VMCE - ADO v1 Exam

@Nolzzz , as @Chris.Childerhose already mentioned, not much to find on internet for this exam. I can give you 2 extra links : VMCE-ADO Flash Cards - rhyshammond.com and Veeam VMCE-ADO practice exam - Backitup.online. Good luck with the exam. I did it a couple of years ago, I passed the first time, but it’s very hard, so be prepared ;-)

Poll : immutable object storage appliances

thx @Mildur , like you are more or less in the same boat. We will first put a copy of VCC on the object storage, then normally migrate VBO365 from Azure to the object storage (indeed not yet immutable, I asked during VEEAMON 2021, but not yet a date - first a copy job in VBO365 will be available soon) and then BaaS as immutable capacity tier for the tenant ;-)

I have new Veeam Server with imported backup's, how to make a full restore from the imported backup ?

Hi @tomi.petrovski , just choose restore from the upper menu and choose your imported backup. Or navigate to your imported backup (disk imported) and choose restore. More information : Step 1. Launch Full VM Restore Wizard - Veeam Backup Guide for vSphere Good luck!

@tom, no, you have imported the backups, so VBR can read them and restore from the backup-file. Exporting is not necessary.

Thx @coolsport00 for sharing. Didn’t know and interesting to know, alsmost all customers are running ESXi on SAS disks or SSD disks in RAID-1, but there are exceptions running on SD-cards...

Great question @haslund ! Most of us are using Veeam every day and know the products very well, the most of us are VMCE certified and some of us VMCA certified, so we have to know it very well! But regarding to those questions, it’s nice and good that we have to doublecheck, perhaps having doubts about the correct answer. Afterwards when we are sure about the correct answer we will definitely remember it better than before! Nice, I love those daily questions! A good preparation for our VMCE 2021 exam ;-) !

Error when adding hyper-v 2019 standalone on veeam B&R 11 installed in windows server 2016

Hi @akd79 , as @MicoolPaul already mentioned, perhaps a DNS-issue. Try to use always at first FQDN, verify if a A-record and PTR-records exists in DNS with the correct ip-address. If that is not working, try with IP-Address.Doublecheck if nothing wrong is configured in the hosts file of the VBR server.Success

@haslund , personally I don’t like using backup jobs using spaces. As a best practice I don’t use spaces. Why? When you have to move manually files to or from a scale-out backup repository, you have to rename those files : annoying. More info : KB2236: Manually moving backup files to or from a Scale-Out Backup Repository (veeam.com) So I recommended using following allowed characters : Allowed alphanumeric characters: a-z, A-Z, 0-9 Allowed special characters: _ - . + = @ ^ The path and .VBM file must not contain spaces. If the path or the .VBM file contain spaces, replace them with underscores. As a max. length : 260 characters as others already mentioned, but I don’t find it as official in the helpcenter where it should be ;-)Also don’t use use reserved names as a naming convention : Naming Conventions - Veeam Backup Guide for Hyper-V
