I am sure someone else will find this blog post very useful. I have been doing extensive research since I created this blog post below. So I purchased Beelink EQ12 3x recently. Beelink EQ12 mini PC since it has an Intel 12th Alder Lake-N100 processor (4C/4T, up to 3.4GHz, 25W TDP), delivers 25% more power than N5105. The low power consumption makes this mini-computer great for light work, 4K video playback etc. At this time, this Mini PC costs 329.00, and there is a promotional voucher of 45 euros. So it will be about 284 euros. Other Additions- Got a TP-Link TL-SG108E 8-Port Gigabit Switch (Plug and Play, Gigabit Ports, VLAN, QoS)- A Synology 923+ [I got this due to my Veeam Legend and vExpert status]. AI and How to Detect it manually in IT sites

Hi Everyone,I posted a while back about some free sites that help you detect AI generated text.There are also manual methods to detect it. I for one have noticed that the intros all tend to be very similar in structure and phrase use. Another aspect of AI generated text in English is the over use of “the”. I am not against using AI as a tool but don’t think it is a good idea to create AI blogs and then claim authorship. I had a conversation with one AI expert this weekend who said that in the long run the people who stay real will win. As humans get more used to detecting AI it will get the “spam in a can” reputation and will become the mental fast food of the blog world, potentially with a warning from the Surgeon General “loss of brain cell risk if used excessively or consumed not in moderation” :) . Quick performance tip for single repository (Windows) users with a single or spanned volume.

I’m planning on making a better writeup with my settings and some photos, but for now this is on my mind after helping someone today. I often see Veeam setups with 1 large datastore / volume in Windows for their repository. Other times quite often it will be multiple disks spanned into a single logical Volume, lets call it D:\. You can still get good performance like this, and the simplicity is quite nice, but can it be better? If you have some spare storage kicking around I encourage you to try this in your lab. Run your benchmarks on this single volume (D:\) record your results and then then delete the logical and physical volume. Create 3 new equal sized volumes with matching logical volumes. Lets call them E:\ F:\ and G:\. Next run IOMeter or your favorite benchmarking tool. Make sure you are pushing the queues to see the benefits of multiple physical/logical volumes. The next thing you can do is check and modify queue depth on the adapters and Windows server. With a large backu

USB Storage over the Network!

Hi CommunityToday I’ve spent my time in our lab and I realised I made a mistake by choosing a bucket without immutability in our backup job.So I dedicated some time looking into how I could move backups to another repository in Veeam B&R Console.Before I started, I wondered why I would want to use the 'Move backup' function in a production environment.I said to myself that it might be necessary to do this in such cases as: Wrong configuration in a backup job Backup repository is close to full capacity. I must replace my repository (because out of warranty). Backup job policies are changed (immutable backup request or different policy needed). “Move Backup” operation permit to continue to use the same Job, moving backup files to a new backup location, and keeping job history and backup chain. With the recent announcement that Hyper-V is strategic to Microsoft, as the main focus of Server 2025 you can imagine I've spent more time on the topic than usual lately. I normally don’t post on here, but I figured I'd share. When the job ran, no files and only a few folders had been processed. When I browsed the backup, the folders I was critically aiming to protect were all missing.Upon further investigation of the share, the folders weren’t “actual” folders, but were instead unsupported symlinks. I discovered this because I attempted to change the scope of the backup job to a particular subfolder to confirm access. When I tried this, I received the following error message:Unable to backup root folder <Folder Name>: folder is unavailable.
