I started a file restore which is taking a long time to come back with the file explorer so in the mean time my veeam session times out. How do I get back to that restore session? If that makes sense.

Are you using one of the Explorers or did you start the restore from the Veeam console?  Just log in to the console and you should see it running still.

By default, FLR sessions in Veeam have a timeout setting of 600 seconds (10 minutes). If needed, you can extend or reduce this timeout by modifying the Windows Registry on the Veeam Backup server.

HKLM\software\veeam\veeam backup and replication

InactiveFLRSessionTimeout

Type: reg_dword

Value: is in seconds, default is 600

Hi,

what is method is written in to log of restore? its VIX or RPC connection?

if its over VIX and you are trying to restore many files then is normal that is frozen

second issue could be with permission, what kind of user are you using

it would be fine if you could provide log from FLR session to see more
