Hi Peter,Which programming language are you using?Here’s a PowerShell example where I have a filter similar to yours. Given the error code, my guess is your params variable is not parsing properly or your REST client is not encoding your request.Hope this helps!

Using Ansible, is it possible to automate DB2ConfigTool --wizard?

While  I’m unable to test this as I don’t have DB2 in my lab, in Veeam documentation, it mentions the configuration is stored in a configuration file as well as it lists configuration commands that can be used.https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/plugins/db2_configure.html?ver=120Ansible could leverage these commands or generate a configuration file using its templating capability.Hope this helps!

Veeam Collection for Ansible: v12.1 support

Wow!..nice share @Chris.Arceneaux !! Was working with Ansible a bit last summer..it’s no joke; and imo not a real easy code to work with. Appreciate the efforts! Thx! 😁It’s MUCH easier than other platforms that require coding in Ruby. Another pro is it’s one of the few Infrastructure as Code tools that supports PowerShell natively. I’d say the hardest part is learning the file structure and how it all fits together.

Collaboration Request - Ansible Collection for the Veeam Backup & Replication RestAPI.

That’s exactly where I saw the modules. Instead of the documentation added to the main README, I was planning on this information going in the docs directory (doesn’t exist currently). The documentation for the current role in this collection would be moved as well.This would bring things more in line with Ansible’s defined collection structure and would make it more easy to consume via Ansible Galaxy.

I want to hear your story! How did you start in Automation?

Great stories! Here’s mine:My first jaunt down programming lane was writing games and screensavers for my TI-83 Plus calculator in high school. My 10th grade math teacher was so monotone I had to do something else to keep my mind engaged, lol.Then, for some crazy reason, I went to college to be a network engineer instead of a developer but that enabled me to get a good bit of operations/architecture experience in the datacenter all the while scripting solutions to make my life easier.I’ll add that, like @Rick Vanover, I got started with VMware on VI3 which is actually where I began my linux journey way back in the day… 😁

Collaboration Request - Ansible Collection for the Veeam Backup & Replication RestAPI.

Understood. However, I’ll say that Ansible collections were designed so that all modules, roles, and sample playbooks of a product could be listed in a single collection versus having multiple disparate projects. What’s outlined here wouldn’t conflict/duplicate already existing content as the aforementioned collection is geared only towards Install/Patch/Upgrade and not configuring the software.However, I would like to see the module moved to the VeeamHub. If you change your mind, I’d be happy to host these modules within Ansible collection in the modules folder:https://github.com/VeeamHub/veeam-ansible/tree/master/plugins/modules

Verify access to the protected Teams API

@Mildur You inspired me! I used your code and wrote this:https://github.com/VeeamHub/powershell/tree/master/VB365-CheckTeamsProtectedAPI My code has the added benefit of not requiring parameters (TenantID/AppId/CertThumbprint) to be specified as long as the script is executed on the VB365 server. It also automagically installs required PowerShell module(s).I hope others in the community will find this useful!

Exporting M365 Mailbox to PST

Is there a command valid for all users? To retrieve all users, you wouldn’t specify the “Name” parameter in the Get-VEXMailbox cmdlet. That said, the script outlined in this post is designed to export a single user mailbox. Use case I had in mind was a business policy that requires mailboxes exported to PSTs for users no longer working at the company.

Enable encryption for all existing backup jobs using powershell

Veeam Easy Connect - making REST APIs a bit easier

Thanks for sharing! I’m a fan of Python as well. This serves as a great example on how to authenticate against both Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager RESTful APIs. I read through the code and wanted to share a few thoughts: - I recommend renaming your auth functions so it’s more clear which API you’re logging into. While I recognize the different ports specified in the URLs, it could cause confusion for others. - I recommend against disabling SSL/TLS verification by default. While it’s typically acceptable in lab environments, disabling this check enables a man-in-the-middle attacks to take place. This doesn’t mean you must change from a self-signed certificate but the Python requests library does support thumbprint verification which allows even self-signed certs to be trusted and verified.  Keep on coding and sharing! Thanks for sharing Chris.  This will come in handy for MSPs for sure. Agreed. I’ll also add this script can totally be leveraged using the new Remote PowerShell feature in VSPC v6.

Enforce Backup Job Basic Retention

@vNote42 I think my definition was sufficient:This script looks for both VMware Backup Jobs & vCloud Backup Jobs, retrieves their current retention setting (Restore Points), compares the retention against the published standard (joblist.csv), and adjusts the configuration where needed.Script allows you to do as mentioned which is enforce the number of restore points for each job. The workflow is pretty simple:if (Job RP count == Configured RP count) No changes are made else Job configuration is updated to match Configured RP count

Thanks! I’m not sure I understand the question. The script is to be executed on servers with Veeam Backup & Replication and/or Enterprise Manager installed. The script detects the software installed and upgrades it to version 11.
