Hello,

If we not setup team chat this mean VDC only backup teams channel and teams group?

Also when click ‘set up teams chats’ there are information ‘may incur additional cost’.

Cost of what? Any calculation to estimate the extra cost?

Sorry @hs08 you’re looking at the wrong API costs here, we Link into a billing document in the page I sent you, here it is: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/teams-licenses?ad=in-text-link#modelb-requirements

This Link shows you the M365 report as well that you can run within your M365 tenant to get a cost estimate. At the time of writing the table in that article shows a price per message of:

$0.00075 per message

Hi @hs08 please read https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vdcm365/userguide/configure_team_chat_backup.html

in summary we protect Teams configuration data and permissions, the files, channels, tabs etc within VDCM365 but if you want the posts on your Teams channels, then it requires the Teams Chats API which is only available from Microsoft at a cost per API call.

hi @MicoolPaul

yes already read that article.

Just want to know how much extra cost will be billed if we activate this?

In the azure calculator i can see the price for Basic v2 API Management is @150.01/month per 10M limit.

it’s enough 10M per month?

Just want to ask when i try to make a backup, I can see only Mailbox, Archive Mailbox, OneDrive and Site is showing. How about the ms.teams, included also?

Hi, you’re looking at a group, a group’s members can have mailboxes, onedrives, and personal SharePoint sites, whilst the group itself can have a mailbox and/or SharePoint site. You want to look at the Teams option and select your teams sites there, or do a partial organisation backup selecting teams from there

so it’s possible if we want to backup entire organization for all M365 services including the teams in one backup policy?

or if we select all in the partial organization this mean all M365 services will be backup for all user in my organization?

Thanks😀

Other my queries, if i select all in the partial organization and also in the Groups let say i select group1.

The operator between partial organization and group using AND or OR ?

Will VDC backup only mailbox, archive mailbox, personal site, onedrive for users under group1 or all teams group and public sharepoint will be backup also?

It’s an AND match, so if you select only some services for a group and then select all in the partial organisation, it’s still going to do everything. You’d want to use exclusions to opt-out of specific services if needed
