VeeamON 2024 - Use Code "COMMUNITY10" for 10% Off!
Such a good news! it’s unfortunately for tape support but from my experiences tape support works better with windows host. conf_drv could be a nightmare on linux.
I’m wondering cdp proxy is only available for windows?
Awesome content, already saw your first video. it gives so much idea about it. I need to think about how to map faster disk to read data in then process ita with python and push it into elasticsearch for science purpose :)
can’t wait to try kasten embbeded with veeam, openshift criticical data to backup will be on production in 2021 for us :)
@RCKaraoglu Thanks for your complete review, it will be useful for my reflections about exchange. We ‘r not in the same scenario, exchange are not VMs. Windows hosts are on Apolo Gen 9 4u FULL HDD with 4*25gb :)Can’t wait to be able to make some tests hehe
@regnor just mailbox data, 1PB2 with all copies
I miss the second part for automation, we use ansible for Linux and Windows. For example before the backup windows we generate temporary linux backup proxy to bring ephemeral backup power.
Hi @BertrandFR , First, you can position HPE Nimble or a similar product as the primary backup repo unit. As the second backup unit, you can position a product such as HPE Storeonce and copy your data to this unit and reduce your disk cost with the deduplication feature. Finally, you can keep your backups cold for a long time in the cloud environment as offsite or in an archiving unit. Hello @bynalbant , deduplication seems to be low on exchange data 2:1. What do you think about?
We use powershell to check jobs with Centreon (nagios like) So you trigger a powershell script out of Centreon and visualize the output there? Sounds good! Yes every useful informations / alarms should be send to centreon in our company to be processed by a team 24/7. In fact nothing very impressing, you can use nsclient to launched your posh script. The script ouput just have to be the nagios standard.

Noone is using the plugins for Oracle RMAN or SAP HANA and has experience with them? in current deployment for us for Oracle and Sap, we did some tests before. We don’t have enough experiences to provide some review at the moment
Great idea, fortunately such a repository already exists today: VeeamHub. This is stored on GitHub and you can find some examples already there: Surebackup-MySQLCheck Surebackup SSH Check Surebackup-vCenterCheck There are more inside so please do take a look For pre-freeze and post-thaw scripts they are in VeeamHub too and there are some examples already for MySQL, Novell, and SAP-Hana. Thanks i was looking for this in the past, i did some test to launch some awx/scheduler (vtom, rundeck) call
Thanks for the cool tool! How calculate with gfs? More restore points? Timo did write a good blog post about how to use RPS:http://blog.dewin.me/2015/08/getting-correct-input-into-rps.html Thanks for the reply, i was too much impatient :)

My POV: Linux repo XFS immutable linux LFR no more needed Curious to test CDP DBA pov: IR Oracle / MSSQL Still waiting more ansible/terraform supported cauz i love IAC. Linux proxy fonctionnality provides to us opportunity to deploy ephemeral proxy on the fly during backup windows to provide more power.
Thanks for the work, i already discover before on your blog. I Did the work to push metrics to graphite because we don’t have influx :)
