VeeamON 2024 - Use Code "COMMUNITY10" for 10% Off!
We have a statement that it is not possible to install an agent on a VM running on a socket licensed host. For this reason I wanted to ask for any known cases that confirm this.
We want to perform an agent backup because of postrgres backup. The linux vm resides on an esxi host wich is licensed with a socket-license. Currently we do no vm backup for this vm.
I think i would backup my whole body with single item restore. I think that would help in the future :D
Hi,i think there is no audit out of the box for your specific installation. You can check the general patch history here: https://www.veeam.com/kb2680
Hi,the account does not matter. You only need a valid license.
One story: always remember your encryption key. If you use a password manager for it, be careful where you save your latest version. It can get uncomfortable if this is stored on the medium you want to recover. Of course, this story didn't happen to me myself. Told me by a friend :)
Maybe there can be problems if both servers backup the vm at the same time and the first snapshot is deleted before the second one. But I think you need to test this scenario :)
Very useful for our environment . Thanks for sharing with us!
