Error with Backup Copy Jobs

Hello Forum,I’m getting this weird error now: What could be a cause for this, two Backup Jobs finished successfully and now I get this error and its stuck.

Numerous Backup Cache Issues

So I’m am basically a day or two away from taking the time and going through and disabling the backup cache across all of my customers, it causes way too many problems. But thought I’d try asking here as a last resort since Veeam’s support seems useless as usual and my R&D forum posts aren’t getting any responses. I have had various cache related issues, especially since the ridiculously buggy V12 update, but here this past week it’s been especially bad. I have about 20 computers, that I know of right now, which are failing to upload the backup cache to the VCC server. As such these computers have not been backing up. At first I thought maybe they just needed some time to catch up or something, but it’s been over a week now and they’re not even modifying the files in the VCC repository. (Side note, yes, I did go look at the files, because it’s useful, even though Veeam says there’s no reason I should ever need to look at the files.)Seems there’s numerous different errors and behavi

Veeam Backup and Replication + Synology

Is there any best practices when implementing these two into work?Currently we have it setup as a SMB share folders and Veeam is sending backups to it.I did a little bit of research and saw that people are using ISCSI and connecting Synology drive to Windows Server and using it like that. As I can see they are using ReFS File System.What would be the best optimization when we have Veeam + Synology in our Environment.Veeam B&R and our main Synology are located in the same location within same subnet.After that main Backup is done we have a Backup Copy Job trough IPSec to our Branch Office where we also have Synology NAS with SMB share.With ISCSI I saw that people are using FastClone and I’m not familiar with it at all. What is the use of it?Any advices are welcomed 😀

VEM API QuickBackup

Windows FLR restore via powershell - multiple vms

First time sharing, so feedback is much appreciated. There is a lot improvement possible but this short script did the trick. A while ago we came across an issue after automation made some unforeseen changes to the vm. Therefore I was tasked with the restore of a system file from +1000 vms from a specific date (not the last backup)VBR backup  Agent backups Netapp snapshot onlyThe CSV file exists out the vm name & backupjob name for the VBR & Agent restores. Best practices and tips for cloud immutability configuration

Get the size of a daily incremental

For those doing forever forward incremental jobs, this is a handy scrip to see the size of your jobs each day. If you use Synthetic jobs, or reverse incremental you may get unexpected results as your latest file will be the full backup file.  While doing some planning for new storage I wanted to see how big a daily backup of all jobs on a proxy was.Here is a little script I came up with that you can modify the section “Current.Date.AddDays(-1)” to look back further. I may modify the code at a later time to fine tune this.  This worked well to go back a few days, then see the average daily size. Get Veeam for Azure pending updates from API

Hi all, Currently there's no indication other then on the VBA appliance itself that there are pending updates. Therefore I created a PS script which we integrated into our monitoring system (N-Central) that pulls this data from the appliance. Veeam Backup for Azure - Azure Files scheduling no yearly retention option

Hi All,Why does Veeam Backup for Azure (Azure Files) have no scheduling option for yearly retention?Is this in some way related to the Azure only allowing up to 200 snapshots on Azure Files? In which case would a feature like we have with VM snapshots being used to create a more traditional backup be worth thinking about if you require longer term archiving? Cheers,

Veeam v12 and Data Domain - possible cleanup issues

I have a customer on Veeam v12 which backs up to Data domain. Veeam performs a copy job to another mtree, then the DD performs a DD replication to a central immutable DD.Customer has space issues but we are seeing old veeam backup files still on the DD. We did a delete from disk for an old backup, but the file is still on the DD.Any recommendations or seen this sort of behaviour?I’m questioning whether Veeam is cleaning up old data. Backup copy retention is only 5 days.

Near-zero Replication for Veeam Repositories

In this demo I illustrate how you too can utilize the Pure Storage platform to provide rapid recovery and near-zero replication for your Veeam repositories.This lab consists of 2 Pure arrays, 2 vSphere clusters and a single VCenter. Though in this lab we could use other means to provide recovery, say through vSphere, this setup up was used to simply illustrate an easy to use and efficient DR strategy from Production to a DR cluster. Utilizing, Veeam.In this lab I built 2 Veeam servers. The first holds the Veeam Backup Server, proxy, and primary repository. The second runs the Veeam Disaster Recovery (VDRO) server and is the remote repository. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 - Azure/Entra Application Creation Script

A long time ago, my colleague @StefanZi  had provided a Powershell script to create the necessary Azure/Entra appplicaton to be used in Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. In the meantime, new permission requirements have been added to this application and the Powershell cmdlet AzureAD will also be retired next year (see here), and one of my Powershell scripts also requires the automated creation of an application in Azure/Entra.These were enough reasons for me to update the script. So what's new?- Use of the Microsoft Graph Powershell Module- Revise and add permissions- Adaptations to the text (e.g. adapted product name)- Optimize outputAnd the good news are.
