La giornata mondiale del backup vuole sensibilizzare tutti coloro che non hanno mai fatto un backup facendo capire l’importanza della sua applicazione. C’è anche qualcuno che non sa neanche di cosa si stia parlando. Quando parlo di qualcuno intendo non solo le singole persone con i loro dispositivi che utilizzano quotidianamente (PC, smartphone e altri accessori IoT) per salvare documenti, video o immagini personali, ma anche di attività commerciali o di servizi dalle più piccole a quelle di medio-piccole dimensioni. Personalmente, se avessi una attività commerciale gestita anche da solo, non vorrei che tutti i miei dati andassero persi per un motivo qualsiasi. Hi all, I’m working to understand more about question in object. In specific I start from @regnor blog using StoreOnce. If I set an immutability ends in 3 years but a customer want to exit from this service after 2 years what are the correct ways to remove all backup data after export? I know good start is to have xx days (30?) for immutability but if customer wants GFS policy up to 3 years immutable how can I operate? I know this is a MSP based question for this I hope someone can help me.Thanks.
Buongiorno Community. Vorrei avere le vostre esperienze, e capire come si muovono gli italiani, sul repository di tipo object, che con la versione 12 può essere usato anche come primario. Le vostre impressioni, perchè usate un cloud provider piuttosto che un altro. Inizio dicendo che in base alle mie esperienze, e alle volte anche alle elucubrazioni mentali dei clienti, si usa uno storage piuttosto che un altro. Quindi CC, AWS e GCP nella maggioranza dei casi e Wasabi per i clienti con meno esigenze e che richiedono sicuramente di risparmiare. Voi cosa utilizzate? Ci sono altri provider meno noti ma che stanno crescendo? Fatemi sapere. GRazie
Hi all,today I checked and solved a Veeam One issue during Veeam M365 data collection.This is the scenario:1 Veeam M365 in AWS cloud with its DNS_HOSTNAME 1 Veeam One customer on-premIn Task and Events tab I see the error:Fired by event: VeeamEventCollectionFailedEventEvent description: Failed to collect events data for object AWS_HOSTNAME. The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)Initiated by: Veeam ONE Monitor (ONESERVER-NAME)The RPC service is running on both hosts.From the ONE server I can ping the DNS_HOSTNAME and telnet on needed ports are ok (Firewall is ok).Why I’ve bolded DNS_Hostname?Because it’s different from AWS_HOSTNAME. This difference cannot permit to use RPC connection and start collection data.What’s my solution?Added AWS_HOSTNAME in host file on Veeam ONE server with DNS IP Address and collection starts properly.I hope this solution can help someone. Hi folks, I have a little doubt about this kind of backup and I need to clarify it. Our client ask us what’s happens when there are users in multiple groups, and a backup job for single group. I know Veeam manages the backup to avoid unnecessary duplication and save storage space. Is correct to say if a user is in multiple groups and these groups include overlapping items (for example, the same mailboxes or SharePoint sites etc), Veeam takes an approach to avoid duplicate backup?But really question is: In these cases VEEAM send a warning for those backup jobs? I never tested it and I appreciate your experiences in O365 backup.Thanks all

Ciao Community, dopo quanto riportato nel thread italiano Corso VMCE e anche sul mio blog VMCE Course riguardo alle esperienze sui corsi VEEAM posso finalmente fregiarmi delle certificazioni Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) Veeam Backup & Replication v11: Architecture and Design (VMCA 2022)Devo dire che il tempo per la preparazione agli esami è stato lungo anche a causa delle attività lavorative ma ieri è stata una mattinata intensa. L’esame VMCE è realmente calato nel normale utilizzo quotidiano del prodotto in tutte le sue sfaccettature. Domande sui backup, sulle repliche, su Veeam One, un paio di piccoli scenari (tra cui anche uno in cui la risposta non era legata al prodotto ma a una conoscenza di rete...anche se poi ad esclusione delle altre sarebbe stato facile arrivarci lo stesso), un paio di sottigliezze legate alle voci di menu ecc. L’architect è veramente tosto. scenario da leggere e rileggere, appunti presi e ho speso almeno 30 minuti dei 120 a disposizione solo per capi
