Hi, I’m currently using K10 in a “no-local, all S3” policy, meaning that every local snapshot made for backups has to be immediatley deleted once it has been exported to S3, as seen here : I have no problems with backups whatsoever, but I do have a pile (1700+) of VolumeSnapshots that are not deleted. Forgive me, as this isn’t strictly a Veeam topic, but I’m pulling my hair out.I’m trying to enhance a Windows Update Powershell script. My problem is it requires an ‘IUnknown ISearchCompletedCallback’ object to be passed as one of the parameters. What is Health Check?A health check is a planned process within a backup or backup copy job that helps ensure the data integrity of the backup chain. When Veeam Backup & Replication initiates a health check, it performs a CRC check for metadata and a hash check on VM data blocks.CRC Check stands for Cyclic Redundancy Check. It is an error detection algorithm used to check whether data is corrupted during transmission or storage. This algorithm calculates a CRC value from the sent data and adds this value to the end of the data. The receiving party calculates the same CRC value from the data it receives and compares it with the sent CRC value. If the two values match, it means the data is transferred or stored intact. Actually, the IBM tape library is physically connected to Veeam backup server in our environment, but when i configure tape library through Veeam server console, what i enter the server details means IP or hostname.because Veeam backup server and tape library IP is different, so what should be enter for tape library configuration.i did the backup server IP then drive is not reflected in Veeam console, but i checked computer management the tape drive is available on device manager. what is the issue, please suggest.
Hello!I am new here, hope you don't mind my ignorance!!I am looking for some detailed steps/instructions to implement and achieve my data backup goals for a personal/home based setting. I Have quite a few kinds of devices in my home. couple of windows laptops, couple of iPads, couple of iPhones, an android phone, may be a macbook pro in the future. I don't find it practical to connect separate USB external hard disks to each of these devices to back them up. So, what i am thinking to achieve instead is - if all of these devices can connect to a NAS, use one big drive say 6/8 TB and create individual folders to create separate backups of each of the devices, that is the ideal solution i am looking for. I haven't decided yet on what model of NAS do i need. Any recommendations welcome! I am planning to use this NAS device just for backing up my multiple devices in one place. I am not looking for active file sharing among the different devices. Also create a backup of the 6/8 TB NA

Buongiorno a tutta la community. Perchè si parla del Backup Day, perchè è stato istituito e come mai è stata scelta la data del 31 marzo? WORLD BACKUP DAYPerchè si parla del World Backup Day e perchè è stato istituito? La giornata mondiale del backup vuole sensibilizzare tutti coloro che non hanno mai fatto un backup facendo capire l’importanza della sua applicazione. C’è anche qualcuno che non sa neanche di cosa si stia parlando. Quando parlo di qualcuno intendo non solo le singole persone con i loro dispositivi che utilizzano quotidianamente (PC, smartphone e altri accessori IoT) per salvare documenti, video o immagini personali, ma anche di attività commerciali o di servizi dalle più piccole a quelle di medio-piccole dimensioni. Personalmente, se avessi una attività commerciale gestita anche da solo, non vorrei che tutti i miei dati andassero persi per un motivo qualsiasi. Il backup, noi lo sappiamo benissimo, è realmente lo strumento che ci può salvare da qualsiasi disastro.Chiaram

Hi everyone, With the year well underway, we’re planning on being very busy over here at Cloud City, and why not?We saw 2023 end with updates to all of Veeam’s cloud hyperscale data protection products, VB365 v8 round the corner, the official rebranding and 1.5 update to the Veeam Data Cloud, and we’ve not even made it to VeeamON yet for what Veeam have waiting up their sleeve! With this in mind there’s a lot to talk about, and a lot to share! So whilst @HangTen416 and I are finalising the virtual events calendar, we thought we’d kick off the call for papers. So, what do you want to share with the Veeam community this year?Either drop a comment below with a draft title and brief or if preferred send either Hin or I a private message on here to start the conversation. Hi Community team! I have a doubt regarding the availability of VDC 365 Data Residency in Brazil's South Azure Region. I didn´t find this information in the documentation.The service´s docs state that backup data created by Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 or Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft Azure can be targeted to and reside in any Azure region as end users request. Metadata is encrypted and stored in one of the following Azure regions: United States West. Are there any other advanced backup storage calculators kind of like the one Veeam has?Calculator - VM (veeam.com)I’m trying to get a good estimation of storage needs. Don’t get me wrong, you can probably never have enough storage 😂 but with that comes budget. The one from Veeam I’m using total amount of space taken by current VMs in the datacenter. It doesn’t take into account growth (additional VMs) or reduction (consolidation/removal of VMs). Our SAN is right around 90TB but remote datacenters have local stroages for VMs at about 3TB and 1.5TB respectively. Do I size based off SAN/local array storage?
