Hello,

I will implement Veeam Data Cloud for back up our M365 services such as exchange, onedrive, sharepoint and ms.team and the daily operational will be handled by our backup administrator.

I have concern when we backup exchange mailbox, the backup administrator can ‘peek’ all the contents of the mailbox for all users.

So can we have separate administrator for daily backup and prevent this user to ‘peek the inbox and in same time assign special user who can restore the mailbox? It’s no problem for this special user can peek’ the mailbox, the special user maybe can our CTO.

Hi,

the RBAC model within VDC allows you to assign granular permissions. You could create a “Limited administrator” role that can perform backup job management and settings, but doesn’t have any restoration capabilities, and a separate restoration role with the ability to perform restorations. You can create as many roles as necessary to fit your needs.
