While I don’t feel like VMware is necessarily going anywhere, I do feel like it’s in Veeam’s best interests to be investing in alternative hypervisors because certainly a lot of people are going to be eyeballing other products with the Broadcom acquisition. And some people are very reactionary and will probably change. I feel like Nutanix (AHV) and Proxmox may be the ones to watch in this space. And probably some hyper-v. Thanks for your feedback @dloseke I will definitely share this with PM😀

Upgrading Nutanix AHV to V5 Failing

@jdower98 Root is not an account for the Nutanix AHV cluster unless you created one with that name. It is usually admin or an account with admin authority. Did you update the plug-in for v5.1 which is the latest release? This can be downloaded by the web or it is on the VDP 12 plug-in's directory. The download is easier to install since it is one executable - https://www.veeam.com/availability-nutanix-ahv.html?ad=downloads😀.

Was waiting for a long time for SureBackup to be compatible with Nutanix AHV, well thank you a big time for adding support. However, we really still need a full integration (run Nutanix AHV VMs on a Virtual Lab) not just scanning; this would really help us. would it be implemented in the upcoming versions? Played around in our lab with 9.14, had the exact same issue while backups without object lock are working fine. Hopefully they will fix it soon ;) agreed @MatzeB 😀

Discrepancy between used space in a bucket and Veeam?

Nutanix uses a curator process scan to delete objects see link below for more details. ONTAP 9.14.1 now supported with Veeam Data Platform 12.1.

NetApp has released ONTAP 9.14.1 P1 yesterday and ONTAP S3 Object Lock is now functioning with Veeam. They will be doing a Veeam Ready test in March so stay tuned🙂. Bucket creation (Figure 1) and job deletion (Figure 2) screenshots below.Figure 1Figure 2That’s all folks💪😎!

That is awesome and good news for NetApp users to have Object Lock. Wish I could use every technology out there to test. 😂 You would need a very large lab lol🤣

Yes. That would cause a problem for sure. I use to run Proliant servers in my basement that sounded like airplanes. There were no energy efficient power supplies in those days. I feel like a dinosaur now 😂

...I decided to play around with some designs for stickers. I know VUG Canada will provide their own official stickers for VUG Canada, but I thought “Why not have some fun and see what else I can come up with?” I was never really planning on releasing these into the wild, but I liked these so much I didn’t want them to go to waste. Here are some awesome, unofficial, in no way related to Veeam, VUG sticker designs for VUG Canada. Don’t use them, don’t even think about them, you’re not supposed to know they exist. Now forget what you just saw… we were never here. I need one for my whiteboard lol😂
