to Foundation. Each has:Production Host Hyper-V Server MS Server 2019 Replication Target Hyper-V Host MS Server 2019 Win10 Backup Server with Veeam Console Ubuntu Immutable Storage unit. Since the Win10 unit is also my local Admin unit it is on the domain. Several of the Production Servers are also on the Domain before I received the info. Problems encountered:When I setup the last Replication Target, I took the previous Production Host and removed it from the domain. It lost all knowledge of Hyper-V and existing VMs. No problem on that as I just resetup from scratch. Don’t want to do that with a Production Host if possible. I’m sure removing the Win10 Backup Server/Console/Admin unit from Domain will make a mess. I don’t mind resetup as I’m going to install Foundation v12.3 but wonder what I should do on existing machines. Remove Hosts f
At the beginning of March, we completed a cycle of 2025 intakes in the Veeam Community when members of this year's Veeam Vanguard class were notified of obtaining their Veeam Vanguard status. It's always difficult to select the limited number of individuals who can join each year's class of this longest running community program at Veeam - we're entering our 11th year! Fortunately, we receive many great applications, but given the nature of our community, we need to keep it consistent and allow all members to get to know each other through the various initiatives and opportunities we offer them throughout the year. And that's just a fraction of the many benefits that come with membership in any of the Veeam 100 Community programs.Bigger PictureWe often use terms like Vanguard, Legend, VeeaMVP interchangeably with Veeam100. Why is that? At Veeam we have 3 different types of community programs - Veeam Vanguards and Veeam Legends are dedicated to our external technical advocates who are n
I’ve encountered a couple of issues with B&R and I’d like to start from scratch. I’m contemplating renaming my old B&R server VM and creating a new VM with a freash OS and Veeam B&R install since my current B&R server has been updated many times and was switched from Microsoft SQL to PostgreSQL.Is there a way to export/import only the Credintails & Passwords? I want to manually add all of the other info into the B&R server because one of the issues I’m encountering seems to be database related.Issues:I replaced a physical workstation that uses Windows Agent. I reinstalled the old SSD into the new computer. I renamed the PC. Everything works, including Veeam Agent backups but I noticed that email alerts and Malware scan related errors still reference the old computer name even though the new pc name is displayed in the B&R control panel. Since enabling Veeam Threat Hunter, I get the following email alerts: [Error] Malware analysis session has failed unex

Hi, I have an M365 environment with about 600 Users. I have divided my backup jobs into 2, Outlook and OneDrive, but for a long time the backup jobs are working but not progressing. What should I do?
Using 12.3Is there a way to restore a DB to a CIFS share? I have a MS SQL VM that points to a CIFS share location on our NetApp SAN. When I try and do a restore I cannot specify the Database files target location to anything other that a drive the server sees as local, meaning not a cifs share, or a network mapped drive.
Hello,Someone can explain what is Data processed, read and transferred?
General Recommendations Platform Memory and CPU Over-commitmentFirst and foremost, memory over-commitment is not recommended in OpenShift. However, Red Hat recommends overall CPU over-commitment ratio must not exceed 1.8x of the number of physical cores and that memory usage may not exceed 0.9x of the physical memory available in a cluster. This rule is applicable to the ratio of CPU allocation to all of the pods to physical cores available in a cluster.NOTE: CPU over-commitment leads to throttling, so slowness of all workloads on the impacted node. Thereby workloads can be more or less sensitive to that.✅More Information about CPU Ready HereGeneral rules for the vCPU:pCPU ratio ⚙️🧠:✅ 1:1 to 1:3 → No problem 😌⚠️ 1:3 to 1:5 → Performance may start to degrade 🐢📉🚫 1:5 or higher → Likely CPU Ready issues 🔴🧯 Storage and Network LatencyVarious kinds of applications are more or less sensitive to latency on network and/or storage. I do restore VM to Azure local, the VM is showing in the azure local node and on the azure cluster. But anyone know why the VM is not visible in the azure portal?
When will version 13 come out?Is there going to be a linux version? Im interested in migrating away from Microsoft SQL with v12 so Im assuming the Linux version will take care of that too.

Hello folks!I was jumping across the licensing page from Veeam for Salesforce: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup_salesforce/userguide/licensing.html?ver=30And in the section where it mentions all the users that do not need the License it does not mention: “Customer Community Login”The question here is, do we need to license them? This comes into my mind as the Partner Community, Customer Community and Customer Community Plus are not required. Thanks in advance!
