With the recent VMWare licensing consolidation and Broadcom moving to a subscription/core model, it has caused many SMBs to explore new options for a hypervisor. (such a shame.. pouring one out for my years of VMWare experience.) XCP-NG and ProxMox keep coming up in various communities. I personally have tested both and they perform really well. My only issue with them is that currently there is no native Veeam integration for the two platforms. Are there any plans for Veeam to support XCP-NG and/or ProxMox?

We’ve installed the SQL Server Plug-in on a couple of test boxes, but the Veeam toolbar isn’t showing up in SSMS when we open it up. Is there a trick to get it to show up so our DBA can manage Veeam backups from within SSMS?We installed the plug-in with an account that was in the local Administrators group. We right-clicked and selected “run as administrator” when we launched the installer. We went through the Veeam Plugin Configuration application. But after all of that, when we open SSMS the Veeam toolbar doesn’t show up like it does in all of the demo videos. Hi, everyone! I have a PowerShell script that I use to retrieve some information about the daily backup sessions. It works well, but I was trying to transition it from the Get-VBR-Job command to the Get-VBRBackup command. Everything works but the newer script is very slow; it went from a few seconds with the old script to 5-10 minutes with the new. I was wondering if anyone could give me pointers on a more efficient way to get the session information or otherwise speed it up. Hi Folks, What has your object storage journey with Veeam been like and at what stage are you at now?I started using S3 compatible the minute Veeam introduced it as capacity tier for Scaleout repos. I leveraged a 4 node Docker Swarm cluster with Minio. I chose Docker Swarm at the time as Minio advised to use containers for multitenancy and mentioned Kubernetes. I arrogantly thought I would read up over the weekend and on Monday get it going. That was not the case to say the least. Docker Swarm was much simpler and I eventually went with that. The solution worked well but my lack of deep understanding put some restraints on what I could do, not to mention that Docker Swarm, while being a solid solution did not have the incredible fine tuning capabilities that Kubernetes has.Since then it has been all Kubernetes and S3 never far behind. It got to the point where I simply had to defect to the S3 compatible side of the force completely 😁. So what was your journey, what are you using. What
Since we added Linux Repositories to our Veeam Backup environment in my post from last week, why not add some Linux Proxies as well? I will show you how in this post. And trust me…this one will be far less painless. But adding Repositories wasn’t so bad, was it? 😏 System RequirementsThe first thing you need to do is check what OS's, hardware, and software are supported. Supported Linux OS's are exactly the same as with Repositories and are listed below:Linux Proxy RequirementsAs far as hardware goes, your server should have a minimum 2-core CPU, plus 1 core per 2 concurrent tasks (take note, this is a peformance enhancement since v12, up from 1 core per 1 concurrent task); and minimum 2GB RAM, plus 500MB per concurrent task. But for best performance and to run multiple Jobs and tasks, you should have much more Cores and RAM than the minimum. Hello Guys,So i had a Hyper V server that was joined to the domain, and it was succesfully onboarded to veeam.Now it was removed from the domain and built-in local admin was renamed from "Administrator to new_username"Now we cannot onboard the sever to Veeam using the local admin with the new renamed name.I have updated the serverI have added the admin account to other admin groups on the serverUpdated WindowsStill no successAny suggestions would be helpful.
Hello, I have made upgrade from Licences 9.5b to 11a Community Edition without any Problem, but by upgrading to Version 12 Community Edition it gives me this: “[Error] Private fixes detected. Please contact our Customer Support to remove the following private fixes that are not supported by the new product version: TFS000100”There is no thread about TFS000100. In Registry there are no “Private fixes” found. Any idea?
I love this feature but with the thousands of file types I have I get a ton of false positives.Is there anyway to customize this “per server” with each file type? or disable for some servers/folders etc?When I mark a job as clean, it seems to find the files on the next job. I thought that it should assume those files to be ok going forward.

Hallo zusammen, mir ist in den vergangenen Tagen im Rahmen von Tests aufgefallen, dass das Password Change Date (bzw. die Angabe, wann Encryption Passwords das letzte Mal geändert wurden), nicht aktualisiert wird.Ich habe in meinem Lab Backup Jobs, die wie gehabt mit einem Encryption Password verschlüsselt sind. Innerhalb der bestehenden Jobs habe ich dann den Eintrag geändert und mir fiel auf, dass der Änderungseintrag nicht angepasst wurde. Auch wenn ich die entsprechenden Jobs dann alle einmal habe laufen lassen, blieben die Einträge gleich (zuletzt geändert vor 89 Tagen). Ich vermute hier einen Bug, ein Veeam Ticket habe ich bereits geöffnet und warte auf Feedback. Hat hier jemand ähnliche Erfahrungen? Den Tests zufolge wird das PW wohl geändert, jedoch der Eintrag des Änderungszeitpunktes nicht angepasst.
