should I follow the same procedure in redhat from ubuntu , will it support Yes...the cmds provided in the Guide are linux-agnostic. The main difference is the package manager tool used. And, there are some package names required which are slightly different based on OS type.

@catchme.arul - ok...but where did you see that configuration specific for Veeam? If it’s not in the User Guide, then Veeam doesn’t recommend it. Again..the permission configuration shown in the user guide is linux-agnostic. Veeam recommends full user/owner permissions (a ‘7’), then no permissions for groups or others octels (both are ‘0s’). The fourth octel configuration, though I’ve seen it before, is not a needed permission to configure.

Permissions in the Veeam User Guide falls under Ubuntu section, but setting folder permissions is a universal setting, not an OS-specific setting...at least I’m pretty sure. I’ve trained on RH-based systems, but have Debian-based (Ubuntu) systems in-house...so I’m pretty sure that’s accurate, as I’ve configured folder/file permissions on both OSes the same way. Can you share where you got the RedHat config from?I recommend following permissions configuration as recommended in the Veeam User Guide.

DB2 Plugin Available Methods Or Commands

@PilotMark - I believe the DB2 cmd you list is a vendor-specific cmd to IBM and not the Veeam Plugin. Veeam Plugin commands appear to use the DB2ConfigTool command, as seen in the DB2 Plugin Guide.You can find DB2 commands in their Admin Guide here and here. Hope that helps.

Restricting Permissions on Repository Folder for more security

Follow the advice above, however, be very careful when playing with permissions cause if not done correctly you can cause a world of pain trying to fix them. I would look at the Best Practice stuff and implement roles and MFA on the server. My concern as well. Good advice!

As per the User Guide, you need to give Read/Write permissions (See SMB Share section). But, not sure doing so poses any benefit. Anyone who gains access to the VBR server could potentially wipe the files anyway, regardless if you give explicit permissions or not.

Ah ok..I see now. You have VBR on Host 1 and have replicated it as a type of backup on Host 2? So, you use 1 VBR VM to do it all, and it’s on the Host you’re going to rebuild? That in itself is tricky. You can’t really failover to your VBR VM because the VBR server you’d initiate the process with will go down because it’s on the Host you need to rebuild. So what I recommend is do a final backup and replication of everything, then disable all your jobs. Power down the VBR VM then migrate it over to Host 2. Then, power it on & re-enable your jobs and perform a failover like I shared above.At the very least, you can ping Veeam Support to verify the process you should take to accomplish what you’re wanting to do.

Hi @CzkLTPR -This could get a little tricky because of the Host rebuild. Reason is when you get your Host built and place VMs back on the Host (however you decide to do so), Veeam will see the VMs as ‘new’ because they will have received new MoRef IDs.After your Host is rebuilt, you’ll need to rescan it in VBR. I did something a little similar within vSphere several mos ago, and had a hard time getting my jobs to run correctly...they’d error out. I essentially had to recreate my jobs because VBR wouldn’t recognize my Hosts, even though I used the same hostname & IP. Support wasn’t able to assist either, aside from recommending to rebuild my jobs 🤷🏻‍♂️If your Host is seen ok, you should be able to do the following: I assume each VBR server not only backs up VMs on the side it’s on, but does Replication of VMs on the opposite side Host? At least, that’s how it should be set up. After your Host is rebuilt, for your Replication jobs, you can simply do ‘mapping’ to map the VMs to thei

Veeam Encryption (What) is the key ?

I use encryption currently, and thus far no issues, so long as you're using the same VBR with restores. In the event you have to recover on a new server, pwds must be known.Good article @marco_s

Hi @Godfrey matshai -Welcome to the Community. You should really create a new post with the question you have to get more visibility for assistance. Share as much details as you can. Are you using VBR? What kind of job is erroring out? Also, look at logs in:C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\<job-name>\###-Job.log file to see if there are any clues there.
