HelloI have 4 VM on 4 different physical servers with Veeam Backup&Replication community edition v12.1.56.In my system, I have a VM under debian 12 which is used as Postfix SMTP relay for all my servers. Internally, everything goes through port 25 and all my servers send mail to this relay without identification or password. The relay then sends everything to my dedicated office365 mailbox.In less than 1 day, 2 of my Veeam VMs stopped sending me mail.So every time I run the test mail, I get the message: Unable to connect to SMTP server because of invalid credentials or connection settings.I've compared the smtp configuration with that of the 2 servers that are still working, apparently I haven't seen any anomalies and everything is identical. Hey Community -Let’s start off the Group by sharing some of the ways you use which best helps you prepare for the VMCE.I’ll start:For me, first and foremost, I follow the VMCE Exam Guide. From there, I go through the vSphere User Guide from top to bottom….yep, you read that correctly, from top to bottom...and read through only what I call the high-level sections of it for those sections I’m least familiar with.What is a “high-level” section? They are the sections which generally start with “About <topic/section>”, for example, About Backup, or How Replication Works, etc. I then go on to the Limitations and Considerations of each section. I rarely go through the actual install/implementation steps (these are what I consider “deep-level” sections), unless I’ve never done so in my environment or lab.After I do the above, I then go through and skim through sections of the Guide I am most familiar with just for review as there are generally quite a few detailed things I’ve forgotten.L

I have a Veeam instance on the google cloud using there deployment which I'm using to backup some instances to a bucket. I want to be able to backup my on prem servers to the same bucket. is it possible to connect the servers to the Veeam google instance? Do i need to install an agent to be able to do this? or can I just point the instance to my on prem servers?

Hello everyone,I'm new to this forum and using free Veeam agent on windows 10 and 11 to make a full backup to a synology DS224+ NAS. Both on latest firmware/version.But after the step finalizing the snapshot, I get the error message that veeam could not resolve the IP of the cifs share. But I can access the share via explorer and the veaam configuration files are safed to this share. So it's working.Did not find any threads for this problem.Appreciate your help and tipps!Best regards
Hello,I am encountering a warning on my Veeam backups that Veeam "Cannot find EFI boot manager entry for EFI System Partition". The backups are otherwise successful.I am running Manjaro Linux, which I realize is not formally supported. I used Veeam successfully some time ago without issues, experimented with other backup solutions for a while, then came back to Veeam because honestly nothing works as well or as simply as it does. The last time I used Veeam, I was running a 5.x version, and I’ve since started using 6.1.0.1498.Here is some more detailed information about my issue:Specific Problem: When performing a Full System backup, Veeam will complain that it "Cannot find EFI boot manager entry for EFI System Partition GUID” followed by the GUID of my system’s EFI partition. Tengo algunas consultas, he implementado varios repositorios inmutables, en el camino me he encontrado con el dilema de que distribución es mejor para ello y me he centrado en dos: Ubuntu Server y Red Hat.Algunos colegas me indican que mejor es Red Hat sin embargo veo muchos temas que hablan del uso de Ubuntu Server… ¿Qué creen ustedes, cual sea mejor? Adicionalmente, validando las buenas practicas, que entre ellas esta quitar el usuario del grupo sudo, que la maquina no sea virtual sino física, deshabilitar el ssh y no usar ntp públicos, etc. ¿Qué recomendación adicional pueden sugerir?

I need to migrate 12 Windows Server 2016 from Hyper-V to vcenter, can I do this with Veeam just restore from the last Hyper-v backup to vcenter?
I’ve recently gone through the process of upgrading my Veeam implementation from v11 to v12. Everything has upgraded correctly and I’ve even managed to get a hardened repository server upgraded successfully. My problem is that although all configured jobs are quite happily running and successfully completing under v12, the physical Veeam server running as an agent backup job fails. This was working previously before the upgrade. Is there any solution to this issue.

Dynamic Dan is keen to leverage new features in Veeam. At present he has 10 VBR servers over in 10 different locations all connected by the fast corporate VPN. For convenience sake he leverages Enterprise Manager to provide at a glance access to all of his VBR servers and RBAC capabilities. 2 weeks ago his company for the first time in 4 years acquired a new location and Dan was quick to install a new VBR server. However, when back at the head office he is having issues adding this VBR server to VEM. What could be the problem?

On 9 April 2024 veeam agent for linux backup stopped working.On two machines with same error.Veeam Agent for Windows still working fine to same QNAP target.Two machines with problem:Xubuntu 22.04 LTS: 5.15.0-102-genericXubuntu 20.04 LTS: 5.15.0-102-genericon both machines this version:Veeam Agent for Linux v6.1.0.1498QNAP TS-251+ newest Firmware: 5.1.6.2722Backup to two samba shares with two separate users on the QNAP.So I thought this is a problem with the QNAP and restarted the QNAP, but still same problem.Firmware update to newest qnap firmware - no improvement.Manually I can mount both samba backup shares withsudo mount -t cifs -o username=USER //192.168.178.255/sharename /mnt/testor withsmb://192.168.178.255/sharenameEven a reinstall of Veeam on the Xubuntu 22.04 did not help.But veeam cannot mount the CIFS/SAMBA, so backup fails.So maybe there is a version issue with SMB?!Wha
